Meet Bojangles! This loving bully mix is just five months old and already the happy go lucky kind of dog that people dream of having. While adventuring and floating on the river are his favorite activities so far, this fella is also down for playing with other dogs. Despite his adventurous nature, Bojangles will also settle well in a crate and is totally up for snuggling with his person. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Story
Meet your new best friend! This handsome little girl is 3 months old and already has the personality everyone hopes for in a puppy - playful, loving, and full of happy energy. She wakes up excited about life every day. He is being fostered in a home with other dogs and is doing well. Like all puppies, she will need a family committed to consistent training, continued work on manners and house training. She is at the perfect age to learn and bond, and with patience, routine, and positive guidance, will grow into an incredible lifelong companion. Birdie is spayed and up to date on all vaccines. She was turned in to our rescue as a stray so we really do not know her exact breed. She is most likely a bully mix with several other breeds mixed in. She currently weighs approximately 25 pounds and has lots of growing to do. She is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Please message us if you are interested in adopting this little girl and we will send you an adoption application!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      Some would think with a name like Giles, you'd expect a refined gentleman, with a British accent and a penchant for historical literature to help train this generation's vampire slayer, but alas, the reality is a spicy meatloaf content to be a house hippo with the occasional bought of zoomies.   Mr. Giles is a lovable lug, who enjoys spending his days either taking naps, playing with toys, or trying desperately to get his much older foster siblings to play with him. Giles would love a home with a fur sibling that enjoys playing together, or a home where the humans enjoy playing with him and spending a lot of time together. Giles has gotten along well with dogs his own size and smaller, and while he hasn’t had much exposure to dogs larger than him, he should get along just fine. Giles has not had any exposure to cats, but his play with the smaller dog in the home would suggest he would be very curious and try to get them to play too. Giles can be a bit mouthy and likes to jump yet, so he would do best with older dog savvy children.   Giles is a smart fellow, he's picking up simple commands like "sit" and "leave it". Potty training still needs a little bit of work, but that is mostly due to the fact that his foster sibling uses a potty pad, so he thinks he should too. He does wonderfully in a crate, and has done really well with being redirected to chew toys, versus his foster mom's shoes.   He's a silly man, who will run laps around the yard, and then flop onto the couch for belly rubs and a nap. He's an affectionate guy, who can never get enough snuggles.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Renji is a happy&#226&#128&#145go&#226&#128&#145lucky, goofy, lovable american bulldog mix who brings sunshine everywhere he goes. When he’s excited, his whole body wiggles—not just his tail—and his big, joyful “smile” is impossible to resist. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, walks beautifully on a leash, and is the perfect passenger for car rides. Truly, he has never met a stranger. At home, Renji is a sweet mix of cuddly and independent. He loves being near his humans, giving kisses, and burrowing into pillows on the couch or bed, but he also enjoys having his own space to relax. He’s well&#226&#128&#145trained, eager to please, and knows an impressive list of commands including Sit, Stay, Down, Heel, Wait, Leave It, Shake, and more. He’s potty trained, does great on walks, and enjoys exploring the yard. He doesn’t react to squirrels or bunnies but will give a few barks to the mail carrier or delivery drivers. Renji is ball obsessed—fetch is his absolute favorite game, and he’ll happily play as long as you’re willing. Just be prepared: he won’t drop the ball unless he sees you have another one ready to go. After playtime, he’s content to lounge, nap, and soak up the calm. He has done well with visiting dogs and dogs he meets on walks, and he has also done well with cats in homes he’s visited. He does wonderfully with kids outside the home, but because he has had some reaction to the young child in his previous home, he needs a home without small children. Older, considerate kids are a great fit. Renji does have allergies that need ongoing management to keep him comfortable. He has been well&#226&#128&#145loved and well cared for, and it shows—he’s confident, social, affectionate, and ready to bond deeply with his new family. If you’re looking for a silly, sweet, well&#226&#128&#145trained companion who will make you laugh every single day, Renji is ready to wiggle his way into your heart. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus taxMeet Fen!  Such a handsome fella with his crystal like eyes.  Fen loves other dogs and is having a blast in doggy daycare!  Boarding is no place for this boy to live though.  He needs a foster home to be the best dog he can be.  He is a little awkward at first because he was not really socialized after adoption with people.  He is quiet and wants to make sure you are nice before giving you the pet me please.  Once he trusts you, he is forever loyal. Housetrained Crate trained Walks well on a leash He is a bit clumsey and should be in a home with kids older than 12 so he doesnt accidentaly knock them over in his wiggle way. He is a star at boarding and a cuddle bug, he just needs a soft hand and voice to help know he doesn't have to worry about anything. Fen would do well with a dog savvy cat- he would perfer to love them from a distance but will not chase or bark at them.  He has worked with our trainer and will continue to do so post adoption to insure a smooth transition to a new home.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

This 10-year-old American Bulldog mix weighs about 47 lbs and is a friendly, well-behaved older gentleman looking for a soft place to land. Despite everything he’s been through, Vernon remains a sweet and gentle dog who enjoys being around people. He also walks nicely on a leash, making him a great companion for calm strolls and relaxed time together. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities.

Vernon has had a rough go lately and is a bit worn down at the moment, but with some good food, care, and a little TLC, he’s sure to start feeling — and looking — much better. Despite everything he’s been through, Vernon remains a sweet and gentle dog who enjoys being around people. He also walks nicely on a leash, making him a great companion for calm strolls and relaxed time together. Vernon would love a home where he can rest, recover, and enjoy the comfort and kindness he deserves. If you have a spot in your heart for a sweet senior who just needs a chance, Vernon would love to meet you. Story
Meet Mundo! Mundo is a sweet and spirited little bulldog. He is 1.5 year old, 49lbs, fully potty trained, kennel trained, neutered, and still has puppy energy. He has a more athletic build for his breed and loves to run and play, but will settle down on the couch with us when tired. Mundo will need a strong, patient, & loving pack leader. He is not good with other dogs or cats. Mundo absolutely loves children, but to an extreme. He gets too enthusiastic when children are around and wants to climb/jump and lick their face as much as possible. Because of this, I recommend he goes to a home with older children only. He does not have any issues with breathing, but he does have one cherry eye that has had two surgeries and still pops out, which will need attention. If you have the time and energy for a highly energetic and stubborn cutie, Mundo may be a good match for you. He will reward you by being your constant companion as he shadows you around the house.

Story
Lexa walked through our door about three months ago. She was fixed at SPCA in July of 2025. We think she's about 1-2 years old. Lexa got along with the rest of the pack right away. The neighborhood kids and my grandson love her. She tends to nip when she's excited and jump. Lexa is house broken. She will let you know when it's time for a walk, if you're home. Lexa does walk on a leash and pulls a lot. Lexa really loves to snuggle! Anywhere and anytime. She seems to have had some training. She knows hand signals well and also listens to verbal commands.

Story
This is Stahli - to know her is to absolutely love her! Stahli is a 3 year old boxer/boston terrier mix up for adoption in Minneapolis, Minnesota!! Not only is she stunningly pretty with a shiny black coat, she's also very smart. She loves performing tricks and pleasing her people when asked to do things. She craves adoration and accolades! Her favorite things are: snuggling, playing with dogs & toys and watching the neighborhood comings and goings. Stahli is the kind of dog that when she loves you, she loves you with every fiber of her being and that will never waiver. She has a goofy playfulness to her when combined with her adorable underbite, makes her simply irresistible! Gotta love a good snaggletooth! Stahli is a homebody and will thrive in a stable home without a lot of commotion and chaos. She is currently in a great foster home that is helping to build her confidence when meeting new people. In the past, meeting new people could overwhelm her, but she is getting much better! We don't think Stahli would thrive living in a large apartment complex. AND drumroll ::: Stahli is on Facebook + Instagram ::: she'd love it if you'd follow her. She loves being a star! @adoptstahli Stahli is being fostered in NE Minneapolis. To meet her in person, please fill out an adoption application. We will reach out to you within 72 hours to arrange a meet-n-greet. If you get to pet her cute spotted belly, you've won her over!
