Story
Hey, I’m Surly. I’m a 10 year old English Bulldog. Although I am 10, I definitely still have some spunk in me.  I enjoy short walks but will definitely tell you when I’m over my walk and want to go back home to sleep on the couch.  I love cuddles and being covered up with a blanket while I sleep. I have a lot of sass and will tell you when I need something. I expect you to share every dish of food you make with me. I am potty and kennel trained but love being left out of the kennel to snooze on the couch while you’re away.I would never get into anything in the home and don’t really play with toys but I absolutely love bones.  I should go to a calmer house to live out my golden years. I have gotten 8 teeth removed so I’ll need yearly dental check ups to ensure the rest of my teeth are in good health and stay nice and clean. I had some masses on my body tested but they came back benign so thankfully everything is clear there. There should be no issues going forward. I am good with cats. I’ll either cuddle with them or ignore them depending on my mood. I am okay with dogs as long as they are calm and leave my food alone. I don’t like when other dogs are playing or running around too much. I’m a great car rider as well. On our walks or out in public, I really love meeting strangers and letting them say hi to me. I normally will stop walking when someone is approaching in hopes that they will see me staying at them and say hi to me! I have such a big personality and would love a bed to sleep in. Oh yeah, I always sleep in bed cuddled up next to my foster momma as well! I will definitely make you laugh every day. I am just a goof ball of a doggo and would love to meet you! Xoxo, Surly Butt Butt Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, dental, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $450 plus taxMeet Fitz, a fun-loving puppy who is ready to find his forever home! Fitz is making great progress with housetraining, though he still needs supervision to ensure he goes outside. He does well in his kennel during the workday, occasionally making some noise at first.  He also is happy sleeping in his kennel but of course wont turn down an offer to sleep in bed. Fitz has also spent hours out in the house without any issues, but we recommend gradually increasing his free time, as he is still working on knowing what are his toys to chew on and what are not.  Fitz knows the 'sit' command well and can often be refocused and calmed down with a treat. He is comfortable with having his food taken away mid-meal and is improving at dropping items like toys and sticks when asked, especially if a treat is involved. He's a smart pup who is motivated by food and enjoys training sessions. Fitz is great with other dogs and plays well with his foster sisters, usually listening when they tell him to stop due to his playful puppy energy. On walks, he shows some interest in other dogs but is generally content to let them pass by. Fitz has met kids aged 9-15 and did well with them. He has discovered his voice but could probably do well in a place with shared walls if he's the only dog and has plenty of toys, or with a quieter dog, as one of his foster sisters loves to bark at animals outside and he seems to take her cue when she starts.  Fitz will make a wonderful addition to any family, especially one with other dogs. While a fenced-in yard would be ideal, he will thrive with daily walks and plenty of chew toys. Fitz is full of fun energy and is excited to bring joy to his new home. Meet Ford, a remarkable Bulldog whose presence is as powerful and steadfast as a mighty river. Just like the characteristics of his breed, Ford embodies kindness and courage, showcasing a unique blend of friendliness and dignity. Now you may not see it by looking into his gorgeous brown eyes, but Ford has suffered in his short life.... he came to the rescue from the streets with a HORRIFIC hernia on his back end, near his rectum. He required two surgeries to correct the hernia and allow him to have a normal life again. He came through with SHINING colors ;) With his well-muscled frame and low-slung stature, Ford is the epitome of a true bruiser, but it's his iconic "sourmug" face that represents his unwavering courage and tenacity. Despite his robust appearance, Ford is a docile and loyal companion, adapting seamlessly to any environment, be it the bustling city or the serene countryside. With Ford by your side, you'll experience the unwavering devotion and unmistakable presence of a Bulldog, a breed that leaves an indelible mark on your heart. Don't miss the opportunity to welcome this incredible Bulldog into your life, as Ford's unique spirit will bring joy, love, and an unmistakable charm that only he can deliver. Some basic information about Ford; he is male, a Bulldog mix, and is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Ford is not great with other dogs (or cats or other critters) and would be best in a home with either only adults or older children and as a single dog. But his heart will fill your home with all the love you need!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Gayle, a 2-year-old female American Bulldog mix with a stunning apricot and white bicolor coat. Gayle is a high-energy pup who loves spending time with people. She's incredibly friendly and cuddly, always eager to share affection. While Gayle enjoys the company of people, she can be selective with other dogs and might need a patient and experienced owner who can help her navigate her interactions. She's a bit anxious and defensive around other dogs, but with slow exposure and gentle guidance, she has the potential to adjust and become more comfortable over time. We suggest a single dog home for Gayle. If you're an experienced dog owner looking for a loving and energetic companion, Gayle could be the perfect addition to your family. With a little time and patience, she's sure to become a loyal and devoted friend. Come meet Gayle and see if you can be the one to provide her with a forever home filled with love and understanding. Story
It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Walter! I like to greet people the old fashioned way, a tip of the nose, a meeting of the eyes, and a formal introduction of who I am. I've always kind of been an old-soul, at least that's what people tell me, with my wrinkled fur and gentle eyes. As an older gentleman I tend to have a bit more patience than these young whippersnapper pups. You'll find me waddling around quite slowly but my tail still wagging none the less! I have been known to snap when nervous, but I have come so far and I just need a little time and patience. Cause I just so want to be your big goofy friend! I have a soft and squishy face to go along with my squishy personality! I am great with my people and great with other dogs too. I am shy at the very first but am on the fast track to love! As a senior dog there's really only one thing I care about ... TREATS ... just kidding, it's being close to others. Being close to others helps remind me that I am here and my story is still being written with infinite possibilities. Perhaps you and I could write the next chapter together? Bravo is my name, now that indicates two things- either, BRAVO!!! Great dog!! OR, Bravo that comes after Alpha and before Charlie. Phonetically speaking- it could be EITHER! He wants to be part of the group and loves to know he’s loved. He is absolutely a wonderful guy. His Bob tail goes at 100 mph when he is being loved.  He loves people, does great with kids. Story
Hi I'm Boss, I'm an energetic one year old American bulldog that would love a home to play and run around at! My fosters say I have an animated personality that pictures just can't capture, so hopefully this bio can help out with that! My favorite toy is my basketball, that I love to play with like it's a good game of soccer! Though I have many pass time activities like going on walks, my favorite one is going on car rides and sticking my head out the window. I love watching all the things go by, it's so entertaining! (don't worry it's half way so I'll be safe!). My training is still in progress, some of my difficulties right now that I'm working on are jumping when excited, being mouthy when playing, maintaining my energy properly, finding ways to deal with my boredom and noticing dogs' boundary queues. Some things I'm trained on is kennel time, and getting your attention when I need to use the restroom (my fosters use bells, and i ring them when I need to go!). I have been around kids, and though I'm good, my energy can be a bit high for them so older kiddos might be a better fit for me right now. I'm still in progress with getting used to cats, I'm still curious about them, so I can be vocal and jumpy towards them but a home with no cats might be a better fit for me. I'm highly curious about smaller animals and I am known for chasing chickens.. but I am good with dogs! My energy is also a bit of a struggle with making new friends, but the ones that match my playful puppy energy are my favorite! I love going on walks, and getting the zoomies in my foster's backyard! Though my energy is high, I'm still a love bug at HEART (hint: look at the birthmark on my nose).  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! My name is Newman and I’m seriously the sweetest boy! I was born 9/11/23.  They thought I was a boxer mix at first but one of my siblings had a DNA test done that said I was mostly beagle. I get along with dogs of all shapes and sizes! Also with adults and kids! I do need to learn some boundaries with some dogs, but I’m just a puppy! But with a correction from my foster mom’s dogs and I take the hint! I love to wrestle and chase with my foster mom’s dog they are quite a bit bigger than me but we all have so much fun! I’ve almost got potty training down too! I work well on a schedule and will go to the door when I need to go out! I sleep all night in my crate until I hear my foster mom’s alarm go off then I usually bark cause I need to go potty! I do love to be outside, sometimes my foster mom leaves me on the tie out a little longer cause I like to just sit and watch the squirrels. When I’m not playing with my foster mom’s dogs I like to relax with chew or toy! Or sitting on the couch cuddling my foster mom. The only things a don’t like is the car… I get nervous and will start drooling and if we go a full stomach I might throw up. I’m starting to learn to like my crate but if I know someone is up and I’m stuck in the crate I will bark and I’ve got a big bark for a little guy! I’m a quick learner and I’m sure I’ll be the perfect family pet! I promise I will melt your heart when you meet me!! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
