I am looking for a forever family! Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi, my name is Monica and I am from Alabama! Monica is a sweet puppy who loves to play and wag her whole body when she sees a friend. She has a 2ish hour battery before she needs to recharge with a nap and sleeps through the night! She's making great progress with potty training. Monica believes she's a lap dog despite her massive paws, so she'll need guidance from her human and/or a bigger dog to learn that not everyone wants to play. This big baby is a fast learner! In one weekend, she learned to settle and nap in her crate when you are and aren't around. We've also been practicing loose leash walking, sitting, and door etiquette. Monica would be great in a family that has a bestie to play with (human or dog).

temp foster needed 10/22-10/25 Email fostersupport@thebondbetween.org if you can help! Hi, my name is Marvin and I am from Alabama! To know Marvin is to love him! He is a true gem and, dare I say, the loviest pup I’ve ever met! He’s sweet, smart, adorably dopey, and incredibly cuddly. Marvin loves running outside, sunbathing, and playing with toys. He’s very intelligent and has an amazing memory. Marvy is great at "sit," "no," and "yes." Marvin has great recall & is basically a professional at potty training! He loves when you run beside him in the yard! He sleeps peacefully in his bed and waits for you to wake up, followed by lots of wiggly morning cuddles. But Marvin’s favorite place is right next to you (or on top of you, haha)! Marvin is super duper cuddly, loves being in contact with his people, and will happily follow you wherever you go. He's also a social guy! Apply to come meet Marvin and experience all the love this special pup has to give! 🤍🏡 From the Vet: Marvin had an unfortunate injury to his knee while in rescue, but the good news is that TBB was able to arrange for a quick fracture repair surgery. He has gotten his stitches out and is healing externally great! He needs about 1-3 more weeks of activity restriction to help him heal. His forever home should plan to continue this slow return to normal activity over that time and follow the physical therapy recommendations from the surgeon. Marvin has his last X-ray recheck on 10/21 to make sure he's healing well internally. TBB will agree to cover 1 recheck as determined necessary by the BB Rescue Medical Team."

Story
Hi, Im CocoBear! Im a big, beautiful two-year-old girl with a classic bulldog face, a gorgeous white-and-brindle coat, and a heart that is just as big as I am. Im goofy, affectionate, playful, and when Im ready to settle down a total couch potato. I also have a pretty impressive overbite, which my foster mom says might be what Im remembered for in the history books. Personally, I think it just makes my smile extra special. Ive had a pretty complicated start to life, so let me tell you a little about my story. I was originally given to someone as a birthday present when I was just a puppy. Unfortunately, it quickly became clear that I wasnt wanted there. When I was only five months old, I was surrendered after not getting the care and guidance a puppy needs. I arrived in rescue skinny, underweight, and pretty overwhelmed by everything around me. My foster family took their time with me, helped me decompress, and showed me what it felt like to be safe. And you know what? I bounced back! I learned to trust my foster family, including their 10-year-old son, and I lived happily in a home with several other dogs. I discovered that being outside was pretty fantastic, too. Having a fenced yard where I can sniff, explore, stretch my legs, and just enjoy being a dog is one of my favorite things. I was adopted into another family, but unfortunately that placement didnt work out. Later, I was rehomed without my rescue knowing where I had gone. For eleven months, nobody knew where I was. Then, on June 3, 2026, my microchip finally led my rescue family to me at a humane society. I was withdrawn when they found me, but the moment I saw the people I knew and trusted, I was friendly. They took me home that day, and Ive been safe with them ever since. After everything Ive been through, my foster family says the thing that amazes them most is that I still trust people. Im still trying. Im still loving. Im still looking for my place in this world. These days, Im a fun combination of puppy energy and couch potato. I love to play, and Im an equal-opportunity toy lover pretty much anything can become a good toy in my opinion! I especially enjoy being outside, and when Im finished with my adventures, Im perfectly happy to stretch out and relax. Im also a MAJOR cuddler. In fact, I dont always understand that I am a large dog with something called personal space. When I decide I need some affection, Ill sit beside you on the couch with my back toward you and then perform my signature move: I faint backward right onto you and promptly go to sleep. Yep. Thats my love language. The fainting doesnt stop there, either. I have a habit of napping halfway off things couches, chairs, pretty much anything that seems vaguely nap-worthy. Im not sure why I do it, but my foster family finds it hilarious. I love my people and get the biggest wiggle butt when I see them. Im friendly and happy to have humans around, and Im happiest when Im included in family life. Im also working on some important manners. I know sit and down, and Im learning stay, give, and drop it. Treats are definitely the way to my heart and the way to convince me that training is a pretty excellent activity. Im about 98% potty trained. I do have one little quirk: if my water bowl is left down when my people are gone or overnight, I may drink a lot and then need to go outside. Sometimes I try to tell my humans, but they dont always hear me, which can result in an occasional accident. Keeping that in mind helps me be much more successful. Im also comfortable being left alone for up to about seven hours. I was crate trained as a puppy, although my foster family currently gives me access to a gated kitchen so I can spend more time hanging out with them. There are a few things my future family should understand about me. Im a strong girl, and I can still be mouthy sometimes. I missed out on some puppy-manners training in my previous home, so Im learning that my mouth doesnt need to be involved in every interaction. Im smart though, and Im working on it! I also need slow, thoughtful introductions with other dogs. Ive lived successfully with multiple dogs before, and I currently live with three resident dogs. I can be dominant and pushy with canine friends, so I need people who understand dog body language and will give me the time and space I need to get comfortable. My foster family believes slow introductions are important for setting me up for success. I havent lived with cats or other small animals, so that part of my rsum is still blank. My prey drive seems fairly low I usually ignore the bunnies and squirrels in my yard, although I once reacted to a bunny that suddenly ran right in front of me while on a walk. Since I havent been tested with cats, my future family should plan accordingly. Ive also learned that thunderstorms are VERY SCARY. During my first storm after coming back to my foster family, I was so frightened that I broke through two gates trying to get to the living room couch. Once I found my safe spot, my foster dad stayed with me on the couch while I shook for hours. So Ill need a family who understands that storms are a big deal to me and is willing to help me feel safe when the weather gets wild. My ideal home would be a house with a securely fenced yard. I love being outside, and I can be a bit of a barker when I hear people outside, so a home where that wont be a major issue would be best. Im also a strong dog, so Id do best with an experienced dog owner who is comfortable continuing my training and helping me become the best version of myself. But underneath all of those details is the part my foster mom really wants you to know. Im trying my best, Mom. Thats what she says she sees when she looks into my eyes. Im a good girl who tries hard. I want to be loved. I want to belong. I want to finally find my place. And despite everything that has happened to me, I still have so much love to give. My foster mom says she loves how incredibly resilient I am and how I continued to trust her family after everything I experienced. When they found me again after eleven months, I knew them. I remembered them. And that moment broke her heart and melted it at the same time. She says if she could keep me, she would but she knows I deserve a home that can give me everything I need. Maybe that home is yours? Maybe youre looking for a big, goofy, affectionate girl who will play with you, follow you around, flop onto the couch, and occasionally faint dramatically into your lap. Maybe youre someone who understands that dogs dont have to have a perfect past to deserve a beautiful future. And maybe youre the person who can look at me and say, CocoBear, youre home.I sure hope so.   Please visit our website saveabullmn.org to learn more about this amazing pet and see other available dogs.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Meet Walter! ❤️ Hi, my name is Walter, and I’m a big sweetheart who is learning that the world can be a pretty wonderful place when you have people you can trust. I’ve been slowly coming out of my shell in my foster home, and while I can be cautious and shy at first, I’m making progress every day. I may need a little time to feel comfortable in a new environment, but once I know I’m safe, my loving and affectionate personality really starts to shine. One of my favorite things in the whole world is getting attention from my people. I absolutely LOVE being pet, and belly scratches are pretty much the way to my heart! I also have a funny habit of making myself into a lap dog. I may be a big guy, but that certainly doesn’t stop me from wanting to climb up next to you and cuddle. If you’re looking for a companion who will happily snuggle up with you and soak up all the love you’re willing to give, I might just be your guy. I also really enjoy having canine friends. I love other dogs and can be playful with them. I currently live with two small dogs in my foster home, and I’ve been very respectful of their size and space. Having another confident, friendly dog around may even help me continue to build my confidence. I’m also okay with cats, although I sometimes forget that they aren’t supposed to be a fun game of chase! Because of that, any cats in my future home would need proper supervision and introductions. I’m becoming more interested in toys, too! I’m still discovering what toys are all about, but large plush toys have definitely caught my attention. I’m sure with time, patience, and encouragement, I’ll continue to discover more things that I enjoy. I’m also starting to enjoy going on walks. There is still some work to do in the leash-training department, though! I’m an extremely strong boy, and when I see another dog, I can get VERY excited and want to pull toward them. My foster family is helping me work on my leash manners, and I’ll need someone who is patient, consistent, and willing to continue that training with me. I already know some basic commands, including sit, go potty, outside, and kennel, so I’m definitely capable of learning and continuing to improve. One thing that is especially important for me is having access to a secure, fenced yard every day. I absolutely love the freedom of being able to safely explore and enjoy a fenced-in space, and it’s something I would really benefit from having in my forever home. A fenced yard will also give me a great opportunity to get exercise, sniff around, play, and simply enjoy being a dog without the pressure of a leash. I can be sensitive to overwhelming commotion, and busy or chaotic environments can be scary for me. I would do best with a family who understands that I may need some time to adjust and decompress when I first arrive. A calm, patient home where I can settle in at my own pace would help me feel secure and allow my true personality to come out. I don’t need someone to rush me—I just need someone willing to give me the time and reassurance I deserve. I’m still healing physically, too. I’m currently finishing antibiotics after having an abscess that has cleared up. I have some scars around my neck, as well as a few scabs that are continuing to heal. My elbows also have some rough spots and scabs that should continue to improve with time and proper care.  Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m an incredibly loving boy. I’m learning to trust, learning to play, learning to enjoy walks, and learning that I can relax and be loved. I have so much potential, and I’m already showing what a wonderful companion I can be. I’m looking for a forever family who will be patient with me, give me time to adjust, continue helping me with my leash skills, and appreciate all the love and cuddles I have to offer. In return, I’ll give you a whole lot of affection, companionship, and probably more than a few attempts to convince you that I absolutely belong in your lap! If you’re looking for a big-hearted sweetheart who may need a little patience at first but has so much love to give ❤️ Walter may need a little time to show you everything he has to offer, but underneath that cautious exterior is a loving, affectionate boy who just wants to feel safe, loved, and included. Give him the chance to come out of his shell, and you may discover your new best friend. ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Do you have a couch that has too much space? Do you have grass that needs to be rolled on? Then let me introduce you to Bubba. You may know him better by his stage name, DJ Bubbasaur. He is all about a good back scratch, a kong to wrestle with, and a couch partner to lounge with as you watch your favorite trash tv. He is on the low energy side when indoors, however Bubba is a good disciplined walker as long as you are good with going his pace. He is there for the smells, brief zooms when going downhill, and scratching his back on particularly appealing lawns. Bubba is a chill and good with people. He should be a solo-pet as he does not do well with other dogs/cats encroaching on his personal space, but is happy to walk with and interact with other dogs in public spaces (e.g. breweries). A good chew toy is his favorite, but they need to be sturdy as he is very adept at getting the squeak out of squeaky toys and stuffy dog toys have a tendency to explode in his presence. He does not chew on couches or furniture, but Bubba has been known to rearrange the cushions to make himself a personal dog couch fort.

Story
Meet Babette, a beautiful 4-year-old American Bulldog who is discovering that life can be pretty wonderful when you have soft beds, cozy blankets, squeaky toys, and lots of people to love. 🤍 When Babette first arrived at her foster home, she wasn’t quite sure what to make of all the comforts around her. She preferred lying right on the floor rather than on a dog bed. But it didn’t take long for her to figure things out! Within a day, she upgraded herself to blankets, and now she happily lounges on her bed, enjoys snuggling in the recliner, and considers her kennel one of her cozy spots, too. Clearly, she has developed excellent taste. Babette has also made some pretty impressive strides in confidence. At first, she needed to see or feel her person constantly and would howl if she couldn’t. These days, she’s much more comfortable relaxing on her bed while her people go about their day. She’ll occasionally follow along to see what’s happening, but she’s learning that she doesn’t have to be attached at the hip to feel secure. And Babette LOVES people! She was absolutely thrilled at her first vet visit and seemed convinced that every single person there had come specifically to meet her. She was ready to greet everyone and make new friends, proving that once Babette knows she's safe, she is more than happy to share her love with the world. She’s also discovering her playful side! Babette recently learned that squeaky toys are pretty fun—although apparently they are even more fun when you can completely dismantle them in about sixty seconds. Consider that her official review of squeaky toys: five stars for entertainment, zero stars for durability. 😂 Babette is a bit of a late riser and would like to formally lodge a complaint about the 6 a.m. start time. She’ll get up, take care of business, and then voluntarily head right back into her kennel for some much more reasonable morning sleeping. Clearly, she understands the importance of a good work-life balance. Babette is still getting comfortable with her new routine and figuring out what she likes. She’s currently a little particular about her food, but happily accepts a bit of cooked sweet potato mixed into her meal. She’s also continuing her medicated baths as her skin care routine progresses. Babette has already come such a long way, and watching her discover new comforts and confidence has been wonderful. She’s a sweet girl who is learning to relax, enjoy her surroundings, and simply be a dog. These days, that means cozy beds, recliner snuggles, squeaky-toy destruction, morning naps, and enthusiastically greeting every human who might possibly be there to admire her. Babette is ready for a forever home where she can continue settling in, soaking up love, and enjoying all the cozy spots—and wonderful people—she can find. 🐾
