Story
Location: Buffalo, MN Hello! My name is Tucker! My foster mom says I am a beautiful boy with lots of love to give! Did you notice my cute smile? I am ALWAYS smiling with my foster family. I currently live in a foster home with 2 other dogs, 2 cats, and my foster mom (of course) and my 4.5 year old foster sister. One of my foster brother's is a Neapolitan mastiff (He's HUGE!) and my foster sister is a Chihuahua (she's tiny J ) . I love them both so so much! I am not cat reactive. In fact, when I see the cats in the house I don't even notice them because I'm too busy snuggling with my foster mom or chewing on my bones. I am potty trained and crate trained. My foster mom says I have this thing called separation anxiety, and sometimes it makes me whine or bark in my kennel when I can't see her, like at bedtime. I am getting better by the night and am almost fully trained. When my foster family comes home I get so excited that sometimes I jump on my foster mom. She is teaching me the word "down and I am perfecting learning it. I also know the words stay, no, and sit! I have the cutest butt wiggle with my short little tail, my foster sister says I have the cutest little tail in the house, and will always show you my wiggly butt when I see you. I can't wait to find my furever home and show you how much love I have to give! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Hi I'm Pup Tart I came to SHH as a newborn! From the foster: Pup Tart came into rescue with her siblings as an orphan newborn. Due to this Pup Tart did miss out on learning some important puppy lessons from her mom - Pup Tart would benefit from an adoptive home with a social friendly resident dog and a home that is up to continuing to help her socialize with people, other animals, and set up with critical puppy training. Hi! I'm Pup Tart and I am looking for my furever home! I came in to rescue as a tiny puppy with my siblings, but I seemed to have some urinary struggles as I was getting older. After my first appointment at the SHH Vet, the determined that the most likely cause for my struggles with my UTI most likely stemmed from a severely recessed vulva. The treatment plan for this was to use an antibiotic ointment on me for now to help prevent the infections. My medical care plan recommendation is that SHH Vet Center and my adopters wait until I have gone through my first heat cycle to be spayed. At the time of my spay the vet will determine if a vulvoplasty surgery will be necessary to help me maintain a good level of urinary health later in life. Both the spay procedure and +/- the vulvolplasty will be covered by SHH and any other care after adoption would be the responsibility of my new family. There will be an additional $500 deposit in addition to my adoption. This deposit will be fully refunded after I complete my spay procedure!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Plum but we affectionately refer to her as Alice, a name that seems to resonate well with her, even though her response to names is not particularly strong yet. Alice is thriving and displays a gentle and sweet demeanor, especially towards my 11-year-old son. Evidently, she has spent considerable time with children and relishes their company. She eagerly joins my son in bed, finding her way under the covers to peacefully doze off—a clear indication of her yearning for a permanent home. Alice's physical attributes contribute to her charm, boasting surprisingly soft fur and a tender face, possibly hinting at some American Bulldog lineage. She delights in showering affection by licking faces endlessly and enjoys being cradled on her back like a baby for extended periods. While she responds well to commands like "crate up," occasional reinforcement is needed. Generally quiet and composed once settled, Alice has never indulged in people food, eliminating any begging behavior. However, if something piques her interest, she positions herself as close as allowed, even attempting to snatch it if not deterred. Her recall skills, especially outdoors, are lacking, likely stemming from a past where she had ample freedom to roam. Reactivity and impulse control pose challenges, particularly around lawnmowers, other dogs, loud vehicles, and joggers. Her behavior around these situations can be unpredictable at times so it necessitates careful management with a gentle leader and harness. A friend, who is a dog trainer, has confirmed these challenges but believes they are not insurmountable, with patience and professional guidance. Residing in a wooded area with a fenced yard, Alice spends her time observing wildlife, offering a positive outlet for her energy. She coexists well with another dog in the household, and her occasional resource guarding has significantly diminished over time. Despite some stubbornness, Alice is bright and quick to learn when motivated. Her sleep habits lean towards a more laid-back hound-like pattern, not exhibiting an early riser tendency. Alice's athleticism shines through in the backyard, where she bounces energetically and engages in enthusiastic pursuits. It's worth noting that she has endured past abuse, evident in moments of flinching during seemingly innocuous activities, highlighting the importance of understanding her background in shaping her behavior. Overall, with the right guidance and patience, Alice, the sweet and spirited dog, has the potential to overcome her challenges and thrive in a loving forever home. Plum is from a local impound. Story
May our days be snuggly and bright together!Hello! I am Mabel!Oh My Goodness it is Sweater Season! I love cozy sweaters! It seems to make the humans happy too. People are often surprised by my “perfect size”. They say I am a medium sized girl, about 40 pounds.I am currently living with my foster family. They have two kids (ages 11 and 8). I really like watching kids, but I prefer a calmer home. Older kids and adults are my jam. Loud noises and fast movements tend to startle me. I enjoy sitting back and watching the world. This helps me to know my environment and what is expected of me. I am slow to make dog friends. I don’t really enjoy being around other dogs in public or social settings. I do have a dog friend here at my foster home. He has become my favorite friend. His friendship has helped me to understand that I can be friends with other dogs, I am just selective. I prefer dogs that will give me my space and let me adjust to having them around. Slow introductions have worked best.I really love toys! Anything that I can chew on, squeak, chase after and especially ones that I can defluff. The humans here say I am an expert at defluffing toys! Sunshine is one of my most favorite things. I could lay in the sun all day. In fact, I require a sunny spot to soak up the sun, both inside and outside. I do well with a routine. I am housetrained. I will go in my kennel/crate if you prefer. I am not often kenneled here, but I do well when I am. I have been working hard with my training. I even know a few tricks! I will only show them off if I am going to get treats though. I enjoy walks. I especially love the kind of walks where I get to sniff everything. It helps me relax and unwind after a long day of laying in the sunshine. I will go potty on a leash, but I prefer a fenced yard to patrol. I know my people are out there looking for me. I hope to meet them soon!Love,Mabel""I'll Be Home for Christmas"" Adoption Extravaganza! For Applications received through 12//31/2023, Warrior Dog Rescue is taking $200 off of the adoption fee of dogs who have been waiting just like Rudolph did for their time to shine. Story
On the fur-st day of Christmas, my new home came to me!Hi there everyone, my name is Feather! I am a “lean, not so mean, loving machine”, or at least that is what my foster humans tell me. They also tell me my name is feather because I am so light-hearted, it has nothing to do with my size obviously ☺. I have these cute short legs, and a head like a bowling ball, and I weigh a muscular eighty-five pounds. My tail never stops wagging as I follow you around, waiting for you to give me something to chew on, or to stop what you’re doing and give me some love. Sometimes you may find me napping in the sun or cuddling with one of the little humans or resident dogs (hopefully in the sun). I love chewing on toys, bones, and balls. So, I hope you don’t mind cleaning up after me because shredding toys is my favorite thing to do. I am kennel/crate trained and will go there on command, but I usually want a treat for doing this. I stay in there when my humans are gone and sleep through the night with no problems. I have only had a couple of accidents since I have been here, but to be fair it turns out I have a weak bladder and I must take a pill a couple of times a day to help me hold it. Otherwise, I am house trained. I also get along well with other dogs so long as we have a proper introduction, and they are not too much in my face/personnel space or have issues with having dominant dogs around them. I have a K-9 foster brother and sister (they are boxers) here at the house and we do pretty well around each other. We don’t play much but we respect each other’s space and enjoy each other’s company. That being said, I can share toys as long as the other does not want to mine or fight about it. I also have two fun younger humans that are very loving on me and are not loud and crazy. I love to run around in the yard and be silly, so a fenced yard would be best, but don't worry, I LOVE walks too. Though, I do prefer the company of my humans when I’m out in the yard. I’ve learned to just lie down and soak up the sunshine on the patio or chew on my toys. Myself and both the resident pups have started to play and goof around a bit more now, but nothing too crazy. Car rides are always a bonus, and they tell me that I ride well. I will probably just lay down on one of the seats or the floor unless snuggles are an option, then I choose that. I get excited when my humans go to the door or get out the leashes. Walks are the best thing in the world (in case you didn’t know), although I am still learning to walk without pulling. My foster human says I am getting better, but I think it is because they started using a gentle leader. He also says that when we are walking, I am a good teacher of patience and deep breaths (especially if there are squirrels and rabbits around). The things I need most are, lots of chew toys (duh), a dominant master(s) who will be willing to set boundaries to help direct me to be the best that I can be, and if there are kids and or dogs the kids should not be hyper, and the dogs must be able to respect me being the one who chooses which bones/toys are mine and yours. The last thing I want to tell you about myself is that I have been trained in both Spanish and English, how cool is that? Now that I have told you about me it is up to you to decide if you are the confident, strong, patient, and loving family that I need in my life.""I'll Be Home for Christmas"" Adoption Extravaganza! For Applications received through 12//31/2023, Warrior Dog Rescue is taking $200 off of the adoption fee of dogs who have been waiting just like Rudolph did for their time to shine.
