Hi, I’m Kismet, and if you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate best friend with a big personality and an even bigger heart… well, that might just be destiny. I’m a friendly girl who loves my people hard. I’m basically a living, breathing warm blanket—couch cuddles are my specialty, and I’m more than happy to lounge with you after a long day. That said, don’t let my snuggly side fool you… I’ve also got some working-dog energy tucked in there. My previous human says I was awesome at doggy daycare, and I’d honestly love a “job,” whether that’s structured activities, training, or having a dog buddy to keep me busy. Speaking of protecting—consider me your personal alarm system. I will bravely alert you to suspicious noises, unexpected sounds, and possibly that leaf outside. You’re welcome. Sometimes I sing a little when my people leave the room or head out of the house, so I do best in a home without shared walls where I won’t disturb the neighbors. I love other dogs and would really enjoy a companion who wants to play. A more active household or someone who enjoys giving their dog purpose would be right up my alley. While I’m happy to chill on the couch, too much downtime can make me restless—balance is key for me! I’m still working on a few things, like remembering that potty breaks happen outside (I’ve had a couple oopsies when left alone too long), and resisting the urge to investigate counters and shred exciting paper treasures. I haven’t tried a kennel yet at my foster home—my old life involved sleeping in bed with my human—but with patience and guidance, I’m learning every day. Hi! I'm Gertie and I LOVE FOOD, walkies, and snuggles! I am a happy, healthy girl who has all the correct potty manners. I wouldn't dare dirty our home! Even though I have gone through a few big transitions (being left behind at impound, moving to a new home), I walk into every room with the perceived confidence of a queen! If you watch close you'll see me still checking in with my human for a little reassurance. Loud or new noises give me pause, but I'm quick to forget I was ever worried! I settle in pretty quick if you give me a warm soft place to lay and some treats! I love going on walks - before going outside I get the excited tippy tappy's. Once I'm on a leash outside and ready to go, I don't have a ton of motivation to go unless there's something to chase. I prefer a good "Sniff-ari" to a run. Give me a walk, some treats, and some quality snuggle time and I'm happy. I want to be in your shadow at all times! Let me in your lap, I'll snore happily between your legs or upside down for belly scratches. When I'm really happy to see you or feel like it's been too long between some good heartfelt snuggles I'll give you a BIIIIIIIGGGGG STREEETTCHHHHH to make sure you know it's time. I'll do ANYTHING for snacks! Therefore I LOVE training! I'm not sure about the squishy squeaky soft things or the chewy things that aren’t food yet.... but if you kick a ball I'll chase it! But then you'll have to go get it because I'm not sure what to do from there.😬 My favorite place is on your lap! I'm perfectly content and quiet in a crate (if you insist). Gertie's foster mom here - Gertie would tell you she LOVES AND MUST KNOW EVERYONE. I agree she wags her tail and is curious with most everyone and everything. She LOVED AND WAS LOVED by every human at impound. She happily greets and co-exists with my large male dog. She wants to be friends with my similar sized female dog, but sometimes gets overexcited and shows some dominant or pushy behaviors. She quickly attached to us and feels protective of us around our dogs. I recommend intentional introductions. Male dogs or mellow dogs are a super safe bet. High energy or female dogs should be introduced slowly. Gertie hasn't been exposed to children yet so no comments there. She seems to be motion driven, so cats may be a concern for her. Gertie is a SNORER. It's pretty comical. When you let her out of her crate, she does fast front feet tippy taps to show her excitement! She does the same when getting leashed up for a walk. So cute!🥰 Gertie’s pros: * HOUSE TRAINED - YAY!! * Knows ‘sit’ * Quick to learn new commands * Learned her new name (Gertie) very quickly * Very good on a lease * Excellent in a crate Gertie would be the best ever companion dog for a bully/bulldog lover. We rescued Jasmine in October 2024, and she’s now 5 years old. She’s full of energy and absolutely loves playing tug-of-war, but she also has a sweet, affectionate side and enjoys cuddling just as much. Hello, my name is Frodo or Fitzgerald! I’m a one year old happy energetic pup that’s listed as a Great Dane Mix. I’m overall pretty friendly with all. I am kennel trained and a great eater, which means I’m also fun to teach new tricks to! I would be best suited to go to a new home that has a schedule and lifestyle that I can be a huge part of. Since I’m young and full of energy I would do best in a fenced in yard or have the ability to have new activities I can be a part of like hiking or day trips to explore new places. I need solid leadership as sometimes I need to be a little recentered or refocused when I get over stimulated. Because of this, I would be best in a place without young children as I’m still a little uncoordinated from time to time and little kid energy is a bit confusing for me. Kids who are a little older and are interested in helping train me are definitely an exception. Basically from the get go I’m going to just need consistency throughout everyone in the household to help me learn the rules so I can settle in successfully. My current foster mom does in-home boarding at our house so I spend my days meeting new dogs and some new people, so I am pretty well socialized and very much thrive with all the constant stimulation. I do best meeting others outside my kennel in an open space, I tend to be submissive and take appropriate correction from dogs older than me, very well as I’m constantly learning ways to play with all different sizes and breeds. I can't wait to find my forever family!
