Once I get to know you, I’ll be your shadow, your snuggle buddy, and your biggest fan. I love giving kisses, curling up next to you, and being the center of your world - because to me, you’ll be the center of mine. At first, I can be a little cautious when meeting new people. I just need a little time to feel safe, but once I do, my whole heart belongs to you. When you earn my trust, you’ll see my goofy, affectionate side - the part of me that loves to play, lean in for hugs, and make you laugh with my big, silly “lap dog” personality (all 80 pounds of it!). I currently live with another female dog who’s 5 years old, and we have so much fun together! We love to play and chase - though sometimes I forget my own strength. I also love my naps and have been told my snoring is absolutely adorable. It’s just one of my many charms! I adore toys (maybe a little too much!), so I prefer to have my own stash to keep things peaceful. I’m also a big fan of treats, and I’m happy to share as long as everyone gets one! I’m mostly house-trained and try so hard to be a good girl. If I ever have an accident, it’s never on purpose. I always feel bad and want to make it right because I really do try my best to make my humans proud. Hello, my name is Frodo or Fitzgerald! I’m a one year old happy energetic pup that’s listed as a Great Dane Mix. I’m overall pretty friendly with all. I am kennel trained and a great eater, which means I’m also fun to teach new tricks to! I would be best suited to go to a new home that has a schedule and lifestyle that I can be a huge part of. Since I’m young and full of energy I would do best in a fenced in yard or have the ability to have new activities I can be a part of like hiking or day trips to explore new places. I need solid leadership as sometimes I need to be a little recentered or refocused when I get over stimulated. Because of this, I would be best in a place without young children as I’m still a little uncoordinated from time to time and little kid energy is a bit confusing for me. Kids who are a little older and are interested in helping train me are definitely an exception. Basically from the get go I’m going to just need consistency throughout everyone in the household to help me learn the rules so I can settle in successfully. My current foster mom does in-home boarding at our house so I spend my days meeting new dogs and some new people, so I am pretty well socialized and very much thrive with all the constant stimulation. I do best meeting others outside my kennel in an open space, I tend to be submissive and take appropriate correction from dogs older than me, very well as I’m constantly learning ways to play with all different sizes and breeds. Part lap dog, part seal, and 100% lovable! Crumpet came all the way from Alabama and has decided that life here in Minnesota is pretty darn good—especially when it involves people, kids, cozy laps, and a patio rug! This sweet girl is an absolute lover. If there’s a lap available, Crumpet would like to formally request it. She adores people and kids, rarely barks, does great in the car, and is an absolute hoot. Crumpet currently lives with three other dogs. It took her a little while to figure out what this whole “playing” thing was about, but she’s now started showing off her funny little moves and even enjoys cuddling and playing with her roommate, Daisy. One of Crumpet’s greatest talents is heading out to the patio, flopping onto her favorite rug, doing a full sploot , and dragging her belly around like a little seal. We think her belly may be a bit itchy, but she certainly makes it entertaining! Crumpet also enjoys daily walks, chewing on Nylabones, watermelon, naps on the patio, and, of course, snuggling with her favorite humans and doggy roommates. She has made so much progress during her several months in foster care. Her foster family has worked hard to keep her on a consistent schedule with house training. When she first arrived, Crumpet was recovering from heartworm and had to take it easy for the first several weeks. Now she’s enjoying walks, adventures, and all the little things that make life fun. Do you have a couch that has too much space? Do you have grass that needs to be rolled on? Then let me introduce you to Bubba. You may know him better by his stage name, DJ Bubbasaur. He is all about a good back scratch, a kong to wrestle with, and a couch partner to lounge with as you watch your favorite trash tv. He is on the low energy side when indoors, however Bubba is a good disciplined walker as long as you are good with going his pace. He is there for the smells, brief zooms when going downhill, and scratching his back on particularly appealing lawns. Bubba is a chill and good with people. He should be a solo-pet as he does not do well with other dogs/cats encroaching on his personal space, but is happy to walk with and interact with other dogs in public spaces (e.g. breweries). A good chew toy is his favorite, but they need to be sturdy as he is very adept at getting the squeak out of squeaky toys and stuffy dog toys have a tendency to explode in his presence. He does not chew on couches or furniture, but Bubba has been known to rearrange the cushions to make himself a personal dog couch fort.

Once he feels safe and comfortable, he’s incredibly affectionate and happiest snuggled up close with his family. He especially loves kids and would be thrilled to have a home where he can soak up attention, cuddles, and plenty of couch time. Like many sensitive dogs, Gherkin can take a little time to trust new people, especially men, but patience and kindness go a long way with him. Once you earn his trust, you’ll discover a playful, loyal companion who loves being part of the fun. Gherkin is a big fan of toys, chewing sessions, and fetch, and he is highly food motivated — if snacks are involved, he’s interested.
