Story
Location: Rice, MN Meet Bowie, aka Squash (his official foster name), a one-year-old bundle of love and energy! This sweet, affectionate boy thrives on companionship and would do great in a home with another dog to help burn off his playful energy. He does excellent in a kennel, and gives you occasional sad groans and sighs because he’d rather be with you! He’s a fan of cuddling up at night and can be found snuggling against your legs while you sleep if you let him. Bowie loves kids but his high-energy and playful, Boxer-style “hugs” (using his front legs) may need a little work to perfect. May do best with older kids. Bowie is curious but not aggressive toward cats and LOVES running in a fenced yard, playing keep-away. He’s learning leash skills but needs some guidance due to his excitement on walks. While he’s not an escape artist, his love of chase means you’ll need to be quick to catch him if he gets out! However, Bowie is highly food motivated, which helps with training. He’s house-trained with a consistent routine and enjoys being let out frequently. Bowie would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard, or with someone who loves outdoor adventures. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and loyal companion, Bowie just might be the perfect fit! Please contact his foster for more details on Bowie/Squash and to meet this darling, beautiful boy! His and his siblings DNA show him to be 65% Boxer, 25% Bulldog, and the rest Shepherd. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m about a year old Boxer mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the good boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups. I would need a home with another dog because I love to play!   I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a home without small kids, as sometimes I am anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and love antlers and bones to chew on.    If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!    Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Lady Earabelle an approximately 18 month old Boxer mix. She is an extraordinarily sweet, loving, kind pup that loves to cuddle. She also does amazing with other dogs. She will absolutely be your best friend.  She cares about what her humans think and feel and wants to please them.  She has been super easy to train to sit and stay.  She is house trained, and she has no problems in her kennel and goes in there freely without any whining. She loves to chew on her bones and other toys.  She's still a puppy so she loves to be active outside as well.  A tie out or a taller fence would be good for her because she's super agile and athletic. Her favorite thing though is to curl up next to you on the couch and give you love.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Avery!  Avery traveled with her siblings from North Carolina after the hurricane. She was born in late August and we believe she is a  Mountain Cur/Boxer mix. Avery is full of puppy energy and loves to give puppy kisses. Avery loves her food but isn't possessive. She is learning to go outside to do her business and is using the doggy door. Going in her kennel can be hard but will settle down after a little bit of whining. She is sleeping almost through the night as well.  She is starting to explore more and gaining her confidence.  Avery got along with other dogs at her first foster home. Currently, there are cats but they don't like puppies. Avery checks them out and is learning to give them space. Avery loves kids and is trying to figure out that they are not puppies. She loves toys and is constantly finding things to play with. She loves interactive/brain toys.  If you're an active person who enjoys exploring, Avery would be the perfect companion to join you on your journeys. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Location St Paul, MN It's hard to believe sometimes that this girl had any challenges prior to finding her way into our home. This cutie is crate trained and potty trained. She is loving, sweet, incredibly goofy, and has a gentleness about her that is hard to ignore. She does show some signs of fear in certain situations, most noticeably around men, which she communicates rather subtly. Even still, she rebounds and trusts quickly when approached with a calm, affectionate demeanor... and with treats! Even in situations where she seems nervous or anxious, she has shown no signs of reactivity. She is also an absolute joy to bring on outings so if you are looking for a companion to run errands with, she's your gal! She loves car rides, feeling the wind on her face, and just generally being with you wherever you go :) She loves to get her zoomies out in the yard and will sometimes snort as she runs, which is just one of the many ways she brightens our days! Her favorite things are looking out the front window, zooming through the yard, sniffing around on walks, ripping apart her stuffed toys to get to the squeaker, playing with other doggo friends (she has gotten along amazingly with our 6mo old resident puppy), and of course, freeze-dried liver treats. When she isn't being her fun-loving, goofy self while playing with humans or canines, she's a HUGE fan of cuddling up on the couch or bed. Wherever you prefer is fine with her as long as she gets to snuggle with you! Snow Bear will make a wonderful companion in just about any home and has lived with children, which we can see being a good fit based on her loving nature, but we think she would truly thrive in an adult only home with a submissive, gentle doggy sibling. Again, she loves other dogs, but unfortunately was paired with an assertive pup who preferred to be an only dog in her previous home so we would love for her next sibling (if she has one) to be more gentle and welcoming of her! We just adore this sweet girl and cannot wait for her to find the perfect forever home! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Apple Valley, MN Meet Sloane – Looking for a dog with both heart and personality? Meet Sloane, a stunning 1-year-old, 47-pound pit bull mix with beautiful markings and an even more beautiful soul. This girl is equal parts goofball and cuddlebug—she’ll have you laughing one minute with her belly-up wiggles and snorting ball chases, and melting the next as she snuggles up for a chest rub or snoozy nap at your side. Sloane is thriving in her foster home, where she’s showing her affectionate, playful, and loyal nature. She’s housebroken, kennel trained, and adores her toys—especially balls (we’re working on the “drop it” part, but she’s eager to learn!). She has a velcro-dog vibe and really bonds with her people, always nearby, always ready for snuggles or a game. She is still learning to feel safe out in the world and can be reactive on walks when she sees strangers, kids, or other dogs—but she’s smart and very food motivated, and her training is already making a difference. Sloane is still working on her confidence. She can be hesitant and fearful with strangers and needs slow introductions and patience to feel safe. Because of this, she’s looking for an adult-only, dog-savvy home with people committed to continuing her training and helping her build trust at her own pace. Kids are just too scary for her right now, and she hasn’t been tested with cats. The good news? She’s already making great progress. With love, structure, and snacks, this girl is going to blossom even more. She does well with other dogs and would thrive with a calm, confident canine companion or as your one-and-only. Sloane has some allergies, but they’re manageable and haven’t slowed her down one bit. She’s playful, affectionate, silly, and sweet—truly a gem waiting for the right person to help her shine. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving best friend who will reward your patience with endless affection (and the cutest back rolls you’ve ever seen), Sloane just might be your girl. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
