Story
Meatball is a compact, muscular American Bully with a calm demeanor and a strong preference for human companionship. He is an affectionate, people-oriented dog who forms close bonds and enjoys being near his person throughout the day. Meatball is steady and relaxed in public environments. He is non-reactive to dogs, wildlife, and everyday distractions during walks and prefers to remain close to his handler. He enjoys accompanying his foster caregiver to work and is well-received by everyone he meets. Meatball has low to moderate exercise needs. He prefers very short, slow walks and is content with one brief walk in the morning and one in the evening. He enjoys spending time outdoors in pleasant weather and engages in light play, including fetch. Meatball is housebroken and does best in a predictable, calm environment. During severe weather (high winds, thunder, or lightning), he may become anxious and occasionally have accidents. He does not enjoy extended periods of isolation and prefers a home where someone is present most of the day. While crate-tolerant for short periods, he is most comfortable outside of a crate. He sleeps in the bedroom with his people, uses his own bed, and enjoys resting on furniture with his family. He navigates stairs well despite his short stature. Meatball is highly food motivated and requires structured feeding practices. He should be fed separately and have treats or bones provided in a secure area. He may live with another dog with appropriate management, though he may be best suited as an only dog due to his strong attachment to his person and occasional jealous tendencies. Cat compatibility is unknown; limited observation suggests low reactivity. Meatball would do best in a home with older children or no children. He is physically strong and may be unintentionally rough despite having no ill intent. Meatball is seeking a stable, adult-oriented home that values companionship over high activity. He would thrive with adopters who enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, can provide consistent structure around feeding, and are looking for a devoted, loyal companion.

Story
Meatball is an amazing dog and we all love him so much. We wish our other dog felt the same way. My other dog sometimes has issues with him and they end up fighting. We have been trying since the summer time to fix the problem. It gets better for a bit but then a fight happens again. It’s to no fault of meatball but he is now protecting himself and fighting back. We have two children that are 13 and 7 it’s not a good situation as my son is now scared all the time. He just will follow his person, he’s very food motivated which is why I say he should be an only dog and with older kids as he’s very compact pocket bully but so strong 58lbs. He’s super chill walks as slow as a turtle mostly just sleeps and follows his person. He doesn’t like to be alone long but he is used to it as we do work. He is house broken but does have accidents when scared here and there. He is the perfect easiest dog. He comes to my office with me and is just amazing. We will miss him so much.

Story
Mick (formerly McGee) came from a rural shelter in north Georgia, where he'd been found as a stray. Thanks to the efforts of some diligent volunteers who saw what a sweet and loving dog he is, Mick was saved from euthanasia at the eleventh hour and transferred to a loving foster home with Doggie Harmony where he has been thriving! Mick loves everyone he meets and has the sweetest disposition imaginable! He is very submissive around other dogs and enjoys playing with his foster brothers, but his main concern is being within licking distance of his people. He loves to give kisses! Mick is a bit of a velcro dog, but has not shown any signs of separation anxiety, and despite being underweight, he has also shown no signs of resource guarding with regards to food, treats, toys or people. He is just a very sweet, good boy! He is housebroken and crate trained, and has shown no inclination towards mischief when left unattended. He listens well and is eager to please, and is learning basic commands. There is also a resident cat in his foster home, and while Mick is curious about her, he has so far been very respectful towards the cat.  Mick does have some quirks from his past life as a stray, though: he is very nervous on a leash, and has trouble walking on hardwood floors. Adorably, though, he has learned that he can traverse the hardwood floors more easily by walking backwards! Mick is also working on leash-training, but since he has not yet mastered that, he would do best in a home with a fenced yard so he can get plenty of potty breaks and exercise while he works on overcoming this fear.  Mick is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, and is ready for his forever home! Adoption fee: $300December 26, 2025, 10:03 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.needs to be only dogLike most of us, Jackson is trying to navigate some crazy recent developments. This American Bulldog/Boxer mix spent seven great years with his pet parents before his world was turned upside down by a toddler (Relatable, right?).   While he has struggled to adapt to the antics of an unpredictable little human, Jackson remains a sweet, well-behaved Good Dog. He loves his crate and follows numerous commands. And get this: He dislikes walks almost as much as you dread carrying poop bags. Score! Jackson’s go-to activities are lying next to you on the couch or zooming around the backyard before soaking up some rays with a pro-level nap. His ideal forever home would feature adults, teenagers and a fenced yard. Could he share this place with another dog or a cat? Sure, but let’s take that nice and slooooow.  Age: 7 years Weight:  50 labs Temperament: Gets along with adults/teens and other dogs with slow intro Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, knows commands and tricks Vetting: neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application ( www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption ) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.July 14, 2025, 6:31 pm

Story
Coco and her siblings were 8 weeks old when they became court cases with animal control charges of animal cruelty. They have been in foster for the past 22 months and were just released to be available for adoption. Coco's journey to find her forever home has been one of resilience and love. This beautiful girl had a tragic start, as she and her siblings became court cases with charges of severe abuse and neglect when they were just a few weeks old. In April 2023, Coco and two of her siblings came into a wonderful woman's care as foster babies. Since then, Coco has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Coco has shown incredible strength and love despite her dicult beginnings. She deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy to her new family. About Coco: - Coco is almost 2 years old, weighs approximately 66 pounds. She is spayed, up to date and has all her vaccination  and is heartworm negative. - Crate Trained & Housebroken: No accidents - Obedient: Coco knows basic commands like sit, wait, treat, and get in, working on stay. - Great Sleeper: Coco sleeps 8 hours a night in her crate, giving you peace and quiet. - Friendly: Coco plays well with her siblings and my daughter's dogs. - Energy Levels: Coco has medium to high energy; she loves walks around the neighborhood. - Loving & Affectionate: Coco is a real Velcro buddy who loves to cuddle and be close to her humans. - Social: Coco loves people she knows but needs a few minutes to warm up to new people. - Food & Treat Motivated: Coco is easily motivated by food and treats. - Prey: Coco likes to chase squirrels, so a watchful eye is needed. - Not Tested with Cats: Coco hasn't been tested with cats yet. - Fenced Backyard Preferred: Coco would love a secure backyard to play in. - Solo or Pack: Coco may thrive as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion.   For questions, please email .   amy@doggieharmony.org To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.  July 11, 2025, 4:36 pm
