My name is Shari! I'm the cutest little meatball. I am 40 lbs and around 9 months old. I am not big - seriously! I am dense and compact and as of now, I seem pretty well filled out. I don't think I will get much bigger. I am a bit of a low rider. My foster mom also says she has no idea what I am. When I hear her talk she says I am probably a combo of a number of things including Bulldog, Pug, Heeler, Terrier. I am the funniest dog and I constantly entertain my people and dog friends (even when I am sleeping). I am housebroken and crate-trained. I am not sure I will need the crate for long as I don't get into much that I shouldn't! I am great with dogs and just fine with cats. I have been around kids over 8 and I enjoy them. I love to snuggle. That could be my favorite thing to do! I also entertain myself well and I play with all my toys. I take them all out of the toy basket; I have not mastered putting them back in. I could be an only dog but I could also live with a dog friend or two. I can run and play with the best of them or just lounge with the lazy ones. When a visitor comes into the house, I will let you know! With a treat or two, I am in their lap and looking for love and affection. I am pretty low maintenance and I am a joy to have around. I hop like a bunny when I get playful. All four paws off the ground! My foster family calls me Miss Piggy because... sometimes I get a curly tail and well... I snore! Rescued from a local New Jersey shelter, Lovebug is a joyful soul who adores everyone she meets. She has a zest for life that’s as big as her heart, and her playful energy is bound to bring a smile to your face. Lovebug is good on leash and enjoys quiet, short walks where she can take in her surroundings at a gentle pace. She would absolutely love a fenced yard where she can romp and play to her heart’s content. She takes treats gently, is eager to please, and thrives on human connection. A home with older kids is preferred due to her playful nature and her tendency to think she’s a lap dog! Lovebug does have a medical condition that requires special care. Despite two surgeries to address her challenges, she sometimes struggles with breathing and regurgitation when she gets overexcited. She’s currently on a low level of medication that helps keep her calm, and this works successfully about 90% of the time. Because of this, she needs a peaceful home with minimal commotion to help her stay relaxed and comfortable. She would do best as the only pet in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Mick is a 2-year-old, 65 lb sweetheart with a gentle soul who just needs the right person to help him feel safe. He was found as a stray in Bartow County, Georgia, landed on the euthanasia list, and was thankfully saved and transferred to Doggie Harmony. They are now partnering with Eleventh Hour Rescue to help Mick find a loving home up here. Mick is still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. On leash, he can freeze up and feel unsure, so he would do best in a home with a fenced yard where he can comfortably get his potty breaks and exercise. With patience, consistency, and someone willing to work with him, Mick has every potential to gain confidence and learn to walk happily on leash. Despite this one challenge, Mick is otherwise a wonderful, well-adjusted dog. He absolutely loves everyone he meets and is friendly with other dogs and even cats.
