Meet Mack, an adorable senior brindle Bulldog who was saved just in time by 11th Hour Rescue from a high-kill shelter. And are we ever glad we did! Mack has matured into a calm and loving gentleman who still enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He’s incredibly affectionate, loves to be near his people, and is a quiet companion when left alone. Though Mack is calmer now, he still loves a good game of fetch with his favorite tennis balls and enjoys walks. He's well-behaved on a leash when out and about and finds pure joy in car rides, rolling around playfully in the backseat. Mack is housebroken and crate trained, and he also doesn’t mind dressing up for special occasions (even if he does sometimes put on his "worried" face). This sweet boy can get a little overstimulated when excited, so a home with dog-savvy adults and older children would be ideal. He would thrive as the only pet in the home, but does well walking past other dogs in the neighborhood. Foster / foster to adopt home needed for Coffee Bean! Please apply today at rbari.org/dogs Coffee Bean was called "Stray," dumped in Paterson after having a litter of puppies delivered by C-section. Coffee Bean sadly also has a significant heart murmur, old scars, hookworms and broken teeth. She was identified immediately as a relation to Coco, our sweet bully mix with a terminal heart condition. We waited anxiously as the vet examined her, hoping that her heart condition was not as advanced, but the news wasn't the best... Coffee Bean was found to have valve disease in her heart, as well as nutritional deficiencies. Her heart condition is degenerative though she is asymptomatic right now. She will be on 2 medications long term and has started a new diet. Her prognosis is unknown, as she has just begun treatment. Coffee Bean is about 4 years old and 46 pounds, shy and frightened to walk on a leash. We had to carry her from her kennel at the shelter, shivering and unsure about the world around her. Adorably, her stress melts away when she is in your arms and she becomes the sweetest girl ever! Coffee Bean is seeking a lower activity household, and thus far has been neutral with other dogs. We don't know how long Coffee Bean has, but she is doing well right now - and she so deserves a special home of her own. Meet Rabbit! He's a dog, not a rabbit. We know that's confusing as we have rabbits for adoption also. Rabbit the Dog hops around like a bunny rabbit and is an adorable happy little 7 month old puppy. He's extra cute and funny for a heartbreaking reason. He had severely deformed front legs, birth defects due to inbreeding common in the fad of "exotic micro-bullies" that breeders can sell for high prices. He's getting a medical work up to see if anything can be done to help him in the longterm but will likely just be a special differently abled clumsy little guy. He walked as if he is perpetually play bowing so needs to stay on softer surfaces- grass/carpet runners- to avoid sores developing on his legs. He sometimes tumbles when he gets too excited- which is a lot because he is a happy puppy full of joy and playful energy who loves everyone he meets. He's only 16lbs at 7 months old and probably won't get too much larger but will fill out more. We don't know what the future holds for him and if he will live a normal lifespan or how long it will be before he develops too much arthritis to be able to be happy and comfortable, but he's looking for a home where he will get unconditional love and live every day to its fullest. He had been waiting all that until finally going into a foster home end of July. In an overcrowded shelter with over 500 dogs, he had been overlooked for too long.
