Story
Mister Goober is an absolute sweetheart with a heart as big as his gentle soul. From the moment he arrived, he showed just how calm and loving he is.
He is easy to leash and hops down without issue, walking through the building with minimal pulling. Once outside, Mister Goober made it clear what he loves most—people. He leaned into his handler, resting his head against a leg, happily accepting pets on his head, ears, back, and sides. He sweetly asked for more affection by nuzzling into a hand, placing his head in a lap, or gently resting a paw for extra connection.
True to his name, Mister Goober is a perfect little mush. He melts right into you and thrives on love and closeness. While he’ll happily engage in a little game of chase or show interest in toys, his favorite activity by far is snuggling up with his person. He’s very food-motivated (treats disappear fast!) and already knows how to sit.
Mister Goober is a loving, calm, and affectionate boy who would make an incredible companion. Due to medical needs, he is rescue only, but his sweet nature and gentle demeanor will surely win over everyone who meets him.

Per volunteer 12/20: “Mister goober is a perfect little mush. He melts right into you for love and affection. Would play a little bit of chase with humans and with toys but mainly just wanted to snuggle. Absolutely inhaled all treats. Knows sit. Very loving and lovable.”
Per staff 12/19: “Mister Goober was SO sweet and calm. In the back of the police van he was loose but came right up to the open door with loose body and gentle/slow tail wags. Was able to leash with no issue. He jumped down and walked with very minimal pulling into the building with me. In the intake lobby, he leaned up against me and put his head on my leg, allowing pets on his head, ears, back and sides. Solicited attention by nuzzling his head into my hand or placing his head in my lap. He even put his paw up on me gently. A very sweet boy.”
Per Police: “Calm and chill”
