She is a ~3.5 month old boxer/pit mix, currently close to 20lb but expected to be around 45-60lb once fully grown. She is mostly pee pad trained and just starting to outside train. Elizabeth is a smart girl who catches on quick - she has already learned sit and crate! Elizabeth is somewhat particular about who she spends her energy on (after all - Taylor Swift says to think of your energy as a luxury good - not everyone can afford it). Elizabeth gets nervous at first with new people and places, but once she is comfortable will let loose with goofball energy. She loves to shadow and be involved in whatever chore is happening, and will even “help” load the dishwasher! She likes to play fetch, destroy a toy in one afternoon, and roll around on her back. Mostly she loves a snuggle and is always trying to climb into a lap, no matter how small the chair is. Elizabeth is ready for her forever home. She’s happiest simply being near her people, quietly napping or keeping you company. She rarely makes a peep, but she’ll let out a polite bark when she needs to go outside. And when you come home, prepare for a warm, tail-wagging greeting that never fails to brighten the day. Pearl comes from a very loving home. Her former owner, a devoted animal rescuer, adored her deeply — Pearl even had her own 4-foot-deep swimming pool and spent countless hours happily paddling and lounging in the water. She was cherished, active, and always by her person’s side.After her owner passed away, Pearl stayed with extended family, despite a close friend of her owner offering to take her in. A couple of years later, she was brought to the shelter in rough shape: covered in fleas, with irritated skin and low energy. Even so, Pearl remained gentle and trusting, ready to love again the moment she felt safe. Today, Pearl enjoys slow strolls, gentle exploring, and all the soft, cozy beds she can find. She walks with a limp from arthritis in her back end, but with medication and injections she stays comfortable, and she approaches each day with quiet resilience. She may need a little help with stairs, though she tries her best to manage on her own. She gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and even cats. Pugsley is a gentle and very sweet boy. He seems to be housetrained and loves being around people. He has some medical issues with his ears that will heal over time. He is very well mannered and loves attention. The vet says he is a perfect gentleman. He loves going for walks and car rides. He especially loves Dairy Queen pup cups! Given the trauma that Pugsley has sustained, we are searching for an only dog home (no cats as well) for him at this time. We think he needs time to heal from his trauma and it would be best if he gets to do that as a dog only home! He is scheduled to be neutered. ##2492850##
