******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Lunesta, 6 years old, spayed female, pit bull mix, 55lbs. Lunesta is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Lulu is a sweet, medium energy kind of gal who loves to play. She is in a foster home with a resident pit bull and a shih tzu, and tries engaging them in play. She would love to have a home with a canine companion to play with her. The resident shih tzu will get barky and nippy at Lulu, and she walks away, ignoring him entirely. Lulu doesn't have much body awareness and will body check the other dogs when playing or when treats come out. She pushes and shoves to the front of the line for a treat, to get the toy or to be the first one out the door. She can also be quite clumsy, sometimes running into the doors or walls because she is so focused on looking back at you. Lulu loves to play but also loves to snuggle up and rest with you, or on her own in the crate or on the couch. She is a sweet cuddle bear and enjoys following you around the house ensuring you are never alone nor under attack from an unseen foe. Going to the kitchen? Lulu's coming too. Need to use the restroom? Good idea, she should join you. Headed outside for some vitamin D? Perfect, that is just what she wanted to do also! Not even joking, Lulu really does love the sun and baking as long as you will let her. Lulu is a toy hoarder. She will sneak and steal the toys from her siblings but is not aggressive of them. As a general rule of the foster, all dogs are fed separately to ensure they eat their own meals but not because anyone resource guards their food. We have no history with cats but when walking her and she sees one, she wants to charge at it. She has been around children ages 10 and up without issue, and we have no reason to think she couldn't be around very young kids as she's not super jumpy or energetic. Typically recommend a home with kids over the age of 10 years, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Lulu does need to work on her leash manners as she is all over the place and pulls with the typical pittie energy. A harness or Gentle Leader head collar may yield the best results but Lulu's foster has been working patiently with her on this training. Lulu is nearly fully housetrained but will "go" if it has been too long between her potty breaks. She does not have any accidents overnight in her kennel. Lunesta is crate trained and does very well, sleeping and taking her meals in the kennel, as well as being put up when unable to be supervised. She would do best in a home willing to help her reinforce the basic manners she already has, ensuring a good solid connection through training and structure. She would enjoy a moderately active house with some walks and fetch opportunities, lots of snuggles and cuddles, and possibly another doggy sibling or two. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Pit mix mutt. Everything is up to date, chipped and fixed. He is a really great dog. High energy, loving, cuddler, protective but not aggressive. He is indifferent to most people, no excessive jumping or licking. No food or toy aggression. He is friends with our local deer, lol. He needs someone that spends a lot of time with him, to take him outside, exercise him. He loves car rides and well-behaved. He is in great physical shape and very healthy. No extreme issues. He does not have the best dog social skills & his energy can be overwhelming. He is ok with most dogs, cannot be around cats. He has anxiety & must be crated when left alone. He does best with consistent routine. He can jump low fences and climb chain link fences. His prey drive overshadows his recall. None of this has to do with why we have to rehome him. Time and finances have changed. Adoption fee is negotiable.

This absolute darling is Winter! She is a sweet and easy-going lady of medium energy. She loves cuddles and toys, and walks right at your side on a leash. She will melt right into your lap for cuddles and will fall asleep right there. She may do well with a doggie sibling, pending a successful meet and greet. At 8 years old, she has some medical needs typical of dogs her age, which our adoptions team would be happy to speak with you about. Winter is deaf, which means she navigates the world a bit differently, relying on visual cues and vibrations to understand her surroundings. Having a deaf dog can be a rewarding experience-communication is often through hand signals, visual aids, and gentle touch. If you're looking for a laid-back and affectionate sidekick, come meet Winter! Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh Northside- 1101 Western Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15233 Kennel License #- 1121

Story
Meet Scout! Scout is a male, black and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. His date of birth is in 10/2023 and he weighs 75lb.  Scout is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations (Rabies, DAPP, Bordetella).  Scout has a wonderful gentle temperament - he is very loving and is a big lap puppy.  Scout is very good with people and does get a little excited when meeting new friends.  Scout is very social, good with other dogs and attends doggy day care occasionally to play with the other pups.  Scout loves playing ball in the back yard and running "zoomies".  His favorite pastime is to chew on a fresh marrow bone, raw or cooked, and he loves healthy snacks like raw carrots, apples, bananas, blueberries, strawberries and eggs.  Scout is leash trained and doesn’t mind car rides but needs lift assistance to get into the car as he does not willingly jump in.  He is completely house broken and has learned to ring the bells hanging on the door knob when he wants to go out.  He knows basic commands (i.e. sit, stay, no, etc.) and will sit to take treats. Scout would love an active family that can give him lots of of attention and regular exercise and introduce him to new experiences like walking on trails and playing at dog parks.  Could it be with you? For more information on Scout CONTACT: vonne_williams@yahoo.com or 412-477-4340.
