Story
Ghetti is a 2-3 year old American Bully. She was found running stray with another dog in WV. Spaghetti AKA Ghetti is as cute as they come! She's about 35-40lbs of beautiful bully. She does have some quirks(mainly her fearfulness of men and general shyness). BUT, she has made great strides since being in foster and we have every ounce of confidence that she will continue to flourish in the right home. An added bonus is that she comes with FREE ongoing support from the rescue's certified behavior consultant. In foster, she has become extremely close with the male in the home after her intial fearful behavior of him. The key with her is time, patience, space and understanding. She's really just learning about humans and it's important to continue to make her feel safe. Once she feels safe and trusts you, WATCH OUT! She will crawl into your lap and cuddle like you've never seen. She may even show you her goofy side which is so fun to see! Ghetti may need several meet and greets if you are male or have a male in your home, so if you're impatient or pushy DON'T APPLY. She would do best in a home with a calm male dog or as the only dog, no cats or small animals, respectful kids aged 10 and up. Her ideal home would be on the calm/quiet side. She really loves walks, so if you like walking or hiking in areas with low traffic and noise...she would love to be your hiking partner! She will need someone that isn't scared to advocate for her...meaning that you will need to be able to tell people, "Hey, please give her some space, she's shy." ...or put her in a crate with something yummy if you're having people over and you feel she might not be comfortable. Someone that is willing to always put Ghetti's feelings and best interest first, so that she can continue to learn to trust the world would be amazing! She is not a dog park dog nor would she enjoy outings with people everywhere. Some of her favorite things include: walks in the woods, food, SNUGGLES, treat puzzles and confidence building games, couch potato-ing and car rides. She does well in her crate and hasn't had any potty training issues. If you think you can be an advocate to protect her and her feelings and love her little hippo self, SHE WILL GIVE YOU THAT LOVE BACK TENFOLD! She is special and deserves someone special...reach out if you think that someone special is you!  ##1541407##

Story
Biggie is as his name describes, a big guy at 70lbs. Due to his size and energy level we are not recommending small kids though he is very friendly towards children. He’s friendly with everyone he meets! Biggie loves toys and chewing bones! He would love a family that can engage with him with training, walks, and play. Despite his energy level, he does do well in a crate at night or when his foster family is away. Although he’s lived with dogs fine, slow proper introductions are necessary. We think a home without cats would be best as he does like to chase them when he’s under stimulated.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Lunesta, 6 years old, spayed female, pit bull mix, 55lbs. Lunesta is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Lulu is a sweet, medium energy kind of gal who loves to play. She is in a foster home with a resident pit bull and a shih tzu, and tries engaging them in play. She would love to have a home with a canine companion to play with her. The resident shih tzu will get barky and nippy at Lulu, and she walks away, ignoring him entirely. Lulu doesn't have much body awareness and will body check the other dogs when playing or when treats come out. She pushes and shoves to the front of the line for a treat, to get the toy or to be the first one out the door. She can also be quite clumsy, sometimes running into the doors or walls because she is so focused on looking back at you. Lulu loves to play but also loves to snuggle up and rest with you, or on her own in the crate or on the couch. She is a sweet cuddle bear and enjoys following you around the house ensuring you are never alone nor under attack from an unseen foe. Going to the kitchen? Lulu's coming too. Need to use the restroom? Good idea, she should join you. Headed outside for some vitamin D? Perfect, that is just what she wanted to do also! Not even joking, Lulu really does love the sun and baking as long as you will let her. Lulu is a toy hoarder. She will sneak and steal the toys from her siblings but is not aggressive of them. As a general rule of the foster, all dogs are fed separately to ensure they eat their own meals but not because anyone resource guards their food. We have no history with cats but when walking her and she sees one, she wants to charge at it. She has been around children ages 10 and up without issue, and we have no reason to think she couldn't be around very young kids as she's not super jumpy or energetic. Typically recommend a home with kids over the age of 10 years, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Lulu does need to work on her leash manners as she is all over the place and pulls with the typical pittie energy. A harness or Gentle Leader head collar may yield the best results but Lulu's foster has been working patiently with her on this training. Lulu is nearly fully housetrained but will "go" if it has been too long between her potty breaks. She does not have any accidents overnight in her kennel. Lunesta is crate trained and does very well, sleeping and taking her meals in the kennel, as well as being put up when unable to be supervised. She would do best in a home willing to help her reinforce the basic manners she already has, ensuring a good solid connection through training and structure. She would enjoy a moderately active house with some walks and fetch opportunities, lots of snuggles and cuddles, and possibly another doggy sibling or two. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? Story
Hi, my name is Margo! My brother Henry and I were found lost in the wilderness. I‘m super friendly with people and love to be held, cuddled, and be the center of attention. I want to play with other dogs but need a lot of training, exposure, and patience to help me be comfortable and confident as sometimes I can be a bit much. I’m mostly potty trained but still have accidents on occasion, but I’m getting better and better at letting my foster parents know when I have to go outside. I LOVE LOVE going for hikes and regular walks (I’m up to 4 miles a day and thriving!) and just overall being outside. My favorite pastimes are chasing bugs in the grass, lying outside in the sun, and exploring the outdoors. I do have a high prey drive and will chase most other animals. I have a lot of energy and would do well with a big fenced in yard to run around in. I also think I would benefit the most with someone who is home most if not all of the day as I don’t do well on my own. I have no experience with small children so don’t know how I would do. I am crate trained and spayed. ##2211345##

Story
Remember me? It’s Cherry or as my foster mom calls me , Cherry Pie because she thinks I’m just sweet as pie. Ive been recently spayed and had my cherry eye surgery! I’m a brand new gal I’ve had a very rough beginning of my life. My previous family used me to breed and never cared for me. I somehow found myself roaming the streets and I seemed really scary because no one has ever showed me what love was. I got caught in this scary contraption and that’s when I was swooped away by my foster mom. After I realized I was safe, I started cuddling with my other foster friends. I love other dogs and even don’t mind the kitties that occasionally appear. I enjoy naps on the couch and sleeping in the soft bed. I’m also a crazy food and treat lady. After having to eat off the streets I have become obsessed with having food and get super excited. Toys also get me to let my personality to show. I sometimes get so spicy that I’ll take a run around the house with it in my mouth.  I have learned how to be a dog from watching the others around me and have learned a lot! I feel much more confident in myself. I am ready to find a family who will continue to show me the love I deserve and continue to learn how to be a normal dog.  From the streets into your sheets! ##2242164##

Story
Meet Shadow!   This energetic 1-year-old Pitt Bull Terrier mix is ready to find his forever home! He was found running the streets with his brother, who was recently adopted! When Shadow was found, he has some skins issues that are healing nicely since receiving TLC from his foster!   Weighing in at 47lbs, Shadow loves to run around and play, but don’t let his playful spirit fool you—he’s also a big cuddle bug who enjoys snuggling up after a fun day.   Shadow’s a smart boy who listens well, especially when corrected on the leash, although he might pull a bit when his excitement kicks in. He’s great with other dogs and has shown he can be gentle with kids, though he might be better suited for older children who can keep up with his playful energy.    He hasn’t yet been tested with cats, but with some patience and slow introductions, we think he could adapt just fine!    Are you ready to give this lovable pup a chance at a happy life? Come meet Shadow and see if you’re the perfect match! ##2262222##
