Story
Toffee-tastic is a charming 49 lb. canine companion with a coat as warm as his personality. His red fur with white chest and toes adds to his adorable appeal. At 1.5 years old, he's still finding his footing in the world but has already shown a heart full of sweetness and potential. Toffee-tastic is a sensitive soul, prone to nervousness and preferring to avoid conflict whenever possible. Loud or sudden noises can startle him, so he feels most at ease in calm and quiet environments. Despite his timid nature, he enjoys the simple pleasures of life, particularly playing fetch, which brings out his playful side. He's incredibly sweet-natured, showing affection to those who earn his trust, though he lacks confidence and may need reassurance from his human companions. Toffee-tastic would thrive in a loving and patient home environment where he can feel safe and secure. A gentle and understanding owner who can provide him with the comfort and reassurance he needs will be essential to helping him overcome his fears. He may do best in a household without young children or other pets, as their energy levels might overwhelm him. A quiet and predictable routine, along with positive reinforcement training, will help Toffee-tastic build his confidence and blossom into the loving companion he's meant to be. If you're ready to open your heart and home to a sweet and sensitive soul, Toffee-tastic is waiting to find his forever family. Contact us to learn more about how you can make him a part of your home. The dog adoption fee is $90. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DHPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), and Pyrantel (dewormer). Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than we can get them updated online. If you'd like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services' website.

Story
Alfy is a 2 year old American Pitbull Terrier mix. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, house trained, and full of love and cuddles. Alfy enjoys going on long walks (or runs), tug-a-war, car rides, and doing pretty much anything his owners are doing. He is great with children and all humans, unknown with cats, and for the most part good with dogs but can be aggressive when it comes to food and toys. I'd recommend him being the only dog in the home. Alfy is a curious and smart dog. He's a quick learner but does need additional training. His current owner is working on crate training, and would recommend crating when unattended, since he may start chewing. His current owner has another dog in the house and has found that both dogs would be better in only dog homes, and is looking for a safe, loving home where Alfy can thrive.

If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Hi, my name is Zolo and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Oct 25, 2023. There’s no better place than cuddled up close to my human on the comfiest couch. I’m the kind of dog that enjoys an easy-going lifestyle. Movie marathons, binge-watching shows, designated nap times, and regular pets are some of my favorite activities to do with my people!“Play” is my middle name! Fetch, tug-of-war, frisbee – I’ve done my research and I love it all! Playing together and having fun, followed by curling up at your feet or on the couch would be my absolute ideal day.

Great semi energetic snuggly little boy!! Please contact us to submit an application directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com or  https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other Rubble is a 6 mos old  (DOB 8 Feb 2023) 40 lb Boxer/Retriever mix.  He will be a medium to large dog as an adult.  Rubble, his mom (45 lb) and littermates were found running down access road of a highway when they were 5 weeks old.  Everyone in litter and mom died of Distemper (due to owner not giving them shots).  Rubble is the sole survivor.  He will be special needs throughout his life.  He is a very special puppy that has tons of love to give and loves all humans, children, playing with other polite /low energy dogs, playing with toys and visiting with volunteers/staff getting chicken /treats. Did we say he LOVES his humans?  When he plays and does his walk abouts you do not see any affects of distemper.  He is crate trained, walks on a leash and loves car rides.  He will benefit from some continued obediance training and public socialization with new environmental objects.  He will play, then will hang out on the couch or your lap.  He requires an owned home with a securely fenced yard in a colder climate as the hot TX temperature is not conducive to his health.   He is looking for a special needs mixed breed dog experienced family.  He will do best with another dog companion and someone that works from home or caregiver (female) is home.    No apartments.   Courtesay post for the Helotes Humane Society.
