Story
Meet beautiful Hazel Hazel is about 2 years old and is truly the snuggliest big lap dog you'll ever meet. She is a devoted people dog who loves being close and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company. She enjoys cozy couch time for movie nights, soaking up belly rubs (her absolute favorite), and giving the best kisses. Great on walks and will alert to strangers, but she is easily corrected. Same with guest in the home. Once she sees her people are welcoming, she quickly relaxes, tail wagging, big smile and is happy to make new friends. Hazel is house and kennel trained, listens well, and knows basic commands including sit and stay. She is also great for nail trims, sits calmly for baths, and does well for teeth cleaning, making grooming time easy. Hazel sleeps through the night on her dog bed but would happily snuggle in her human's bed if allowed. She loves walks, relaxing outside with her people, and does well with older children (she hasn't been around younger kids yet). She is not a jumper or territorial of toys, Hazel enjoys chasing around with other dogs but is still learning how to play independently and isn't very toy-motivated. She does, however, enjoy chewing on rope toys and bacon-flavored bones. Hazel would thrive in a loving home where she can stay close to her people, enjoy plenty of affection, and truly be part of the family. She is located in San Antonio, TX. Adoption includes transport with a health certificate. She is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped and heartworm tested. Please complete the adoption application below if interested. Story
Cocoa is an 11-month-old pup with the gentlest, most loving soul. She is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented, and she truly just wants to be close to her humans. Whether she’s cuddling on the couch, following you around the house, or greeting you with happy tail wags, Cocoa makes every day brighter. Cocoa and her sister Cypress were brought to a high-kill shelter in Houston, where they were at risk simply for being unwanted. Thankfully, both girls were rescued and are now safe and thriving in a foster home in Amarillo. They can be adopted together or separately — both would do wonderfully in a loving forever home. Cocoa has a wonderful temperament and an easygoing, friendly nature that makes her a joy to have around. She gets along well with other dogs and would be a perfect fit for a family or an individual looking for a loyal best friend. She is smart, eager to please, and already showing what a well-mannered and devoted companion she will become. Cocoa is 45 lb, fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative and kept on proheart — she is healthy, vetted, and ready to go home. Cocoa truly is a dream puppy — full of love, sweetness, and charm — and she is ready to find a forever family where she can be cherished for life. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving, and devoted companion, Cocoa is your girl. 🤍🐶 Her adoption fee of $350 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality Harness and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. She is being fostered in Amarillo, Texas, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. We need the parents to be patient and compassionate towards the changes that these pups are undergoing, being taken away from a home they came to know as their own to a new environment. 3-3-3 Rule of Adoption must be followed at all times to make adoption successful. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Story
**Currently fostered in Houston Texas but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transportation. Virtual meet and greet offered prior to adoption commitment** Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is just over 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. She doesn't mind the cats, She does chase them at times when she just wants to play. Kyra is not an aggressive dog, but she can lack the meaning of personal space and some of the cats we've introduced her to have not taken kindly to that. We think she could do well in just about any home, however, she would prefer to have regular play mates that can keep up with her be it siblings or play mates from friends, neighbors or daycare environment. She just wants to enjoy life with someone! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is working on her impulse control. She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed or couch. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.

Story
Bikini came to us from a small rural shelter where her chances of getting out were very slim. She is a 2 yr old pit/catahoula mix and don’t let her breeds fool you. She’s a total couch potato! She has her moments of zoomies but they don’t last long. While she does live in a foster home with other dogs of all sizes, she is the queen bee and can be a little bossy so she is looking for a home with no other dogs. She loves all people she meets and she is potty trained and crate trained. She has good doggie manners but needs some work on her leash training. She is a puller on the leash but we’ve seen a lot of improvement with the ez walk harness. Bikini is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, heartworm test and spay. If you are interested in adopting Bikini complete the adoption application at the link below. Help rehome the most lovable, easy-going, Margie dog. She’s perfect for someone who does not want a high maintenance dog. She’s a trained dog that loves to be a little couch potato. Margie gets along very well with cats, and has lived with other dogs and got along great! She will do best in a yard and loves cuddling. She’s a great fit for someone that isn’t in the middle of the city like me and would be great if she could live with another smaller dog. I travel too often to give her the love that she deserves. It breaks my heart to let her go, but my greatest concern is for her to be in a place where she’s happy. She comes with everything you would need for her.

Story
Welcome Honey to CCPAL foster Program. Honey is a 3 year old Boxer mixed dog. She is potty trained. We think Honey survived the flood in Kerrville. A good samaritan has taken her in and is giving her good nutrition and love until we find her forever home. She was really scratched up and had a wound on her front left leg. She will be spayed soon and she is going to the vet again for a follow up on her leg. Our guess is it may have gotten broken and healed back on it’s own due to what she has gone through. She is good on a leash, very loving and bonds deeply. She lives with 5 cats right now but she is much too interested and we feel her best home would be without cats. She loves all people and no one is a stranger. She is good with dogs her size and is an energetic girl. Her best home would be with an active and ourdoorsy family that wants a great companion to join them in their outdoor fun. She is looking wonderful and filling out nicely in her new foster home. She lost some muscle around her bum area due to the length of time she was without food. Despite this, she would make an amazing family pet. She would love to be the only dog and be the center of her families attention. She weighs about 40 pounds and is a taller dog but medium weight. She is great in a car and would make a great dog in settings where lots of people are around. She is lower in shedding. She will be getting spayed soon and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Meet Mumu! A lovable, squishy-faced English Bulldog with a big personality, a tender heart, and a whole lot of charm packed into her 3-year-old body. Mumu is looking for a forever home where she can truly be a dog — enjoying companionship, structure, and the comfort of having her people nearby. She thrives when she has company during the day and does best with routine, consistency, and gentle guidance. She’s crate trained and genuinely loves her crate, often choosing it as her favorite place to relax and feel secure. This sweet girl has a playful side and enjoys engaging with her people, though her activity is currently more limited due to healing needs. She’s happiest when she’s included, supervised, and given appropriate outlets to stay mentally enriched without overdoing it physically. Mumu is seeking an experienced adopter, ideally someone familiar with bulldogs or dogs with ongoing medical needs. Her care routine is very manageable for the right person and will feel familiar to those with breed experience. Mumu does have several long-term medical considerations that require commitment and hands-on care. She will need daily and monthly medications, including monthly injections (which she handles like a champ), ongoing management of skin allergies, arthritis pain relief, and careful monitoring to prevent jumping or strain. She also has an upcoming TPLO surgery on her other leg, and we would love for her to recover in a home environment if possible. Down the road, her hips may require surgery as well. Estimated monthly care costs for food and medications are around $275. Her skin care routine includes wiping her feet after outdoor time and keeping her wrinkles clean and dry to prevent dermatitis — small tasks that make a big difference in her comfort and quality of life. Mumu would do best as the only dog in the home and has not been cat tested. A calm, attentive environment with someone who can be present during the day and committed to her physical limitations is essential. Bulldog experience is strongly preferred. Mumu may come with extra responsibility, but she gives back tenfold in affection, loyalty, and that unmistakable bulldog charm. She’s looking for someone who sees beyond her medical needs and is ready to love her fully — wrinkles, routines, and all. Mumu is spayed, crate trained, and available for adoption.
