Story
**Currently fostered in Houston Texas but is available for out of state adoption via rescue transportation. Virtual meet and greet offered prior to adoption commitment** Kyra is a happy go lucky pup who found herself abandoned on the streets. She was emaciated, had poor skin and just full of worms. Thankfully an amazing woman found her and took her in. She got her clean, well fed, and fully vetted. Now, Kyra is ready to start the next chapter in her adventure! Kyra is just over 2 years old, and is a total hambone of a dog. We believe she is some kind of pitbull, retriever, hound mix. Basically what we call, a Texas Street Special! Whatever her breed, she is all adventure pup and very eager for life. Kyra loves people, I don't think she could ever meet a stranger. She's extremely loving, and enjoys cuddles on the couch, giving kisses, and looking cute for treats! We think she would even do wonderfully with children. Kyra has done wonderful with other dogs as well. She is fantastic at her doggie daycare, does well at dog parks, and loves to play. She doesn't mind the cats, She does chase them at times when she just wants to play. Kyra is not an aggressive dog, but she can lack the meaning of personal space and some of the cats we've introduced her to have not taken kindly to that. We think she could do well in just about any home, however, she would prefer to have regular play mates that can keep up with her be it siblings or play mates from friends, neighbors or daycare environment. She just wants to enjoy life with someone! Kyra does very well with training, mostly due to the fact that she's so smart. She learns quickly, and at times, can be TOO smart. Like how she knows how to push the door open if it's not latched properly. She knows her basics such as sit, kennel, stay. Her only need for training is working on her impulse control. She is fully crate trained, and is doing fantastic with her leash training. She is housebroken, but being such a big pup still, we suggest using a kennel until fully acclimated. Though she quite enjoys cuddling in the bed or couch. Kyra is fully vetted, meaning she is current on all vaccinations and preventions. She is spayed as well as microchipped too. For more information on how to adopt Kyra, contact us at MokasMission@Gmail.com.

Story
Bikini came to us from a small rural shelter where her chances of getting out were very slim. She is a good medium size at around 4p lbs. She is a 2 yr old pit/catahoula mix and don’t let her breeds fool you. She’s a total couch potato! She has her moments of running with her doggie friends but they don’t last long. While she does live in a foster home with other dogs of all sizes, she is the queen bee and can be a little bossy. She would do well with other dogs who are submissive or lower energy or as a single dog. She loves all people she meets and she is potty trained and crate trained. She has good doggie manners but needs some work on her leash training. She is a puller on the leash but we’ve seen a lot of improvement with the ez walk harness. Bikini is located in Texas. Her adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, heartworm test and spay. If you are interested in adopting Bikini complete the adoption application at the link below. Story
10 weeks old Everett was part of an "oops" litter of an unfixed mama dog belonging to a kind-hearted homeless lady. Everett and his littermates were suffering from sarcoptic mange and fully dehydrated when they were found by one of our team members who brought them all to our rescue. Everett is a lively and playful pup with a big personality packed into a small body. He’s full of energy and curiosity, always ready to explore, chase toys, and run around with other dogs. Everett has a soft side that craves affection. He doesn’t like being left out and can get a little velcro, Everett is about 10 lb, and growing. He is current on his vaccination, is microchipped and kept on deworming schedule, and heartworm and flea preventatives. He will need one more shot to complete his vaccination cycle. He is going to be neutered before leaving for his adoptive home. He can be transported to any state in USA and Canada. Canadian applicants will need to pick him up from the US side due to Canada's law that prohibits transport of puppies under 8 months in vans. To adopt our puppies, yards, if any, must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences. Adoption applications are available at savesomesouls.com, and if shortlisted as a match, we will reach out to you to schedule a facetime or video chat to meet our pups. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

This girl... where do we even start? Athena is one of those dogs who will completely steal your heart the moment you meet her. She’s been through more than any dog should ever have to, spending her first four years chained up outside in Eastern Washington, braving the harsh weather with no shelter. But despite everything, her heart is nothing but pure, sweet marshmallow.Beanie found love and comfort when she was adopted into a wonderful home on Vashon Island, and for the first time, she knew what it felt like to be cherished. But when her person passed away, Beanie came to us at Haven. It’s been nearly a year now, and we can’t understand how this big, snuggly girl hasn’t found her forever family yet.And truly …she isn’t just any dog—we’re talking about a once-in-a-lifetime companion and soul dog you’ll still talk about years from now. She’s the one who sneaks into bed at night and somehow ends up spooning you like she’s always belonged there. Beanie loves with her whole heart and soul, and while she needs to be your one and only pet, she’ll fill your life in ways you never thought possible. We love her with everything we have, and we know someone out there is waiting for her magic, too. Could it be you? Athena’s Haiku:Chained once, now set free,Waiting with her gentle soul,Your heart is her home. Story
Blue is a sweet 1 year-old pup that loves to play, cuddle and nap. We've had him since he was a few weeks old and has been great with my 8-year-old son. He's spent time with other families and does well with other big and small dogs. He hasn't been around cats. He loves young children but seemed scared of teenage boys. We haven't had much experience with other teenagers so it's hard to say why he was afraid. He's sweet and playful and we will miss him dearly. Unfortunately, we can't keep him in our current place and many of the new leases don't permit a dog or a dog of his size/breed. We are looking for a good home for Sweet Blue.

Story
Oliver is a sweet 9 months old beagle mix who was rescued from an abandoned building of Houston. Oliver is a very adorable and loving puppy, who sleeps from 9 pm to 6 am without a peep. He is used to being by himself as his foster parents work. He lives with two doggie brothers but has not been tested with kitties. He is still a puppy, so he has some puppy energy and is playful. He is also trainable as he is very intelligent. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love. Oliver is currently about 35 lb and fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and kept on heartworm and flea preventative. He may grow up to 45 lb. Watch his video here : https://vimeo.com/1026007976?share=copy#t=0 Sweet Ollie is being fostered in Texas, but can travel to any state, and even Canada for the right home. To meet this gorgeous pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application via www.savesomesouls.com Yards MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences.
