An athletic and active gal, my hobbies include food puzzles, enjoying belly rubs, and tap dancing! I need a kind adopter to make me feel safe and loved for the rest of my years: someone to appreciate my marvelous, unique qualities. His adoption fee is waived, and his adopter will only pay applicable licensing fees.****Hi, I'm Puck! l I'm five years old and have been told I'm a very handsome boy with expressive ears. I'm a fast sprinter and I love to hunt for small critters outside and chase soccer balls!I'm a sensitive soul with a gaze that will turn any frown upside down. Once I trust you, I'm very affectionate and great at giving kisses (or cleaning your ears if they need that)! I know some cool tricks, because I'm a smart pooch and learning is fun! I think treats are amazing; some random favorite treats of mine are fruits and veggies. Leftover kale or broccoli? I'm your man! When you come back home to me, I will always bring a toy to the door to welcome you (I love balls and stuffies)! I also love car rides and I even wear a seat belt! I prefer to go places with you, but I've gotten pretty comfortable staying by myself, and I've never scratched doors or chewed on furniture.Sometimes strange things startle me, so a calm home would be my first choice. I have made great progress, though, and want to continue that work with my forever family. Ultimately, I really connect with my main person, and once you and I know each other, good things can happen. Please be gentle, patient, and clear about what you want! Please be generous with love, space, and treats. Please be playful, and definitely please find my quirks endearing.I hope this has helped you learn about me!***HOW TO ADOPT - Please fill out a Dog Adoption Application, available at http://www.seattle.gov/animalshelter/forms.htm and email it to the Seattle Animal Shelter Foster Dog Program at adoptionreview@gmail.com.IMPORTANT NOTE: Many of our dogs will receive numerous applications, and the Seattle Animal Shelter asks for your patience during the process of finding the very best match. Please find info below on how to adopt her, thanks. How we describe Meri:Playful - Toy + Human = FunSmart - Master of many skillsSnuggly - She likes to be CLOSE!Adorable - The head tilt! The ears!Meri has so much personality. She entertains her people a dozen times a day in a dozen ways. She is super playful, and always has a favorite toy of the moment. She knows her special toys by name and will find the right one when you ask her to. She is a champ at catching balls mid-air. Meri is a smart girl and learns quickly (especially if treats are involved!), so if you are looking to hone your dog-training skills, Meri is the perfect student. She already knows lots of basic commands like sit, down, shake, wait and off. She is super attentive and attuned to her humans; she listens intently when we talk to her, with a tilt of the head and a quizzical look (she watches TV in the same way!). Meri likes to get close and cuddle-she'll curl up on the couch right next to you, or right on you. And if you let her, she will spoon with you in bed! Meri is just as happy to hang out with you and play in your yard (or go on a sniffing expedition while you relax) as go out and about in the world. If you really want some fun, you can set up an agility course and train her to go in and out and over and under obstacles! She loves a challenge. What are you waiting for-come meet Meri; she's playful and loveable and entirely adorable!Meri is eligible for post-adoption training, as well as a reduced adoption fee. She's on social media too! Story
Meet Poppy! This sweet girl found herself in an overcrowded shelter nursing 8 puppies and just trying to survive. She and her puppies were at risk of euthanasia due to space issues at the shelter. We are so glad they are all safe with us now. Her puppies are adopted and Poppy is now ready for a good life of her own.  Poppy is sweet and has come out of her shell so much! She is easygoing in the home and loves to just hang out with you. She loves walks but is not overly energetic. Just a lovely friend to keep you company. She likes things a bit more on the quiet side.  She gets along with other dogs and likes people but can cower a bit when hands approach her too quickly. Clearly, she has not had a great life before and she is building her confidence and with the love of her amazing foster is a blooming flower! From her foster mom: Poppy is playful and likes her treats, I’ve thought she would enjoy agility class or nose work.  She is quite affectionate and enjoys my hugs, kisses, and squeezes! When I am sitting or lying down she is generally making contact.   She is great in the car, enjoys going out with me to run errands, and waits patiently while I get groceries. Poppy is a great dog, a best friend dog, loyal and protective companion. A fun adventurous dog with not too much energy, she can lounge all day while I work and then be up for a long walk. She has been a joy to foster. Poppy would love a home of her own. She is vaccinated and chipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $395   We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Hercules is in a foster home and is currently not at the shelter. Please find info below on how to adopt him, thanks. Hercules is a sweet, smart, affectionate boy. He loves to hug his humans-just like a human, with his front paws over your shoulder! And he'll ask you for belly rubs-he can't get enough of those. Hercules is a cuddler-he'll sleep next to you in bed if you let him, otherwise, he'll curl up on his dog bed nearby- anywhere there is a fluffy blanket. And when it's nap time, he'll curl up on the couch under a cozy blanket. Hercules is a smart boy, too-he knows sit, come here, this way, no, and leave it! He is highly treat-motivated so he'll be eager to learn and easy to teach lots more.If you work from home, he'll spend the day lying by your desk, or sitting by the window where he can watch the world go by (with maybe an afternoon break of a Kong filled with peanut butter and banana). Hercules is very playful-he enjoys all kinds of games-especially playing "sniff games" -he is very good at finding treats you hide for him. Hercules enjoys taking walks and smelling all the smells. He behaves well walking on his leash; he prefers to keep his distance from other dogs and people he sees, but he's easily distracted with treats! After a walk and a treat, Hercules is ready to snuggle. He will cuddle up on your lap or with his head in your hand and go right to sleep. Hercules is well behaved in the house and is fully house trained and crate trained, too. His foster mom says he is loyal and lovable, and the sweetest soul. If you are looking for your very own hero, just like his namesake, come meet our Hercules! He's on social media too! Super sweet playful boy that loves the water and playing tug of war with his yard mates! Great with other dogs and kids, not tested with cats yet (but he didn't seem to care about the kittens in their crate). He is house & crate trained and is doing very well! Story
Meet Biscuit – Darling girl! HISTORY: Biscuit came into rescue in March 2022. She is believed to have been born around March 2020. She is 65-lb pit bull looking to be the baby of her family. Loyal, sweetheart, goofball and loving. If these are qualities you are looking for in your next dog, then read on! FOSTER UPDATE: Biscuit is an active girl who loves daily exercise, long walks & hiking. She has loads of hugs and kisses for you! She is potty trained & has basic training. Biscuit's favorite activities include basking in the glow of her personal space heater, chasing her tail, cuddling with her people, playing with her rope, going on walks and going B-Y-E, B-Y-E in the C-A-R. for fun adventures. Biscuit is a wonderfully sweet dog who is shy when first meeting someone, and needs you to show that you are kind and trustworthy, But once her friend, always your friend! Due to Biscuit not realizing her own size (she thinks she's a 10-lb lapdog), she'd do best in a home with older children and NO small dogs. She wants all your attention and pets and you won't be able to refuse! She previously did live with a cat but it was not a good fit as Biscuit does have a prey drive. (She only chased the cat; she didn't try to harm him). Spayed or Neutered,
Story
HISTORY: Desa was allegedly dumped as a puppy at her previous owners' property two and half years ago. In August 2022, Desa had a litter of puppies. Unfortunately, Desa's owner didn't properly feed Desa or her puppies and occasionally threw table scraps out the front door for them to eat. The amount of food provided was insufficient, and poor Desa and her litter of puppies were starving, ultimately leaving Desa to venture out for more food. On March 5th 2023, Desa's owner voluntarily surrendered her to Red Waggin’ Rescue. When Red Waggin’ arrived to rescue Desa, she growled at our approach. The dog owner took a slip lead and forced her out and into a crate. She was transported directly to our vet, where she was spayed the next day. DESA RESCUED & SPAYED! Since being rescued, Desa has made big strides in her recovery. Desa is in NEED of a Foster or Adoptive Family to help her recover and learn how to love & be loved! We need to rehome a very sweet dog! Her name is Kai. She is a rescue who took care of beginning in late December. The vet said she is probably 1.5-2 years old. She's spayed, but not microchipped. She gives lots of kisses and wags her tail when she sees you. She loves to play fetch and has some basic training: sit, down, come, leave it. Unfortunately, she doesn't get along well with our other dog. In my opinion, she would do best in a home where she is the only dog. Please let me know if you are able to adopt her or know someone who is. We would like her to be rehomed within 2 weeks.

Story
Hannah Bea is the happiest girl, despite the fact she’s been in shelters and boarding for almost a year now!! This wonderful girl deserves a loving home of her own. Even though she has lived in these types of environments for so long, Hannah is always such a friendly girl. She is wonderful with every person she meets and she holds no grudges that she doesn’t have her own people. She will happily go on walks and give affection to anyone that will spend time with her. She loves to go on car rides whenever she can. And even though she’s sometimes a little stiff, she eagerly goes hiking, too. She can be an exuberant girl when she meets new people, with her wiggly little bob-tail and leaning in for affection. You’d never know she is 8-9yrs old! She is a very social, 73lb girl that appears to be a boxer / shepherd maybe lab mix. Whatever her breed, she really is an exceptional girl that deserves a loving family and soft bed of her own. She gets along great with all other dogs and loves to have play dates, but she doesn’t need a playmate in the home. She is not a fan of the kitties though, so no cats, please. Even though she’s a bit of an older gal, she is healthy as can be. She would love to be included on lots of outdoor activities. Hanging out in a large fenced yard of her own would be wonderful, too. She adores children but because she is powerful and can be very wiggly, kids must be over 10yrs old.  If you would like to meet this wonderful girl waiting for her forever home please email infor@k9rr.org and include your phone number.June 7, 2023, 9:22 am

3wk foster needed, until his scheduled neuter surgery. He will then be available for adoption. His foster home will have first option to adopt.Carson is such a nice boy! He is approx 2yrs old and weighs just under 60lbs. He is a typical friendly, wiggly Boxer that would love to have someone take him jogging and hiking. Long walks are a favorite, too. He is a very social boy and enjoys meeting new people so a socially active home would be ideal. He’s great with other animals, too, but he’d love to be the only dog in the home. Carson is great with kids but he does still need more manners so kids must be over 10yrs old. A Boxer experienced home would be best. He must have a 6ft, securely fenced yard. During foster, all supplies are provided. If you could consider fostering Carson for 3 weeks please email info@k9rr.org and include your phone numberJune 7, 2023, 9:22 am

Lua is a boxer mix that was rescued from the streets of Mexico. She is approximately two years old, she is spayed and her vaccinations are up to date. She currently lives with two cats and two dogs. Her temperament is docile in groups, somewhat shy in new spaces, very sweet, active and very good with puppies and children. Lua is an amazing dog, I really love her. I am looking for a responsible, active and loving home for her.
