Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. JERSEY is approximately 1-1.5 yrs old and weighs 55#. She came to us with a litter of 12 puppies that were only about 3 weeks old!!! The story is that the gentleman that brought her to us was in the country and down the street he observed an SUV pull over; place a large black trash bag out on the side of the road and then kick mama dog out and took off. He stopped and opened the bag and there were 12 puppies about 3 weeks old!!! Surprisingly all in good condition. He brought the whole bunch to us. We placed them in our house in an area to the side but not isolated. She got along with ALL of our dogs and had no problems with having all these strange dogs so close to her puppies. She took good care of them and they all lived... very unusual for such a large litter. She worked her way into our routine of the dogs going outside to potty in the back yard so she we could tell she was house trained. She would come in when called and didn't get into any trouble. Her only fault is that she will go after cats...other than that, she really is a perfect dog. She has the sweetest, loving personality. She loves "treat" time and begs with her big brown eyes. She will stay in a confined area or kennel without any struggle or sound. She has not shown ANY aggressiveness of any kind...even though she is Pit Bull. She will make a great companion and the Pit Bull appearance makes her a good guard dog (even though I think she'd probably let the burglar in :). This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You can ask us about how pre-adoption works and our "trial period." If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to WA/OR. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. HOW ABOUT FOSTERING! If you are not in the position to afford a puppy/dog but still want to be an important factor in dog rescue, we recommend fostering. Fostering ensures you incur no vet bills and no boarding fees while saving a life and enjoying the love of a canine companion. We are always in need of good fosters. You can sign up to foster at this link: https://shaynesrescue.com/foster-application/ This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Meet Boogey (yes, like the Boogeyman-but don't worry, this guy is all cuddles and zero scares). If you're looking for a lovable goober with a big ol' noggin, 2-year-old Boogey is your guy! With a spot over one eye that just adds to his irresistible charm, this 58-pound pitty mix is the very definition of an oversized lap dog. He doesn't just want pets-he demands them by plopping right on your lap. Sure, Boogey might not be the brightest bulb in the haunted house, but what he lacks in smarts, he makes up for in heart and energy. He takes his treats gently (and oh boy, does he love them). Despite his wiggly excitement, he's surprisingly good on a leash, so you won't be in for a horror show on your walks. In short: the only thing spooky about Boogey is how scarily fast you'll fall in love with him!The dog adoption fee is $90. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DHPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), and Pyrantel (dewormer). Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than we can get them updated online. If you'd like to check on the status of an animal, please call us at 360-352-2510. This is especially important if you are viewing this animal on any site other than Animal Services' website.

Story
Meet Candy Corn, the snuggliest Halloween treat who's guaranteed to steal your heart-no trick required! This 4-year-old pitbull mix is a big softie with a sweet tooth for cuddles and human companionship. If you're looking for a lap dog (who also happens to be the world's best little spoon), Candy Corn is your guy. He's definitely not the pet for anyone who needs personal space; he's the "we're best friends now, and forever" type. While Candy Corn loves humans, he's not interested in sharing his home with other animals. He's a one-pup show, and trust us, his personality is big enough to fill the whole house! His treat-taking skills are top-notch-gentle and polite, just like a true gentleman. So, if you're ready to add some sweetness to your life, come on down and meet Candy Corn! He'll be your loyal sidekick, ready to haunt your heart (in the best possible way) for all the Halloweens to come. The dog adoption fee is $90. They come spayed/neutered, microchipped, first set of vaccines including DHPP (parvo combo), Bordatella (kennel cough), and Pyrantel (dewormer). Story
Hi, my name is Commander and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Mar 23, 2024. I’m all about being close to you—snuggling up or even sharing your pillow, if you’ll let me! I’m a big guy, though, and sometimes I forget just how big I am, so get ready for lots of love. On walks, I like to take my time, sniffing everything and making sure everyone knows I’ve been there. Tug toys are my absolute favorite, and I love a good game!

Hi, my name is Candy and I would love to meet you. I have been at the shelter since Jun 21, 2024. I love greeting new friends by happily shoving a toy right into their hand or lap—it’s my favorite way to say hello. When I’m not playing, I’m the best cuddle buddy and love snuggling up close. Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. SCOOBY is a big boy...at least 65#. His estimated DOB is 1/5/2020...so he is almost 4 yrs old. He is a very FUN dog and loves playing with other dogs but he is exuberant and easily intimidates smaller dogs. He would be a great companion dog for a large breed dog. He loves everyone and just wants to play. He has not had in-house training...in a shelter with lots of dogs, the big ones don't necessarily get the royal treatment. He has been leash trained and loves to go on walks. After he get rid of the initial excitement about going out, he walks gently on the leash. I do not trust him with a cat. If it runs, he will chase. He sees them as lots of fun. Scooby would be great with a family with older children. Smaller ones would probably get knocked down during playtime. He needs a home with large back yard, I would not recommend him for an apartment.
