Hi! My name is Nuvia and I am available for adoption.I was brought in as a stray originally and then adopted. I was returned by my adopters because I have a hard time being home alone. I lived in a home with adults. My previous owner described me as playful and outgoing. I don`t know any commands yet but I`m an eager pup who`s ready to learn! I`m food motivated so teaching me new things should be a snap. I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy. I would do best in a home with older children due to general bounciness. I weigh 38lbs and am considered a medium size dog.I`m a playgroup pal! So far I`ve played with one other dog of a similar size and did very well. Make sure to ask staff about my interactions with other dogs to hear me! My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Hi! My name is Zero and I am available for adoption.I was orginally brought to RASKC by a good samaritan on January 11, 2024. I was adopted and returned on April 13, 2024 after a couple of months because it was just not a right fit due to my high energey levels and space needed to run!I weigh 54.5 lbs and am considered a `medium breed` dog.I am VERY treat motivated and will happily `sit`, `shake` and `lay down` for them :)The shelter thinks I am mixed with a husky which means I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.I am looking for a family that is outdoorsie or athletic who is willing to take me on long walks, hikes or adventures :)My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Story
Hi! My name is Sunny and I am available for adoption. I was brought in by a good samaritan on January 13, 2024.I`m a fun loving, friendly and happy boy! While I`ve been at RASKC, I`ve been going to playgroup with other dogs and I absolutely love it. I`ve only played with other medium size dogs, but I bet I could get along with just about anyone. I`m pretty easy going when I`m in a kennel, I spend a lot of time lazing around so I probably have a good `off switch.` I`m looking forward to summer and hope I can spend it being the light of my new familys life!I weigh 62lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I can get excited and bouncy when the energy around me gets high so I would probably do best in a home with older children. I tend to be a bit overly interested in cats and may do best in a home without small animals or a home that`s willing to take introductions very slow.I went into a foster home and this is what they said about me: Meet Sunny, a sweet and loving guy, with the most stunning eyes and big heart. He is around three years old and 62lbs and would be happy to be your lap dog if you let him. He is a total snuggle bug and gives big kisses once he warms up to new people.Sunny is house trained and hasn`t had any accidents inside while in his foster home. He is crate trained and does great in his crate at night and while alone for short periods.Sunny absolutely loves his toys! His favorites are his cheese-stuffed Kong, and stuffed animals (the super strong ones, because he can CHEW!) His toys are important, as he has an active mind and needs plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He is a smart boy, learning new things every day. He has mastered `sit`, `shake` and `down`. He is working on his recall and working on his leash manners. He likes treats and takes them very gently.Sunny is a bit too interested in small animals like rabbits, birds, and squirrels, and wants to chase them. So, a home without smaller animals is best.He is a large and goofy pup that sometimes forgets how big he is, so a home without small children would be best. This snuggle bug just wants to please his people and be loved. He cannot wait to find his forever home and be your ray of sunshine!

Hi! My name is Persimmon and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by an Animal Control Officer on January 1, 2024 along with my pal when we were found roaming in a store.I weigh 81.0 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I may weight 81.0 lbs, but I am truly a big baby! I can be head shy at first, but once I warm up to you I just want to be near you and will nuzzle your hand when I feel like you`re not giving me the attention I want :)I am VERY treat motivated and can easily be won over with them!Due to my shy nature I would do best in a home without younger children (fast movements and loud noises startle me).The staff at RASKC mention that I am the best snuggler and have been the best office dog! I don`t make a peep and just love to nap.My personality color is BLUE. I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend!Persimmmon received a basic physical exam, in addition to routine vaccines, deworming, and topical flea preventative, if indicated. Although she is ready for adoption, there is always a possibility of additional medical conditions that have not been detected or may develop in the future. Current medical conditions are noted below.1) Bilateral elbow dysplasia characterized by an ununited anconeal process. Evidence of osteoarthritis. Decreased range of motion in both elbows. Radiographic concern of mild hip dysplasia.Pain management and joint supplements are recommended. Consult with your veterinarian for a treatment plan.Additional care for these conditions may be needed after adoption. Please follow up with your regular veterinarian.

Hi! My name is Tater and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by my previous owner on 2/20/24 because their landlord did not allow pitbulls. My previous owner described me as very friendly and outgoing but also that I don`t know my own weight so I tend to jump on people a lot and might knock you over by accident. My previous owner stated that I did well around other dogs and cats and had no issues meeting new people. They stated that I do need some work with potty training and that I tend to be a counter surfer. Some training would be very beneficial for me so I can be the great dog I know I can be!I love playing and tennis balls seem to be a favorite of mine. I also am a very smart boy! I know sit, down, and shake. I am excited to learn even more fun tricks! My personality color is RED. I am a spirited dog with a fun-loving personality! I am still working on my manners, so I would do best with a family who is willing to work with me and help me become the best dog I can be!

Hi! My name is Everest and I am available for adoption.I was brought in by a good Samaritan on March 8th, 2024.Here`s a cool fact about my name: I`m named after Mount Everest. I`m the oddball here in the shelter as my Mountain is located in the Himalayans. It is currently the highest point on Earth at 29,035ft (8,850m). I don`t think i`m quiet ready for a climb like this one, but I`m all for the local trails all around Washington!I weigh 70 lbs and am considered a `large breed` dog.I am a very smart dog! At the shelter I am practicing how to `sit`, `stay`, and `down`.I am an affectionate lovebug who would be thrilled to cuddle up with you at home! My favorite thing to do is to play with humans and just have fun. I`m the biggest love bug in the world.I am full of energy and I love to play! I tend to calm down more when the people around me stay calm. I do best when I have lots of exercise and something to keep my mind busy.Just for the best warning though; I`ve got the legs of a kangaroo!! Fences are nothing to me so it`s best not to leave me alone in the yard. I have also have a pretty high prey drive with small critters. I`m a Playgroup Pal! Ask the staff today about my interactions with other dogs at the shelter in our Playgroups. My personality color is RED. I am an adaptable dog who loves to go with the flow, but i`m also very spirited and fun-loving! I am outgoing and carefree, and I just can`t wait to find my forever home!
