Story
Hi everyone! My name is Miss Billie and I am the cutest little girl. I am just 1 year old and I weigh 35 lbs. I am adorable in every way with my beautiful, soft, chocolate brown fur and white markings. I am a bundle of joy who wiggles with unabashed excitement when you walk in the door. I am a lovergirl and a lapdog. I love to cuddle and spend time with you. I am content to cuddle on the couch on a rainy day and play fetch in the yard when the wet stuff stops. Not only am I a lover and a cuddler, but I am also a great listener and a quick study. That means I am smart and a quick learner. I come when called, I sit for snacks and I am incredibly responsive to positive reinforcement trick training. While I have energy and I love to play, I am also great at entertaining myself with a bone or chew toy. I do have some fears in life, like dogs I don't know and strangers. I am working on it though. I am learning that new people aren't so scary, but it's not a fast process. I have made friends with other dogs in my life, but I am still fearful and reactive when meeting new ones.
I hope to find a forever home with someone who is patient and who will help me learn that the world doesn't have to feel quite so scary. Paws for Life will show you how. I have a high prey drive to chase and catch small furry things, so no cats in my new home is best for everyone. I really enjoy human companionship. I am the sweetest pup with my people. I am housetrained, too. Give me a chance. Please apply today! Adoption fee: $80. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.
Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
