Story
Lady, cattledog mix, 5 yo, 60 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. It is hard to understand how this gentle angel, still almost a puppy, could be abandoned. We so hope to find stable loving home for her. Adoption fee $325. Story
Meet Waldo — our one-of-a-kind survivor  Waldo is a handsome 1-year-old Pitt-Heeler mix with a heart of gold and a story of strength. This gentle soul has been through more than most — he’s a distemper survivor, which left him with some neurological quirks and a little extra wobble (dance prance) in his step. But what really sets him apart isn’t what he’s been through… it’s how much love he still has to give.  Once a likely feral dog, Waldo’s world has been scary and unpredictable — but he’s learning what it means to feel safe, one day and one treat at a time. He’s still shy with strangers, but with his foster, he’s a total goofball: jogging everywhere he goes, prancing through the house, and proudly hogging every blanket and fuzzy pillow he can find.  Waldo is looking for a very special person — maybe that’s you? He needs a calm, patient, and loving home where safety and routine come first. Someone who:  Feels rewarded by earning trust, not instant affection  Can provide a secure yard and careful handling (he will bolt if scared — he earned his name that way!)  Understands that treats = love in Waldo’s world  Enjoys cozy nights in and slow progress that leads to a lifetime bond Waldo enjoys other dogs and could thrive with a confident canine buddy. Cats? Waldo LOVES cats, even if they don't always understand him. He may never be the dog who greets every stranger or walks perfectly at heel, but he’ll be your dog — loyal, silly, tender, and true. The kind of love that feels hard-won and absolutely worth it.  Waldo is looking for his Forever, or a new or even a part-time foster so we can get him used to, and more confident with, more people. If you can offer patience, safety, and a whole lot of heart, Waldo is waiting for you. Learn more or apply to meet him at EAPL.com.  His adoption fee is $375 January 5, 2026, 10:04 am

Story
My day in the life with Stix on 5/3/25, I was his photographer...  Stix is intelligent, he is ready for adventure and enjoys walks and treats. Going for rides to a new park. Enjoys his own space. Other dogs aren’t always his cup of tea. Prefers being the one and only.  He is loyal to his people. He thrives best with all the attention(single dog home). Stix learned a new recall just from the hour  walk we took with the trainer on the long leash. He is in need of mental stimulation along with physical stimulation. Stix has a mixture of breeds gives him beautiful colors in his fur and his eyes are light and dreamy. He would be a perfect match for an active person. A previous dog owner may offer the awareness and the importance routine offers to an intelligent dog. Someone who enjoys an attachment to a doggy friend that loves to chase a ball  and use his athletic ability. He requires an investment that will allow him to build trust with consistency. To allow the bond and safety he seeks in his person.   Ideally, a home that has had experience with loving a dog needing someone willing to develop a relationship and build trust.  To meet Stix, put in an application at  www.eapl.com .   His  Sponsored Adoption Fee is $75 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F03ALyDS-_E https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9_GcmmRUQiw Stix is (est. birthday is 1/18/2020) a total catch. He is smart, food motivated and has been through basic training. He knows how to sit, lay down, stay, shake, rollover and has the cutest, most majestic wolf howl. He LOVES to play fetch, hike and go running. He is crate-trained and house-trained and loves puzzle toys and bones and any games you might teach him. He would do best as a solo dog and no cats and older kiddos. He would make a great companion for an active household.    January 5, 2026, 10:49 am

*****Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*********** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. He’s loving and playful, and with continued positive training, will only improve his manners. This boy LOVES walks and has a zest for getting out and about. He can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. He’s fully house trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised, usually sticking to his gated area and dog bed like a gentleman. While he hasn’t been crated in his foster home, he’s done very well with the freedom and would likely thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule. Mylo is currently fed separately from the other dogs—not because he’s aggressive, but because he prefers not to share his snacks or special treats. (Honestly, who among us does?) With his people, though, he’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate. He greets his foster dad with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations, looking like the happiest dog in the world—with his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging in full swing. He’s also very smart and responsive to redirection. He listens when called, loves being praised, and wants so badly to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine and benefits from clear communication and a bit of structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects (like a broom), so a patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best. Here’s what Mylo is hoping for in his forever home: - A moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe - A few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy and keep him happy - A family who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention - People who embrace his quirky personality and celebrate his uniqueness - Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking (he’s already working on it!) - A home with older kids (10+) and maybe a friendly dog buddy or two - And most importantly: a soft place to land and be loved for exactly who he is Mylo is a one-of-a-kind pup with a silly smile, a loyal heart, and so much love to give. He’s smart, affectionate, endlessly goofy, and ready to find a family who sees his magic. If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick who will keep you laughing, snuggling, and moving, Mylo might be the perfect match for you. ___ **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ** Interested in applying to adopt him?
