Story
Sonya is doing great with crate and potty training. She is coexisting well with a cat in the home and really friendly towards other dogs -- she is loving playing with both dogs and cat in her foster home. She is very people friendly and has a playful, curious, and loving personality and would do well as an only dog or with other pets in the home. Since she is a cattle dog/husky mix, she will need an active home dedicated to her training. She is showing interest in toys, loves to play tug, is a fast learner, and we think she’d make an amazing hiking/running/biking partner in the future! Sonya does well in the car, doing well with stairs, learning to like playing in the water, and even if she is nervous to try new things initially, she finds her confidence quickly. Mom is 30 pound husky/cattle dog mix, dad is unknown. Will come fully vetted and with 2 free dog training sessions.

Rusty does well walking on a leash. He knows sit, down roll-over, and is working on other basic commands with his foster mom!  He is so treat-motivated he is easy to work with! Rusty would love a playmate to run around and play with who is respectful and will give him time to warm up to them (he can be new doggie shy for a few minutes.) Rusty’s ideal home would have a fenced backyard where he can sunbathe and run around with his new friends. Please consider welcoming this boy into your family! His adoption fee is $375 Put in an application at eapl.comJuly 19, 2024, 2:14 pm

Story
Tootsie is an introverted queen, she is selective about the people that she truly relaxes around - but once you're in, you're in. You'll know when this happens when she starts cuddling up next to you on the couch as you watch your favorite show. She can be nervous, especially with trying new things, so being patient and working to build up her confidence is a must! When she's comfortable with someone, she is down to chill in the grass, go for a walk, play with her toys (or friends), or take naps on the couch.Tootsie is fully potty trained and is good with going into her crate. This could be overnight, when you're out running errands, or if you need a moment to vacuum the carpet and just need some space. She does really well with scent work and LOVES playing hide and seek with her treats. Also, don't worry about breaking down your Amazon boxes - Tootsie will do this for you. Cardboard boxes have quickly become a favorite "toy" of hers.Tootsie would do well either as a solo dog with the opportunity to socialize frequently, or as a nice addition to an established pack! ##1981525##

Are you looking for an absolute buddy?!  Liam is it!  This young guy is zesty for life outside the shelter!  Walk? Yep! Hike or run? Double Yep!  Need a work from home buddy? Also yep! Need a cat sitter? Liam is your guy and loves snuggling up to cats or playing gentle! He loves to follow you around and is equal parts adventure buddy and chill mode.  He is super smart and very eager to please! He is kennel trained, he prefers the wire ones and somewhere he can see you - but if it needs to be alone he relaxes right into his space.  He entertains himself with toys and will play tug with your playful dog! He learned the dog door with about 4 demonstrations of how it works - did I mention super smart?  He also learned sit and with the right hand movement to ground will lay down too! Training him will be a breeze and a great bonding experience for both him and you! He leans in for pets and absolutely loves to be loved on.  Come meet him Saturdays at Petco Denver, 4100 E. Mexico Ave from 12-3:30pm.  ##2046830##

Story
Leo is a 10 week out Aussie mix weighing about 9lbs.  We are guessing he will be about 40-50lbs when full grown.  Leo and his 2 siblings are the only survivors after being dumped on the middle of no where.  Someone found Momma and the babies right when they were born and brought them to a shelter.  Unfortunately only 3 survived, but now they are happy, healthy, and ready to find their forever families.   Leo and his sister, Violet are both super adorable bundles of fluff and energy.  They show their aussie side with their happy, puppy energy.  They love to run around and play, play play.  They are incredibly smart and are learning quickly.  They have been with a wonderful foster who has done great with socializing and training them, so they are on their way to being the most amazing puppies.  Leo will need a home with an active family or a family who has another dog to play with.  Once he gets his energy out he is a super sweet, snuggly, loving pup, but he will absolutely need an outlet for his energy on a daily basis. If you are interested in adopting Leo or his sister Violet please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2116435##

Story
Meet Little Bear! Little Bear is a sweet and loving three-year-old Australian Shepherd. He's only known life as a beloved family member. The only reason he's looking to find a new home is that his family recently had a baby. Bear rides great in the car, enjoys hikes and is doing super well hiking off leash in the mountains. He is housetrained and super loves training with his people. He is great with dogs and has no experience with cats. He would love to live a fun lifestyle. Little Bear has always lived in the mountains, but he regularly goes to daycare in Boulder and does well there. We don't think he would do well in a condo or apartment and are looking for more of a mountainish home for him (or Boulder where he could hike in the foothills regularly). We at SDR absolutely love this dog! He's a special soul, and his people want to set him up for continued happiness and success. A nominal adoption fee would be paid to his current guardians. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Little Bear, send us an email at summitdogrescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly.
