Story
Alvin is an incredibly cute ball of fun that climbs into your heart (and lap) with a wag and a kiss. Alvin is truly beautiful with his stunning coat and dark eyes with wisdom beyond his years. Once this sweet as can be guy gets a sudsy bat, he'll absolutely be one of the most adorable pups around. At just 1 year old and a very petite 27 lbs, Alvin is a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere a very sweet and engaging dog is welcome while being large enough to be an active best friend enjoying outdoor fun with his family. Alvin is believed to be a Cattle Dog mix. From Alvin's foster: "I love, love, love this foster. Alvin is smart, loving, obedient and potty trained!!! He eats well, walks on leash well and loves chasing squirrels around the yard. He sleeps through the night on a dog bed at foot of bed, and gets along great with my other dogs. " Alvin loves everyone, be it human or canine. We want to nurture this positive vision of the world by matching Alvin to a family who expresses their devotion for him in many different ways. We'd like Alvin to attend virtual or in-person positive reinforcement obedience classes to be the very best adult dog he's capable of being. We also feel Alvin would be most comfortable with an adult family or one with older, dog-crazy kids..we wouldn't want tail pulling or awkward handling by very young children. Right now, Alvin is a blank slate who will soak up positive feedback with every effort to be the best behaved and most cuddly guy around. Alvin is such a pleasure that he can easily be a constant companion and would love nothing more than being together enjoying and learning from his family. Alvin has been fully vetted and vaccinated to fulfill Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to insure he's never a contributor to the overpopulation crisis in the canine world. Alvin is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Alvin please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Wiley is the goodest boy, who is searching for his forever home. Wiley was rescued from a rural shelter in Texas that is known for "shooting dogs out back" when they've been at the shelter for more than a month. We know, it's absolutely horrible. When we saw Wiley's face pop up we knew we had to get him out of there. Wiley was relinquished to this shelter by his family that had him since he was a puppy because they had to move and their new home didn't allow dogs... Wiley transported from Texas to Colorado in August, and has been living his best life with his foster mom since then, and waiting to find his forever home. Wiley is a 2 year old Cattle Dog mix. He is just 39 lbs. He is pretty dang perfect -- Social, dog friendly, cat friendly, kid friendly, crate trained, and potty trained! Wiley's foster had the following to say about this special guy: * * * * "Are you ready to meet the goofiest and most loving boy around? Seriously this guy loves people and loves other dogs, and cannot wait to be your best friend! Wiley is a young Cattle Dog mix, so he is active and will do best in an active home who enjoys hiking or walking, and/or one with another doggy sibling for him to play with. He loves to play play play with his foster siblings but does leave my older dogs alone when they don't want to play. He likes toys, especially tennis balls but he definitely prefers playing with other dogs. We have 2 cats and 4 large dogs and he does amazing here. Wiley really hits all the "amazing dog" marks! He is: -Potty trained! -Dog friendly! -Cat friendly! -Crate trained! -Great on leash! -Great in the car! -Huge snuggle bug! -Not destructive! -Very quiet! -Good with kids (over 8)! -Active, but has an off switch! -Adapts quickly to new environments! He absolutely loves to go for adventures and sniff around. He's a really, really good dog!" * * * * We envision Wiley with a younger couple or individual who work from a home-based office. Active retirees would be a great match too, as long as Wiley can get the energy out that he needs. We feel that Wiley is too sensitive a guy to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. This really smart guy will be a natural in positive reinforcement / force free group obedience classes. Wiley will love the challenge and is so smart and wanting to please that we have no doubt that he'll excel. Farfel's feels so strongly that positive training classes are imperative for the long-term relationship between humans and dogs that we're unwilling to adopt Wiley to a family that doesn't choose a training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement / force free trainers in your area. Wiley has been vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to stay true to our commitment to end euthanasia in the overpopulated canine community. Wiley is available for adoption now! Applications are currently being accepted for our gorgeous pup. If interested in this very cuddly, super-smart and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Wiley please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Story
Tulip is going to be an amazing family dog! She is a gentle girl whose breeds deceive the incredibly mellow disposition that she actually has. Little Tulip came down with us and was quite shy. She got over that at the foster home, and now loves to play with the other dogs in the house and enjoys getting pets, though she is still a bit shy out of the home. She is going to be a snuggler who follows your every command and loves you every day. She is gentle and goofy and is crate trained and house trained. We are working on her walking on a leash, but for now she feels most comfortable simply in the back yard. Tulip enjoys children almost more than anything; in fact, children are one thing that gets her tail wagging quickly, and feeling safe in a home. She does play and run, and is fine letting other dogs know when she wants the toy or is done playing, and then just chills out and is thrilled getting loved in a home. As she has been growing, she is getting long and lean, as seen in her new pics. She would love to be your partner and sleep on your feet all day long after a walk or excursion!

Lady, cattledog mix, 3 yo, 46 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. It is hard to understand how this gentle angel, still almost a puppy, could be abandoned. We so hope to find stable loving home for her. Adoption fee $325.
