Hi Im Ford You should know me buy now as I am a local and Texas celebrity.. I was found roaming the streets of Texas with a pack of dogs but because of how sweet and submissive I am, I was attacked pretty bad leaving a LOT of bite marks and wounds all over my neck. Truly crazy how I survived. These nice ladys down there saw me and saved me from the streets and took me to the vet. Since im so submissive i just let them grab me and take me to the vet I am now in a foster home in Fort Collins with a dog trainer and living with another cattle dog and getting proper exposure to other dogs in training. I love my cattle dog sister but don’t enjoy playing with small dogs or puppies right now. I am such a sweet boy and cant wait to find my forever home. My full personality is still showing but I am a classic cattle dog that demand barks, likes to play bite, has a good amount of energy and I loveee to cuddle and snuggle! Please note he is HW Positive and will need to complete his treatment in his next home in which we will pay for. Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see a sweet young dog that needs our help. Scarlet is one of these dogs that deserves, due to her excellent temperament and all the love she'll bring to a family, to have a wonderful home filled with pure love and nurturing. Scarlet is the kind of dog that once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. Scarlet is a gorgeous 34 lb, 10 month old Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler mix that is nothing but pure love. Scarlet's breeds were identified by Texas veterinarians..all we know for certain is that this sweet girl is irresistible! This pup is SO sweet and once acclimated to her new life, will make a wonderful addition to a dog-loving Colorado family. Scarlet's Texas rescuer has the following to brag about sweet Scar...What else can I say other then that this girl is pretty much perfect? Sweet Scarlet is great with other dogs big and small and even enjoys cats. She walks well on a mostly loose leash and loves absolutely everyone she meets (including an 8-year old girl she fell in love with on a walk!). Scarlet has a mellow and easy going personality and is the world's greatest cuddler. The family that adopts Scarlet is very lucky..they're getting a gem! Scarlet is a perfect size to be able to accompany her family just about everywhere a medium-sized dog is welcome. She will fit right into virtually every situation due to her great temperament and very sweet personality. Our dream for Scarlet is a forever Colorado home with a family that cherishes her for life. As Scarlet becomes comfortable in her forever home, she'll blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more Scarlet will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see our wonderful girl in a home that includes her in family time and activities (and some couch-time with belly rubs would be absolutely perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a smart and cooperative dog like Scarlet the skills to accompany her family out into the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Scarlet will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, fun-loving and irresistible young dog. She would love to have another gentle and fun dog to play with but it's not mandatory if her people are nurturing and involved. Scarlet would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and periodic cuddles throughout the day that this life-style brings. Scarlet's stunning coat (with the most gorgeous markings ever!) is currently shelter-sad. She will require a lifelong commitment to periodic baths / brushing, excellent 5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement. This regimen will promote great health as well as a cottony-soft coat that is shining with excellent health. Scarlet has been fully vetted and is up to date on her vaccinations. This supports Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. She has yet to be spayed however. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Scarlet's spay / microchip following her arrival in Boulder if one of our rescue vets is used. Scarlet will be arriving on transport in Boulder on Wednesday 4/9/2025. Applications are currently being accepted for this sweet and very loving best friend and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-res. cue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Scarlet please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Ireland has been with us since February, and we can’t figure out why she hasn’t found her forever family yet — because she’s truly a gem of a dog! This sweet, cuddly girl is happiest in a dog park, at doggy daycare, or snuggled up in her foster dad’s lap. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love to have a canine companion in her forever home. Ireland is a darling 1 year old, 30 lb Jack Russell Terrier / Cattle Dog mix. We can't speak to the accuracy of this breed mix (although we can see both breeds in this beautiful girl)...what we can speak to is her sweetness and her value as a wonderful family companion. Ireland is a bit shy at first—she just needs about 5-10 minutes to warm up to new people, and then she’s all tail wags and affection. She’s been thriving in foster care, where she’s shown how smart and adaptable she is. Like many dogs, she may bark when she sees other pups out on a walk, but her fosters are working on it with treats and positive reinforcement—and she’s improving beautifully! Off-leash, at a dog park, or at home, she is amazing with other dogs and plays very well. She loves making doggy friends! From Ireland's foster: * * * * "Ireland is an incredibly affectionate and social pup who absolutely loves other dogs! She thrives in off-leash play, does amazing at doggy daycare, and loves playing and cuddling with her foster brother. She shares the house amazingly with my dogs -- they can play all day long and cuddle together all night long. Ireland is a great dog and a very quick learner. She is SO smart! She took really well to crate training and sleeps in her crate at night and goes in it when we leave her home. She is fully potty trained! Walks can be stressful for her sometimes, but she is getting more confident daily and does super well when we bring treats on walks. She would love a home with a yard that she can play in instead! She would also love a home with a dog friend -- she really really REALLY loves other dogs and playing with them. She is very very affectionate with people as well, and adores my boyfriend and I and is a major cuddler." * * * * Farfel's Rescue has found over time and thousands of rescue dogs that families that attend virtual or in-person training classes with an approved positive reinforcement / force free trainer generally keep their dogs for life. Dogs that don't receive the benefit of proper training and socialization have a much higher risk of being rehomed or far worse, being abandoned. There is a bonding that occurs between a dog and their family through the training process that can't be duplicated. It also teaches behaviors that enable a pup to go out into the world with excellent manners that create a respectful relationship between dogs and their humans. It is for all these reasons that Farfel's isn't willing to adopt to a family that doesn't choose to participate in this training relationship. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/ force-free trainers in your area. We envision active, dog-crazy retirees for our sweet Ireland. She would respond so well to the love and attention that this group offers. Ireland would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office to love her up periodically throughout the day. We feel that our sweet girl is too sensitive to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Ireland will be up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fulfill our promise to work toward a euthanasia-free future in the canine population. Ireland is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet pup. If interested in this gorgeous and cuddly best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Ireland please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Story
Our family is looking for a loving home for our pup Timber. Timber is a loving 9 yo mini Aussie border collie. T is so affectionate, loves cuddles, loves running, walking, fetching, really anything outside. Timber does not like car rides, new things, and being on leash. Timber can be very anxious in new situations and takes some time and treats to be comfortable. Timber would do best in a home with older children (children who won’t grab his tail etc.) I’ve had Timber since he was a puppy and he is so smart. He learns new tricks so quickly and currently knows sit, lay down, up (stand on hind legs), bow, and spin. T gets along well with other dogs when he is off leash and he has great recall but when he is on leash he has leash reactivity. We’ve navigated this by always having high value treats to distract him when he is on leash. It is very hard for me to rehome T but I want him to have the best life possible and unfortunately my family can no longer give that to him.

Meet Maggie, the Sweet and Lovable Husky Mix! About Maggie: Maggie is a delightful Husky mix with a heart of gold. Her stunning blue eyes and soft, fluffy coat make her a beauty to behold, but it's her sweet and friendly nature that will truly capture your heart. While Maggie may be a bit shy when you first meet her, she quickly warms up once she feels comfortable. Her gentle demeanor and loving personality make her the perfect companion for a family or individual looking to add a furry friend to their home. Training: M aggie has basic training under her belt, which means she knows commands like sit, stay, and come. She's also house-trained and walks well on a leash. While she may need a little time to adjust to new routines, her eagerness to please and intelligent nature make her a quick learner. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog: Adopting a dog is a rewarding experience that comes with responsibilities and joys. Here are some things to consider: Adjustment Period: Every dog needs time to adjust to their new home. Be patient with Maggie as she learns to trust and feel secure in her new environment. Time and Commitment: Dogs require daily exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. Make sure you have the time to devote to Maggie's needs, including playtime, training, and walks. Veterinary Care: Regular check-ups, vaccinations, and preventative care are essential to keep Maggie healthy. Be prepared for both routine and unexpected veterinary visits. Training and Socialization: Continue Maggie's training to reinforce good behavior and manners. Socializing her with other dogs and people will help her become a well-rounded and confident dog. Love and Affection: Maggie will thrive in a home where she receives plenty of love, attention, and positive reinforcement. Building a strong bond with her will bring immense joy and companionship. Why Maggie? Maggie is more than just a pretty face; she's a loyal and loving companion ready to shower you with affection. Her initial shyness is quickly replaced with a warm and friendly demeanor once she feels safe. If you're looking for a sweet, well-behaved, and loving dog to join your family, Maggie might just be the perfect match. If interested please go to our website and fill out an application.
