Story
Are you looking for an adorable, quiet, low-maintenance dog that would be equally happy to keep you company indoors at home and on brisk walks in quiet woods a few times a week? Jazzy is the perfect companion for you! Jazzy immediately wins the hearts of strangers with her friendly, outgoing spirit and striking looks. She’s a beautiful 3-year-old, 37 lb. Aussie mix. She is independent, extremely well-behaved, and fully housebroken. She is also very smart and knows a range of commands (check out that video below). Jazzy is a little cautious around other dogs, especially energetic ones, and likes to be the center of attention with her humans so she should be the only dog in her forever home. Jazzy is a very special dog. She was treated for two tick-borne illnesses and has some permanent musculoskeletal issues that she was probably born with. She has a signature “twist” to her posture and an off-kilter gait. She is a bit anxious around moving vehicles so her happy places are indoors and in the tranquility of nature. Jazzy is being treated for her anxiety and joint health with medicine. This sweetie pie does need to be lifted in and out of cars but can get herself up and down flights of stairs (padding or carpeting helps) and happily navigates moderately strenuous hikes despite her issues (check out that video below too)! She may never jump in the air to catch a frisbee, but she will greet you excitedly and shower you with hugs and kisses when you get home and sleep contentedly at your feet. Jazzy would love it if you could give her a peaceful life with plenty of time in the country where she can flourish! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet Belle! Belle is an incredibly sweet 10 month old, 37 lb cattle dog mix. She gets along well with most dogs after a proper introduction; she does get nervous with dogs running up to her that she doesn’t know. Belle currently lives with two dogs and gets to play with some of her dog friends weekly. She will chase animals she sees outside (squirrels, deer) so a home without cats would be best. Belle is very active and energetic; she rarely stops moving, even when she is trying to cuddle. Belle loves to play with her toys inside or outside and loves water. She would make a great dog for a family who wants to hike or spend lots of time with her outside exploring. The sweetheart makes friends everywhere she goes, and she is sure to melt your heart! Story
Meet Isis! She was rescued from an area where there is an abundance of homeless dogs and not a lot of shelter space for them to go while they wait for their forever homes. She is good with kids and other dogs and will also do well with cats. She is still working on potty/crate training. We think Isis will be around 50-60lb full grown. Isis is looking for a foster or forever home! She will be arriving at Adopt A Dog’s shelter in Armonk, NY on 5/30/2023 ready for adoption!   THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING ONE OF OUR AMAZING RESCUE DOGS - WE CAN’T WAIT TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND! The first step in getting started with our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application on our website at www.adopt-a-dog.org. We welcome you to come visit our shelter! Meet & greets will be set up by appointment once your application has been received & processed. If a dog is still listed on Petfinder, we are still accepting applications for them! (We do request that you list a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of puppy if there are multiple in the litter, as we wish everyone was able to adopt their first choice but sometimes that isn’t feasible.)   *Name: Isis *Rescued from: Tennessee *Adoption fees: Puppies up to 1 year: $550 Young Adult (1-4 years): $475 Adult (4-7 years): $400 Senior (8+ years): $300 *Health: up to date on puppy shots so far (adopter will be responsible for remaining puppy vaccinations), spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed *If the dog you are adopting is not yet spayed/neutered at the time of adoption, we require a $150 deposit in addition to the adoption fee (to be refunded upon proof of surgery within 6 months of adoption)   ** Please note that we are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is often limited. We encourage you to consider individual personality rather than relying on a label – meeting a dog in person is the best way to make sure it’s love!   FAQs: WHAT IS THE ADOPTION PROCESS?: The first step in adopting an AAD puppy is to fill out an application via our website www.adoptadog.org. Once we receive your application, one of our application processors will contact you, and answer any questions you may have. We will also ask for additional information if needed (landlord or veterinarian contact information, or other based on your application). Once an application has been approved, we will schedule a mutually convenient time for a meet & greet! We do not operate on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy.   HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO ADOPT?:  You must be age 25 or older to apply to adopt. If you live in a home with other people (ie parents, relatives) the person who will be financially responsible for the care of the dog should be the one to fill out the application.   HOW CAN I MEET THE ADOPTABLE DOGS?: Meet and greets will be scheduled once your adoption application has been fully processed by one of our adoption processors. Please be sure to fill out the application as thoroughly as possible, as we want to make sure we find you the perfect match!   *If you have any additional questions that have not been answered, please e-mail info@adoptadog.org! ##1729350##
