Little Lady (approximately 42 pounds)was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. She is very clearly a Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler, and she is a fantastic example of the breed. All of our Cattle Dog lovers are swooning over her! Little Lady is insanely smart, very alert, and loves to herd the other dogs during doggie play groups. Adopters should be prepared for a dog that needs lots of physical exercise as well as mental stimulation. Cattle Dogs are a working breed and as such, they always want a job to do. They are also known for attempting to herd people, especially children, so if you have kids in the family, be sure that you're OK with a dog that nips at people in an attempt to get them to go to the dog's desired area. It's not naughtiness, it's what Cattle Dogs are born to do!
