Story
Blue is the kind of dog who doesn’t give her heart away in the first five minutes. But once you’re one of her people? You’re in. And she is ALL IN.
She is incredibly loving, affectionate and devoted to the people she knows and trusts. She’ll happily follow you anywhere, snuggle right into your chest, cover you in kisses and proudly take her position as your most loyal little sidekick.
Blue was recently adopted and unfortunately returned shortly after because she needs something very important from her humans: slow introductions to new people. We were definitely bummed for her, but we also learned a little more about exactly what Blue needs to be successful in her forever home.
She isn’t a dog who wants a revolving door of new people coming and going. She’s an old soul who would much rather have her circle, her routine, a dog BFF and her people. Give her a little time to decide you’re safe, and the dog waiting on the other side is SO worth it.
Her foster says when Blue sees someone she knows, she happily walks right over and melts into their legs or chest for love and kisses. And when she gets really excited? Her running turns into these ridiculous little hops around the yard.
She’s smart, loves learning new things, LOVES playing in the waves at the ocean, rides well in the car, is crate trained and does well at a dog daycare setting and at Park 9 too.
And then there’s perhaps our favorite Blue fact…
Blue loves Adele.
Her foster has tested this theory MULTIPLE times, so apparently we have science behind this. Put on Make You Feel My Love and Blue will come over, put her face against your shoulder or face, snuggle in and give kisses.
No other song.
Just Adele.
Honestly, can you blame her?
Blue has already been through heartworm treatment, changes and now the disappointment of thinking she had found her home only to come back. Through all of it, she remains this gentle, sweet, quietly resilient girl who just wants somewhere she can finally exhale.
We really want the next person who chooses Blue to understand her.
She doesn’t need everyone.
She just needs her people.
