Story
Hi, I`m Charlie!I`m a 2 year old mix looking for my forever home. Could you help me? I am a well-mannered dog and I show it by walking well on my leash and listening to commands. I know sit, down, and roll over! My favorite activity is playing fetch with a tennis ball and also eating lots of treats. I`m already neutered and up-to-date on my vaccines. All I need is a place to call home! Come see me at the shelter today!

Story
Pookie is a lovely little girl, about 5 months old, who is about 13 lbs. now as a puppy, but will probably grow up to be 20 - 25 lbs. She was rescued from a bad situation but she doesn't bear a grudge against humanity for her previous poor treatment. She is a lover and a playmate and one of the sweetest, smartest and most obedient little dogs you will ever meet. She is good with other dogs and with children. She has had some vet services and vaccines to stabilize her when she was rescued, but your adoption fee will cover the other vet services (including spay) needed plus microchip.

Story
Meet sweet Poppy! Poppy was found in a field with her siblings, on the verge of dying. Dehydrated, emaciated, full of parasites. Thankfully a good Samaritan got them all rounded up and called us. All were a bit shy at first but have come out of their shell and are nothing short of adorable. Cattle dog/shep mix, going to be medium size dogs we think. Born in April of this year and currently around 15 pounds. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Beasley is a beautiful boy and so very smart— he knows “sit, “lay down”, “roll over“, and "wait.” He’s a typical heeler who can be a little too smart for his own good! But this intelligent pup is highly food motivated, so responds well to reinforcement and training. Beasley has lots of energy and loves to play fetch. But, he can also be very cuddly and sweet. Beasley is house trained! He is great with kids and fine with other dogs. Beasley would do best with a fenced yard and someone who is home more often than not. He would love a home with herding dog experience to help him be the best dog he can be!! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2097810##

Story
Any late 1980`s Rock fans out there?Jovi here, and I`m told I get my name for my luscious locks. From the outside I like to look like I am a tough guy, but I am very sweet and want to cling to you! There for a while I was `Livin` On A Prayer`, being out in the world by myself. I decided that `It`s My Life` and came across a nice person who brought me to the shelter. This place didn`t jive when I first got here. Now, I have gotten into the groove and feel comfortable! I will `Keep The Faith` in the shelter and wait for my new home. For now, that`s the `Story Of My Life`. Who wants to help me write my next album?
