Story
My name is Xena and I am a pretty little Cattle Dog mix pup that is 5 months old and weighing 33 pounds on the way to being a 50 pound adult.  This pretty girl has had a lot of time with her foster mom teaching her manners, commands and creating a very loving and snuggly pup.  This girl came in as a stray that no one claimed nor seemed to care about.  Critter Cavalry Rescue has watched her gain confidence as a puppy, learn how to be 100% potty trained, crate trained and how to make herself fit in with other dogs and cats in a home lifestyle environment. This pretty girl is a Cattle Dog mix and if you know about the breed you know they are devoted companions to their family and owner and they are wicked SMART!  They don’t miss a trick and they learn at warp speed whatever you care to teach them.  This girl is ready to go NOW…are you ready for her intelligence, love and her being yours for the next 15 years.  These dogs live a long life that leaves you with a warm and deep memory of the good things that you feel when you own this kind of breed.  She would benefit from a fenced yard as she will love hanging out in the yard enjoying and soaking up the great outdoors.  Hiking, outdoor events to attend, jogs or walks will be the lifestyle that this girl will embrace with you.  Take her anywhere…Rides in the car, visits to family and enrolling her in some wonderful agility events or classes.  She would excel at everything.   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in knowing more about her and adopting.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 26, 2024, 11:20 pm

Introducing Gunner!Gunner is a big personality in a small package. He enjoys a lot of treats and butt scratches. He is heartworm positive, but don`t worry, HATS will help donate towards his treatment! Gunner would need to meet any dogs in the home before leaving and would do best in a home with no cats.

Story
“You can’t resist reading Pointer’s profile  because he is so darn cute, but Pointer isn’t for everyone. Pointer is a Blue Heeler mix, weighing in at less than 30 lbs. Just like bigger herding dogs, Pointer likes to chase, herd, nip heels and is very strong-willed. Pointer needs lots of exercise and must have mental stimulation throughout the day. He enjoys learning commands and working on his obedience commands and would make an excellent agility, nose work, scent work or other sport participant. Pointer is not a couch potato and when left to entertain himself, he can get into trouble. Pointer needs a person who is experienced with herding breeds or dogs who are competitive in sports and are not put off by his strong personality.  With the right person, Pointer can be the ultimate friend!  I would not be a candidate for an apartment, condo/townhome or a home without a fence. If interested in giving me a forever home please complete an application at www.safeanimalhaven.com Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler Characteristics Standing between 17 to 20 inches at the shoulder, the Australian Cattle Dog is a sturdy, hard-muscled herder of strength and agility. The ACD is born with a white coat that turns blue-gray or red. Both coat varieties feature distinctive mottling or specking patterns. ACDs have immense work drive and excel at hunting, chasing, and, of course, moving livestock. Their boundless energy and supple gait make them excellent running partners.ACDs are true-blue loyal, famously smart, ever alert, and wary of strangers. If an ACD isn’t challenged, he easily becomes bored and gets into mischief. It is recommended that ACD owners participate with their dog in some work, sport, or regular exercise to keep him mentally and physically fit.March 18, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Hello and meet Zion ! We acquired him at a shelter in Chicago July 2020 years ago when he was around 1 year old. He will be 5 years old in July. We are looking for a safe, fun and outdoor type environment for Zion so he can thrive. We have been unable to give him the time he deserves since both my wife & I work and have a 2.5 year old child, and are expecting twins in the near future. Zion needs an environment that could include another pet to play with, frequent trips to the park and an outdoor area to run around. Zion is an incredible dog and well trained. He is a very happy, uplifting dog that is good with people, dogs and children. He is definitely high energy that goes along with his breed of cattle dog, husky and maybe some german shepherd in him. He is playful, likes pets and very very loyal. Also a great hiking dog! This is an extremely tough decision for us but we know there is a better place out there for him so he can get more love !
