Story
Critter Cavalry Rescue is trying to help several dogs like Lyla out of a small rural shelter that is cramped and hard on the spirit of the kind of dog like Lyla.  She came to the shelter as an owner surrender forced by the animal control of the shelter.   She and her sister were being crated 24.7 just about and this was negligent and cruel.  She has been in this little shelter for almost 3 months now and her Blue Heeler spirit is just being stifled to get out and have some time to roam a yard, go for a fun run of fetch the ball or just be sleeping on a soft cozy dog bed at your feet.  It is just hard on the spirit when these dogs are stashed away and unnoticed and very little attention except to feed them.  She is 1-2 years old and 38 pounds.  She is mostly Heeler from what we can tell but on the darker side and she is warm and friendly but cautious too because of the confinement she has experienced.  Help us if you love the breed or love rescuing and fostering or even adopting.  She is fully vetted and ready to go!  Email us at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com   It is time to free Lyla! PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJuly 12, 2024, 5:05 pm

Story
We are so excited to introduce this girl called Red Shasta, a 1 year old 48 pound, Red Heeler that is one of the best girls you would ever want to adopt. She was dropped in the countryside of a small Tennessee town near a man’s home who took all three Heelers in to give them a safe place and food and water in this heat.  Soon he realized that he could not keep all three and get them vetted with his limited income.  He took them to a shelter that proceeded to call Critter Cavalry Rescue since we are such fans of the breed.  We have vowed to help them find wonderful homes and Red Shasta is on her way to finding that with this posting.  She is currently in a foster home with a big, older German Shepherd and they play like brother and sister.  She is housebroken, gentle and easy to have around and she is not at all one of the dominant “large and in charge personalities.  She is crate trained and always wears a smile to share with everyone.  She is cat friendly and  you can see how delightfully charming she is the first few minutes of meeting her.  Red Shasta is a stunning example of why the breed is so popular with dog savvy and active people.  They are a sponge for soaking up things to learn and they will make you feel like the most important person on the planet or at least in her world you will be.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue about this girl at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 12, 2024, 5:05 pm

Story
I’m Tuxedo, a 2- to 3-year old cattle dog mix with the most gorgeous eyes! I’m a love bug who likes to lean into my people with all 40 pounds of me, or climb into a lap when one’s available.I came to the Humane Society as a stray. I’m still new to the shelter and haven’t made new dog friends yet, but I joined the other HSYC dogs for a long trek along the Riverwalk recently. I’m a great leash-walker and car rider!I’m up to date on vaccines and preventions, neutered and microchipped. If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
