Story
Meet Ronda!Ronda is a sweet, playful gal who may be a little shy at first—but give her a few days, and she’ll blossom into your new best friend. She’s an active pup who loves to run around and is learning to play fetch (though sometimes she gets so excited she forgets to bring the toy back!). Ronda is adjusting wonderfully to life outside the shelter. She’s mostly potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go out, but if she can’t hold it, she’ll use potty pads. She gets so excited to play outside that she sometimes needs a gentle reminder that it’s also potty time. Walks are still a little intimidating for her, but with patience and encouragement, she’s learning that they can be fun. Ronda is a Kelpie mix, though on the smaller side—she may even have some Chihuahua in her. No matter her mix, she’s a lovable, playful companion who is eager to bond with her forever family. She would do best in a home without young children. Slow introductions to other dogs are best, and while she’s still figuring out cats, she knows to leave them alone when told. Ronda can’t wait to meet her perfect match. Come see her at an adoption event—she just might steal your heart! ##2461439##

Story
Rusty is a fun boy to be around! This young dog is energetic and adorable and will enjoy an active family dedicated to meeting his physical and emotional needs. His playful energy is infectious, and he's always ready for a game of fetch or an adventure. Rusty has been spending quality time working with both our Behavior Team and volunteers, who tell us that Rusty is smart and enjoys learning to sit, shake his paw and touch his nose to their hands. Perhaps Rusty will be that walking or jogging companion you've been searching for, although not necessarily the one who would enjoy being at the dog park. Rusty will only be rehomed to a family without children or with kids at least 10 years of age. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 39.2 Age: 1yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
"Mara is a 5-year-old shepherd mix with main-character energy and a soft spot for the simple pleasures in life. She loves slow, scenic walks on the beach (around the neighborhood will do), coming home to debrief you on her day, and settling in for quality couch snuggles. She’s also a total girl boss when it comes to enrichment toys and puzzle games—smart, confident, and proud of it. Mara prefers to be your one and only and finds other pets a bit… obnoxious, so she’s happiest as the sole star of the household. The upside? All her love, loyalty, and personality are yours. She’s crate trained, house trained, knows her leash manners and basic commands, and is kid-friendly. Mara would make an excellent first dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, chatty, couch-loving best friend to share your days with, Mara’s your girl!" Mara Jade is being fostered in Denver, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/mara-jade/. Story
Meet Lady! Lady is a 2-year-old Kelpie/Bloodhound mix with a huge heart and a wicked-smart brain. She came from Dallas and has been thriving in her foster home ever since. Lady is deeply affectionate and bonds quickly, but she’s a little shy at first — especially around hands — and appreciates someone who lets her set the pace early on. Once she trusts you, she’s loyal, loving, and all-in. As a true working-breed mix, Lady is sharp, eager to learn, and loves having a “job.” If it moves, she’ll try to herd it, so she does best with adults and either as an only dog or with dogs who won’t mind her instincts. She absolutely shines with consistent direction, structure, and clear boundaries. Lady’s superpowers: Wicked smart + quick learner Treat-motivated and thrives with positive reinforcement Nose that never quits — she loves scent work and mental games Bonds deeply once she feels safe Lady is also working through a few things: she can be leash reactive, she has some resource-guarding tendencies, and she’s still learning to trust hands. The good news? She responds incredibly well to training and consistency. Her foster family, along with guidance from a trainer, has already given her a strong foundation — especially with her crate, which she now sees as her safe, cozy spot. Lady’s dream home: Adults only A yard for zoomies Someone steady, patient, and consistent An adopter excited to continue training (she loves it and learns fast!) If you want a smart, devoted, endlessly rewarding companion who’s ready to grow with you, Lady could be your girl. She just needs the right person to bring out her very best.  December 14, 2025, 8:53 pm

Story
Hi! I'm Opal and I'm just under 5 years old. I have beautiful blue eyes that I get lots of compliments on. My favorite activity in the whole world is running and I would love to be someone's jogging companion. I also enjoy curling up beside my humans on the couch and lounging outside in the sun. I get along well with most other dogs (particularly male dogs) and I have met a few cats and got along well with all but one of them. Other good attributes about me are that I'm completely potty trained (no accidents since I was a puppy!), I am not food aggressive, I don't shed a lot, and I sleep through the night happily. My owners are trying to re-home me because I am very scared of young children and they recently had a baby. I need to be placed in a home with children over the age of 10. My DNA test said I'm predominately Supermutt, Cattle Dog, and German Shorthaired Pointer.
