Story
Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet young boy ISO fresh start and love! CASTIEL NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Castiel and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (Feb. 24th) from 12-2 pm at Petco in Fairfax (10708 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030)!   Name:  Castiel           Best Guess for Breed:   Australian Shepherd mix   Best Guess for Age:   6 months as of February 2024          SEX:    Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  20.8 lbs as of 2/12/24   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Because Castiel is shy, he needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. Due to his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Special Adoption Considerations: Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Castiel is Looking For:  His forever home! This sweetie might no longer be a closed-eye little baby, but he's still a puppy and looking for lots of play time and snuggles and all that fun stuff! He's also ready to explore! The neighborhood, the local parks, the world! And all the toys to see what he likes best - balls for fetch? Ropes for tug? Squeaky plushies to squeak? Yes, please!    He also wants to go to dog school to show how super smart he is. But most of all, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof for all his days. In exchange, he promises lots of tail wags and kisses and adoring gazes - and loyal companionship. He made the trip to DC from Texas just to find his forever family. What do you say? Is he the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me: Castiel has come out his shell and now goes up and down the stairs without being scared, does not hide under the sofa and bed anymore. Still learning how to walk on the leash and crate training. Does not have accidents inside the house if taken out on a timely manner.  He likes to play a lot with his toys he has shown now that he is definitely a puppy and has the puppy energy. He is shy at first but warms up. Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.      Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie Belle to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie Belle is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie Belle is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 24, 2024, 1:31 pm

Story
My name is Irish, a black Australian shepherd puppy, born around December 5th 2023, at 10 weeks old I weigh 13 pounds and probably destined to be 50 pounds as an adult. Currently, I live with my brother and sister and our foster parents. Boy, do we keep those humans busy!  My favorite part of the day is anything to do with eating. I also love wrestling with my siblings, although wrestling or snuggling with my people is also awesome. I am crate-trained, not housebroken (too young) and I would love to have playmates. My playmates can be humans or dogs, or both! (I’ve never met a cat before but I'm certain they would be my friend). I like to play with soft toys, although the occasional chewy toy is pretty fun for teething on. At the moment, my favorite toy is an old dish towel my mom has tied in a knot. The simple things in life entertain me. I would need lots of playtime outside and inside, and lots of snuggles when I leave my siblings for the first time. I promise to return love infinitely when I come live with you. P.S. Mom says I have to tell you that I am very charming and can act innocent even if I was causing a “ruckus”, whatever that is.  Write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  to ask for an official  adoption application  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 24, 2024, 1:31 pm

Story
If you are looking for a small furry handsome Aussie mix puppy then look no further.  Tanner is your guy!  Born approximately December 14, 2023, this black nugget of gold is soft, smart, entertaining and just looking to share his love and cuddles with a person or family in need.   We love Tanner for all the right reasons and will be looking for a home where he can safely play in the yard with a secured fence and can have all the outdoor time that he needs to get the Aussie exercise in for the day.  He is crate trained and is NOT currently housebroken yet.  Too young and still learning why it is important to do the potty training outside 100% of the time.  Just puppy stuff you MUST be ready for.  He is ready for YOU around March 7th.  Are you ready?  If so then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    Sign up now \PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 24, 2024, 1:31 pm

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow.  She has the typical bad habit of jumping on people she greets with excitement.  For this reason she probably needs to live with children who are over 8 years of age.  The foster mom is working on her jumping but it will take some extended training and she is really new to the foster home.  If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 24, 2024, 1:31 pm
