Story
I acquired Nino 3 years ago from my niece who was going to put him in a shelter due to her being overwhelmed after having a baby. He was raised as a guard dog so he is a little protective. He is good with babies and a beautiful dog. He has a tendency to bark at any unfamiliar sound he hears and when in his cage he feels as though it is his safe place. He is picky on who he likes and dislikes. When someone enters the house he has to vet/smell them or he will keep barking. I know that a lot of his traits can be fixed with some dedicated training; however, I don’t have the funds to pay for training. My landlord does not want a dog in her house anymore. I need a home that will treat him right and is able to get him fully trained. I would love to foster him however I don’t know how long it will take me to find a place of my own. I have videos of him playing with my Godson so if you want to see let me know and I will gladly share.

Story
*Woof* I`m in a foster home. Email lauren.pina1998@gmail.com to meet me! - very friendly and loves people (especially, giving hugs or laying by your feet) - smart and already knows tricks like `sit` and `roll over` - potty trained - doesn`t need to be crated in the homeCheck it out - Little Boy was featured as WTOP`s pet of the week! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DVtxNhyjEhR/?igsh=Mms4N3pjZDczdnNhDon’t let the name fool you — Little Boy is not so little! At about 75 pounds, he’s a big, lovable bundle of pure sweetness, and once you meet him, you’ll understand why everyone falls head over heels for this Big Boy. At 5 years old, Little Boy is the perfect mix of mellow companion and adventure buddy. He’s incredibly friendly and affectionate, always ready to lean in for hugs or stretch out at your feet while you go about your day. He’s happiest just being near his people, often rolling right onto his back to soak up belly rubs or even standing up for a full-on hug. He’s house trained, well-mannered, and a smart cookie too — he already knows “sit” and “roll over,” and is eager to keep learning. Most days, he’s content to lounge beside you, but he also loves getting out for a nice long walk or hopping in the car for a ride (especially if it means sticking his head out the window and enjoying the breeze). Little Boy can be left home alone without a crate. If you’re looking for a cuddly, loyal, and easygoing companion with a big heart to match his size, Little Boy might just be your perfect match.

Story
Hi, my name is Zara! I am a beautiful gray and white 3-year-old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix. While ladies typically don’t disclose their weight, I am about 50 lbs. If you are a smart and active person or couple looking to adopt a dog with a similar temperament, then we could be a great match! I love going for walks and would appreciate having someone who can incorporate that into my daily routine. Getting outside for exercise is something I enjoy, and I would also make an excellent running companion. Visiting the park or going on hikes would be a lot of fun, too! Not to brag, but I believe I'm quite a looker, and I’m confident that if you took me to the park, we would make lots of friends together. While I love people, I am not used to being around other dogs, so a dog park wouldn’t be suitable for me. However, I’m always up for hanging out where the people are! I’m also a bit too energetic for young children; I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than they are and might accidentally knock them over. It would be wonderful if someone in the household could work from home, as I am crate-trained but don't like spending long hours alone. I thrive on human interaction and am seeking a loving home.  I promise to return your love! If you would like to be considered for my forever family, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. Please note that an approved application and adoption fee are required. (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)    March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Stella is a friendly and intelligent dog with plenty of energy. We want her to be happy and have a space where she can run around and play with other dogs. Previously, Stella lived in the mountains of Colorado, where she enjoyed a large fenced yard and had lots of friends to play with. Now, she is living in a townhouse without a yard, which has been challenging for her. As a very active young lady, she is currently feeling unhappy. Stella is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog, Husky, German Shepherd, and Golden Retriever, and she is expected to weigh around 30 pounds. She is a loving and eager-to-learn dog who picks up new skills quickly. Stella would be an amazing agility dog, as this would engage both her mind and her need for physical activity. If agility training isn't your interest, she would also thrive in an active lifestyle with an avid walker, hiker, or runner.  Stella is a very quick learner and was immediately fully potty trained.     To ensure the best for Stella, her new owners should have a yard or live on a farm, and it would be great if they have another dog and children.  Stella has plenty of energy to add playing at home to her list of activities.    Stella has been spayed and is current on all her shots until May 2026.  To be considered for her forever family and to request an application please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  (Stella is currently in Tennessee and can be transported north upon adoption.)  March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Kenny is the kind of dog who doesn’t need to demand attention—he simply earns your heart by being quietly, wonderfully present. This stunning 3-year-old Australian Shepherd, with his rich brown merle coat and soulful eyes, has a calm, steady spirit that feels like home from the moment you meet him. At 50 pounds, he’s the perfect size to be your constant companion—never far, always devoted. After spending six long months waiting in a small New Mexico shelter, Kenny is more than ready to leave that chapter behind and embrace the love he’s always deserved. Despite a slight vision impairment, he moves through life with confidence and grace, never letting it slow him down. In fact, his resilience only makes him more remarkable.  Kenny is incredibly smart, beautifully mannered on a leash, and fully potty trained. He’s the kind of dog who finds joy in the simplest things—resting quietly at your feet, leaning gently against you, or soaking in every bit of affection you’re willing to give. He’s gentle with everyone he meets, wonderful with other dogs, and has a soft, kind nature that makes him truly special. Offer him a treat and he’ll happily sit… and if you’re lucky, he might even place his paw in your hand like a quiet promise of loyalty.  He would thrive in a peaceful home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and enjoy the calm life he’s been waiting for. Kenny isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for his person. Someone to love, to follow, and to quietly adore every single day.If you’re ready for a deeply loyal, affectionate companion who will bring a sense of peace and devotion into your life, Kenny is waiting for you. Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and give this beautiful soul the forever home he’s been dreaming of.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  May 12, 2026, 5:24 pm

Story
8 months, ~30 lbs Personality: energetic, playful, snuggler, shy, mischievous, and timid/fearful. Meet Noah, a pup who quickly shows his playfulness and seemingly unlimited curiosity about the world as you get to know him. He has been characterized by his current foster as the "sweetest boy" and "not having a mean bone in his body." Not only does Noah enjoy playtime and exploring, he also looks forward to quality snuggle time during the day and at sleep time, preferring to maintain physical contact with you while he’s deep in dreamland. Noah gets along amazingly with the three other dogs in his foster home, galloping with them around the yard. He’s ready to join you on your adventures and make discoveries large and small; Noah recently encountered (and mastered) the wonderful world of staircases! Noah is crate trained and is making improvements on house training. He will greet your guests with adorable enthusiasm. He’s still getting used to this great big world, and he’ll thrive with an adopter who will help him feel more confident, including with going on leash walks. Are you looking for a nurturing, playful buddy who will put a smile on your face?
