Story
Daikon is a very sweet and chill 7–8-year-old, 43lb female being fostered in Washington DC in the Mt Pleasant neighborhood. She is a double merle who is deaf and may have some vision impairment but is perfect in every way! Daikon is originally from SW Virginia but has adjusted very well to DC city life. She was with a temp foster for 3 weeks and got along well with the other dogs, cats and 3 kids under 5 years old.  She gets along well with her foster brother too. Daikon is very chill and loves to be near her people. She rides in the car very nicely. She is well behaved in the house and does not try to get into anything. Daikon is 100% potty trained and would prefer to sleep in bed with her people but will also sleep in the crate. She loves hiking and getting all the new sniffs but is also content to sleep all day at my feet while I work from home.  She would be the perfect companion to a family with kids, single work from home or retired folks. Daikon is not a dog who will thrive being alone all day. A fenced yard is best so that she has a safe place to be off leash. Daikon is looking for a special home where her new owners would be willing to spend time to work with her daily. She is very smart and will do well with hand/sign language training.  An adopter with deaf dog experience is preferred, but not mandatory. If Daikon sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microhip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
We are trying to help this sweet girl called Bonnie Belle to find a home since her elderly parents are in failing health and cannot care for their five dogs.  Bonnie Belle is a mix of some interesting breeds.  We think she has some Aussie and maybe Boxer in her.  The Australian Shepherd trait is what makes her a protector of the yard and home when strangers approach.  She is the home security dog officer!   This girl is losing her home because her elderly parents have fallen into bad health.  Bonnie Belle is 4 years old and weighs a little over 40 pounds.  She adores people and is good with the other dogs that she spends time with in the fenced yard.  She is housebroken, affectionate and a devoted girl to her family.  If you would like to give Bonnie her next forever home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue who is helping her at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 8, 2024, 3:12 pm

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 8, 2024, 3:12 pm

Story
Our little Bingo is the sweetest young pup and at 3 months and 12 pounds we don’t think he is going to be over 40 pounds when fully grown.  He came from KY where someone bought him and then decided a puppy was too much work. He deserves better than that.  Critter Cavalry Rescue took him and has found him to be a delightful little guy that loves to cuddle, play with the other Chihuahua puppy and to run and play in the house.  He is such a charmer too.  His fur is  semi soft and not totally wiry.  He has no tail and so he could be an Aussie Doodle but not sure. He is all boy and all joy!  If you are interested in this handsome black and white nugget then please be sure to write to Critter Cavalry Rescue ASAP at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 8, 2024, 3:12 pm

Luckily, he is with K-9 Lifesavers now and is hoping to find a home where he will be loved forever.  He is a very nice boy, but was very scared being in the shelter. All George wants is to have his home life back again with someone who cares. He is a smart fella and already knows some commands - sit , down and come. He loves his toys and affection from his people and will do best with older kids. He is also house and crate trained, but he is not always a fan of his crate and will let you know. All in all, George is a sweet boy who deserves a loving home, so why not fill out an application today and consider sharing yours with this lovable guy.Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
