Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is not good with small dogs as her breed likes to keep the "rodents" at bay. I would say no dog under 20lbs - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? she is not good with lazy pet goats, pigs and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is located in San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to your location through Your Tx Rescue Connection transport service. The fee includes adoption fee and transportation fee.

Story
Leia is my best friend and my dream dog. Unfortunately she has become too unpredictable as to how she’ll react when we’re not around. Around our family she is the sweetest dog the LOVES all the attention. She loves to cuddle, play she knows tricks. She is crate trained and will return to her kennel upon a command and will come to you with a snap of a finger. She does have a weak stomach so if something doesn’t sit right, she will vomit it up immediately. The reason she’s needing away from our house is while we were gone on a longer vacation, she and her older but smaller brother got into a fight over her food in her kennel. She ended the fight fast causing us a large vet bill. The other dog is okay but it was a wake up call that it’s clear we cannot care for her any longer. Writing this breaks by heart because as I said, she is my. Best friend and I love her very much. But I have to get her in a single dog family as soon as I can. Rehoming fee is just so I know you are serious.

Story
Blue is genuinely loving and attention loving. He wants to be a lap dog and be pet constantly. Blue is good around our other dogs. Blue has a fearful streak with strangers which presents with aggressive barking and lunging. But, if they do not show fear and are willing to take the time with him, he calms and becomes accepting. Introductions are slow. He hasn't been well socialized as a result. He thinks every toy belongs only to him. Our major concern is his inability to live with our cats. He has caused injury to one, and consistently chases the other. They no longer come in the house. Additionally, he has energy that requires room to run. We aren't able to provide that for him. We love him dearly and are willing to go through the introduction to his new people as slowly as needed for everyone to be comfortable. I would suggest that the best placement would be with an active home with no other small pets.

Story
Mini Aussie, 9 yrs old. I adopted him from another family when he was 6. Potty trained, up to date with shots, neutered and kennel trained. No health issues, goes to Canyon Road Veterinary. No prior professional training. Will come with kennel and food. He needs to he the only pet as he has resource guarding and it’s hit or miss if he gets along with other dogs (usually not). He’s fine with small children, he can just get excited and possibly knock them down. He’s pretty chill for an Aussie but is down for hikes or little outdoor adventures. He has some separation anxiety so can pace in the house while you’re gone so we usually kennel him. I just had a baby so having 2 under 2 makes it hard for me to give him the love and attention he deserves.

Story
Meet our sweet boy Ray. He is a 7 y/o 25 lb Aussie and he’s been part of our family for 6 years. Ray is by far one of the sweetest, most loving dogs I’ve ever known. In nearly every way he is a perfect dog: he’ll match your energy, he’s so eager to please, not destructive at all, snuggly, and the most polite bedmate. Except Ray has, what we call, his “fatal flaw” Ray is reactive when he’s scared. He’s been known to lunge and snarl at random people and dogs when we walk by. Importantly: he has a bite history. About 2 years back he lunged at and nipped a neighbor while on his leash. He didn’t cause any significant injury and the neighbor was understanding, but it was still a bite. Shortly after the incident we put him through training with a local dog trainer, which helped, but we unfortunately don’t have the time and resources to give him everything he deserves. We truly believe that with the right person and environment he can overcome his fear and behavioral issues.

Story
Charlie is a sweet-natured and affectionate dog who, despite his best efforts to adapt, has faced challenges in finding a forever home. His previous rehomings were not due to any fault of his own, but rather unforeseen circumstances faced by his previous owners. Charlie has exhibited resilience and a loving demeanor throughout his journey, making it evident that he deserves a stable and nurturing environment. He loves to run and play with other dogs. I currently have him staying at my home with my two dogs; Zeus is 12, and Demi is 7. I am elderly and have several medical conditions that make it impossible to give Charlie the exercise, both physical and mental, that he requires. I took him in because I want to find him a forever home that will nurture and love him and be able to care for him properly. Returning him to the humane society is not possible because they had him so over-drugged; the I worry he will not appear adoptable. He needs a home with lots of exercise and room to run.

Story
Bernie is a neutered male who came to us at about 3 months old with his sister Dash. He lives outside and has his own house in a covered, weather-protected area next to the house. He's a happy, energetic guy who's smart, but a bit of a doofus. He loves to play tug-of-war but destroys soft toys immediately. He's a foody who'll work for treats. He's had no problems with adults and teens but has not been around children. He'll walk on a leash but needs work as he still pulls, he needs to know that you're in charge. We're rehoming because, in all of our attempts, we've not been able to keep him in the yard. He has a high prey drive and goes after small animals like cats and birds. He escaped and killed the neighbor's chickens. When we got them we weren’t aware that littermates growing up together is a whole other thing! Bernie and Dash should probably be Adopted to separate homes. They feed off of each other’s energy and end up doing unacceptable actions.

Story
Kevin is a sweet, intelligent, slightly neurotic boy. He’s uncomfortable with new situations, doesn’t much like getting into the car, although he does fine once he’s in. He’s very treat motivated and really cuddly. It breaks my heart to rehome him, but he has just acquired a taste for my hens. He has always been quick to come when called, but the chickens are too exciting for him to ignore. He lives with cats and another dog. He spends time with my young grandchildren and is very timid around them. He needs consistency and patience, and I’m not up to giving him what he deserves. He could be a great companion to the right person.

Story
Luther came to me as a rescue. He spent his first year in a shelter and this past year with me. He is deaf and has learned many hand signals. He sits, stays and responds well with collar grabbing. He is very affectionate and can be goofy at times. He walks well on leash with minimal tugging. As a kelpie he has a lot of energy and likes to herd. Unfortunately due to an accident I am unable to give him the time and outlet he needs with walks and such. Luther goes to a local farm on occasion when I have had to go out of town. He does well with the other dogs there. He's been good around my grandkids but could get startled by very young kids since he cannot hear them.
