From her foster home: `ASPEN IS READY FOR HER HOME!`Remember Aspen? The sweet, matted, terrified girl found wandering Capitol State Forest? The one we weren`t sure had ever lived in a house before? Look at her now. Aspen went into foster care and blossomed. She has warmed up to her whole foster family, including their middle- and high-school-age kids. She`s had positive interactions with dogs and positive-to-neutral interactions with cats. She loves going on walks. She`s learning, every single day, what it means to just be a dog.Here`s the honest picture of Aspen:She is still working on potty training. We believe Aspen spent most of her life in a crate, so house manners are brand new to her. She enjoys her walks but hasn`t quite connected that walks are a potty opportunity. She`ll get there — she just needs a patient person willing to keep a routine and celebrate the wins.She`s also a true herding dog. Aspen is drawn to small animals like chickens, and sometimes to other dogs, so she`ll do best with an adopter who understands that instinct. A gentle leader and some consistency go a long way with her.Aspen is available RIGHT NOW as a foster-to-adopt.Aspen still needs surgery to remove mammary tumors. Our shelter will perform and cover the surgery, but she`ll get to recover in your home instead of a kennel. The shelter is a genuinely stressful place for Aspen, and we are doing everything we can to make sure she never has to come back to it.Her adopter will foster her while she`s recovering from her surgery and complete the adoption once she is healed. The mammary tumors will be sent in for testing to determine if they are cancerous or not. If they are cancerous then further treatment may be needed by her adopter. Many mammary tumors are low grade or benign, so often no further treatment is needed, but we do not know until the test is back what the next steps will be. Any treatment beyond surgical removal of the mammary tumors will be at the expense of the adopter after the adoption is completed. The dog adoption fee is $110. Australian Shepherd/ Lab is the closest breed we can guess on her. Sorry we don't have good photos of sweet Sally. She was in foster in Texas since a puppy! She is totally trained with playing with a playgroup of dogs several times/day. Finally her turn at about 2 years to be adopted. ! House and potty trained!!! woof woof. Affectionate sweet loving dog. She is a little shy at first, but opens up quickly. Has done great with other all other dogs even young puppies when done with proper introductions. She is with a rescue that is friends of Lufkin TX Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter friends. loving sweet sweet pup t is nearly impossible to say the breeds but her brother did have some Great Pyrenees in his DNA test. Many dogs are impossible to say the breeds but it is anyone's guess. As we know, mutts statistically speaking will live longer and have less vet bills!. Musso aka Moose is about 34 pounds!@ great size In foster in Chehalis, WA with two dogs and four cats. shaynesrescue.com is where to apply to adopt Musso was living with several other dogs. He and all the other dogs ended up at the shelter:( He is wonderful! Super friendly with dogs and humans, we believe house trained. He is a little shy with new people and might bark at first, but quickly will be wanting to cuddle and be by your side. He loves to run in the large yard the foster has. Even if the other dogs are not joining him he can entertain himself with some of his favorite toys and running around on his own. He really needs to be able to run around so we do not see him in an apartment unless you are home a lot and for sure make certain he gets plenty of exercise. He does sleep on the fosters bed at night without destroying anything and has not had any accidents. it is not a requirement that he sleep in your bed, but he loves it. We have 6 puppies that are beautiful and playful. They were brought to me when Mama was pregnant and the were born in our house. Mom is a very plain all black, 25# dog…breed not determined but she must have picked some beautiful boyfriends. They were born on 6/9/2026…3 boys & 3 girls. Two of them have 1 or 2 beautiful blue eyes. I let my phone app scan for breeds. For each puppy I will list the 2 most common and expected but no guarantees. KALLIE is a very sweet and a little shy female. She weighs 13#, and has 1 BLUE eye. We suspect her to possibly be a Black Mouth Cur and maybe Australian Shepherd mix. We expect her to grow to 45-55# This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. Atlas is a very energetic and playful dog once he gets to know you. He can take a little while to fully warm up to new people, but he is very friendly and social when meeting other dogs. We’ve noticed that Atlas doesn’t handle change very well and needs some extra time and patience when adjusting to new people and environments. We believe Atlas experiences some anxiety, and we’ve been working with him to help him feel more comfortable around others, especially in our large family. He is crate trained, although his anxiety tends to be most noticeable when he is in his crate. Atlas isn’t particularly food-motivated, but he absolutely thrives when it comes to play. He knows basic commands and does well with them when he is calm and fully focused on you. Overall, Atlas is a sweet, playful dog who does best with patience, consistency, and time to build trust. We would love for him to find a home with a lot of patience and time to give him the proper attention he deserves.
