Story
Ms Lulu is quite the character! She is happy and funny and Loves to run and run. When she stops, she stops! She took over the house and yard the first day protecting and keeping all threats away from the fence. She is a snuggler and will sit on the couch and sleep in the big person bed or an open crate. She does prowl and protect through the night. She is house trained and uses a doggy door. Lulu is not good with small dogs as her breed likes to keep the "rodents" at bay. I would say no dog under 20lbs - otherwise male or female dogs are fine. No idea about cats. She is a cattle dog and seems as if she may have been trained to herd beyond what comes natural? she is not good with lazy pet goats, pigs and chickens. Cattle and horses would be safe. She is an active working dog who would love an active lifestyle if you can provide it. She loves the water too. She will herd children by nipping on their heels so maybe a bit older children who understand that's just what her breed does and won't cry. She does pretty well on a leash, rides in the car like a pro, loves puppies because she was a mom a time or two. Her tongue hangs out and her jaw is a bit off (maybe birth defect or an injury) but it does not affect her appetite! She is spayed, HW negative and up to date on shots. please apply at www.krrtx.org/forms Please note Lulu is located in San Antonio, TX and is available for transport to your location through Your Tx Rescue Connection transport service. The fee includes adoption fee and transportation fee.

Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle or cash. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees & charges but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees & charges we will accept PayPal. **** WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWER AS SHE HAS A PENDING MEET & GREET. **** Talk about right place at the right time with our foster mum & for beautiful Flower, her sister Bambi & her mum Mia. Our foster mum was at one of the very high kill shelters in CA for us rescuing a sweet soul when a family come along who were going to dump all 3. The usual disgusting story of, we are moving so we can’t take our beloved dogs with us story. Flower, Bambi & Mia were being dropped off at the shelter as they were moving & didn’t want them anymore. Thankfully our foster mum said we would help them & we did. Mia the mum had given birth to Flower & Bambi & at the tiny age of 8 weeks they were going to be dumped. Talk about cruel & heartless. Not to mention Mia of course was frightened & didn’t know what was going on? But those days are over for these beautiful babies. Without our outstanding foster mum this would not of happened & who knows what would of happened to this little angel, her sister & mum. Flower who is now looking for her very own forever home & who will never give up on her again & dump her & love her just as her foster mum & we do. After we got Flower all her care with her amazing foster mum she will be bought back to WA state from CA where she can’t wait to find her loving forever home. Flower a little lady, how could anyone dump her & let her down is shocking. Her foster mum said she is so very sweet & full of sweet puppy love of energy. She is your typical puppy of eat, poop, play sleep. Flower just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think of what almost happened to her. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA. Flower is such a good girl her foster mum said, she is super sweet, she is so quite & lives to be near you. You look at her & she looks straight into your soul. Flower is a good eater, she loves to eat & put on a few pounds since being rescued. Flower loves sleeping with her foster mum & wants to sleep with her & does not like to sleep alone. So we are only looking for a home where she can sleep with her family. Flower’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for her safety. Flower has been great with her baths because she started having them with us the moment she was rescued so she is used to them. Flower rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & she rides in a car seat & is used to riding in one. She still needs continued work walking on her harness & leash. We are looking for a forever home for Flower where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Flower loves other dogs & their company. She must go to a forever home with another dog present in the home who is young & playful just as Flower is. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lady only. Flower is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love him as she should be loved & be patient with her & work on her potty training with her & teach her, her puppy manners. Flower has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. She must go to a home with other playful loving dogs in her forever home. Flower is roughly 2 years old & 41 lbs & is perhaps a spaniel terrier/Australian mini shepherd mix, but what she is mixed with we are not sure at all. Flower was born with her foot turned out which is very common but does not affect her at all. She is female, being spayed by laser. Flower is, microchipped, up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We have spent far more on Flower, with all of her medical care than her adoption fee comes close to even covering, her spay by laser, all of her puppy shots & shots, microchip transport feed bringing her back to WA state, etc. Flower has been around cats since being in the rescue in her foster home & could care less about the cat in her foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Flower was conceived so we do not know who both her parents were but we do know who her mum is & she is in a picture with flower & we have her in the rescue also. But it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Flower’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Flower potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Flower has been through many traumas in her short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for her care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Flower & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Flower who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Flower has an adoption fee of $850 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.

Story
Ella is a sweet girl that loves to play ball and go for walks and be active doing something stimulating. I have had Ella her whole life and due to my job and situation am unable to keep her. I am sad about the possibility of finding something that is better for her right now but her separation anxiety and need for stimulation is hard for me to manage. We have moved quite a bit due to my job and she would benefit from somebody who works from home and can take her with them most of the time. She would do better routine wise with the "pack mentality." I see her adjusting well to a home with other dogs with an experienced dog owner that understands that assimilating with a pack will take a bit of time and learning - which is why having an experienced dog trainer would be best. She has assimilated with other dogs in the past. She is such a sweet pretty girl that gets compliments on her behavior and agility. Experienced dog owners that see Ella fitting in with their herd, please reach out :)

What these sweet souls see, hear & endure is incomprehensible. Ellen was part of a breeder dumping dogs. He actually wanted Ellen & many others gone immediately in Indiana but was willing to work with us. We have to move fast because unfortunately in these situations, when they want them gone, there is no messing around for their health & safety. Being breeding dogs they are money making machines only & their time had come to an end with this breeder. Beautiful Ellen & her other 9 friends were living outside all day & night in cages. Once we knew about them, there was no way we were leaving them there. We organized to rescue all of them & our wonderful team drove & picked up everyone. Of course the were all so filthy & stinking so badly & some were matted to the skin & needing grooming immediately & medical care. He did not care & just wanted them gone. Rescuing the breeding dogs is an extremely expensive situation each time & it involves a lot of expenses in transportation & so much medical. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Ellen how she is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home & her other friends. Ellen was bought back to WA state where she is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever family. Beautiful & gentle Ellen. She is such a sweetheart even though humans have been so bitterly cruel to her. Her world changed within hours of a phone call & a car ride along with her friends. No more living outside for this girl in a cage. When she arrived she had urine stained fur & we do not know had she ever seen a bath up until then. We see this all the time with the dogs in cages sitting in their own filth & it takes so long to remove the urine stains that have built up. Her foster mum in CO said she was such a sweetheart with them & enjoyed running freely on the property with the other dogs & clearly this was her first chance & freedom but it was a little overwhelming & didn’t want to come inside as she believed she would go into a cage. Her foster mum & dad in WA said she was very sweet & everything was obviously new to her & it would take time, patience & understanding with what Ellen has been through but does not have a mean bone in her body. The dogs gave her joy & comfort in that foster home & she loved to eat. She adored having a comfy bed & big comfy blankets because again the reality is, this is something she did not get to experience ever until she was rescued. Nor toys, love, her own bed. All the things she should of experienced. She slept & slept in her foster home in WA as if she had never slept before. Her current foster mum said Ellen willingly joins the other dogs at meal times now, & eats next Toto the Scottie.  Her appetite has become voracious & she definitely has put on weight.  I haven’t been able to spend much time leash-training her (due to my limitations) but she is getting the hang of a stretchy leash.  When I first got her she would not walk at all with me - just stood there.  She is now responding to treats as rewards, whereas at first she wouldn’t take a treat from me.  Even now sometimes it’s 50/50.  She has not been willing to learn about the dog door, although she stands right at the door & watches the other 3 use it all the time.  She would still need work walking on her harness & leash as it’s all completely new to her as she was never taught until we rescued her. This girl has been good with all different breeds of dogs as they bring her comfort. We have tested Ellen in a daycare environment & is good with men & women & adores the dogs but it’s to overwhelming for her. Ellen rides fine in the car & is good with being bathed. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lady only. Ellen as you can imagine spent the beginning of her life outside in a caged environment. We are also looking for a forever home for Ellen where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. She is microchipped, she is up to date on her shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed several times. We have spent far more on Ellen with paying for her to get away from a breeder in Indiana to get her out with bringing her to WA with her boarding costs, transport costs, her medical care in WA, getting her spayed by laser, now boarding her in WA etc than her adoption fee even comes close to covering. Rescuing these dogs in these situations is financially draining then getting them all their medical added on too.
