Story
People, let me tell you about your new beeeeeest friend ... because I'm pretty sure it's ME! My name is Betsy, and I am ready to make myself the fun-loving, kiss-giving, happiest-girl-ever center of your world.Other dogs? Love them! Outdoor smells? Love them! Chew toys? Love them! People? Love them! Things that remind me of chew toys? Love them! I'm still working on that last part -- I'm only 1 year old, so I need a bestie (or two!) who can help me practice my commands and help me remember which toys are mine and which shoes are yours. Don't worry about crate training, though -- I've got that skill mastered. If you need a new BFF who loves to play and who will return your attention with ALL the tail-wags and love she can give (and who totally rocks a bandana on top of it all), then you can stop looking -- I'm here, and I'm ready for you!If you'd like to take me home, please fill out an adoption application at this website - http://www.animalalliesrescue.org/adoption-application - and choose me, Betsy! My adoption fee is $350 and AARF wants me to tell you that their adoption package covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like me for our forever homes. By the time you meet us, we've already been spayed/neutered (if age appropriate) and microchipped. We've been checked by a veterinarian, and we're up to date on age appropriate immunizations against rabies and DHLPP (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus). We've been tested for heartworm and other tick borne diseases (4DX), and we've started our heartworm and flea preventive medications. Some of us have had extensive surgeries, dental work, or other necessary procedures. AARF is committed to getting all of us entirely ready for a happy, healthy, love-filled life!

Story
When Irish eyes are smiling, does that mean they are happy? Or maybe they had too many pints at the pub? My eyes are smiling, and I am a non drinker, just want to have full disclosure here! Even though my eyes were smiling in these pictures. I was desperate for help for my little one, Lewis. You see, he was dying...full of internal and external parasites he really had no fight left in him and I knew it as his mother... so I used my Irish eyes to get us saved. AND IT WORKED!! Our lives are do amazing now, Lewis is alive and well after some very intense care, and ADOPTED INTO AN AMAZING HOME!!! I am not ever producing more babies, so it is all good! Now I get my turn for love, comfort and safety and a FOREVER HOME!! I am an adorable girl, about 50# of low-rider basset/heeler-ness. I am great with other dogs and like to play keep away! I am ready when you are, do your stuff so we can ride off into the sunset, in air conditioning, of course! Adoption application: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/GDR/Dog Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Midge is a very gentle Basset Hound and Chinese Shar pei mix looking for a forever home. She was taken in from a bad hoarding situation and is now doing living in a REAL foster home with other happy and loved friends and food and medical care too!! I am learning everyday what it means to be man's best friend and it is pretty sweet :) Midge came to the rescue with little hair and skin infections and entropion on both eyes (meaning her eyelashes were scraping her eyes every minute of every day..... think about how miserable it is to have ONE eyelash in your eye ;( and STILL a sweet and loving personality, despite how she was physically. The rescue fixed all my stuff up and now I have gorgeous, shiny and thick black fur and my eyes don't hurt anymore!!! She would be best in a home with another calm and confident dog. No food issues, couchy potato in training!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an Adoption Questionnaire at  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/43315/genericYou can learn about the adoption process by visiting:  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/howtoadopt/.  Dog's Name:  Pup Kirby (KIR0524SOPMD)Estimated Breed:  Basset Hound / Catahoula Leopard Dog MixApproximate Age:  5-6 months Approximate Weight:  25 LBS Currently Living at:  Boarding   Adoption Fee:  $500DOG'S DESCRIPTION:  Meet Pup Kirby! This beautiful boy with the most gorgeous eyes was found as a stray on a country road in rural Georgia. He was in foster with an elderly woman and her Chihuahuas until he came to us. She described him as well-behaved and very sweet. He also got along great with her dogs. Kirby is extremely gentle and good natured and will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family. At his young age, he is in his prime for training and socialization. Please remember that young pups require a lot of time, love, and patience to become the best doggie citizens they can be. Adopt Kirby because every home deserves a touch of his gentle, sweet, and good-natured spirit! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Stumpy-Bassett Hound/Labrador Retriever (Bassador) male, ~ 1-2 yr. (March 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for application to adopt. Stumpy is living in a very rural area with a family that asked for help in finding him a new home. He's used to living a family life with children and loves the children. He would be best as an only dog. He's a mixed dog but a popular mix, called a Bassador. The Bassador temperament can vary a lot depending on whether they take after their Lab or Basset Hound parent more. Generally, they are sociable and loving. We are fortunate to know how Stumpy has done, living with a family. Bassadors love attention, especially from their favorite person. If you want a dog with a very unique look who’s loyal to a fault, the Bassador could be the dog for you! Stumpy's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com Include your location and a phone number for future communication.
