Story
Meet Esme   Esme is a beautiful 5-year-old, 43 lb blue-nosed pit / beagle mix with a heart as big as her personality. This sweet girl is the definition of a Velcro dog—she absolutely loves being close to her people and thrives on companionship, affection, and attention.   Esme is housebroken, loyal, and incredibly loving. She’s happiest when she’s by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. She has a curious, outdoorsy spirit and enjoys exploring new sights and smells, plus a good run around the yard.   She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time—ideally someone who works from home or isn’t gone for long hours. Esme truly bonds deeply with her people and struggles when left alone for extended periods.   Esme is being surrendered through no fault of her own. Her owner’s life changed due to pregnancy and a new job, leaving Esme alone for up to 12 hours a day—often confined to a basement instead of getting the walks and attention she deserves. She’s now looking for a second chance at the life she’s been missing.   She is great with kids, cats, and many (but not all) dogs. Like many smart and energetic pups, she will thrive with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She did once jump a fence after being left alone outside for hours, so she’ll do best with supervision or a secure yard.   Esme is incredibly loyal and ready to give her whole heart to someone who can give her the time and love she craves. She’s not just a pet—she’s a best friend waiting to happen.   We are currently looking for a foster or adopter for this special girl.   To apply to adopt Esme, go to: www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application (please use a laptop or computer)          If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Angel. This sweet 1.5 year old 24 pound baby girl Beagle/Terrier mix is a true survivor. She has been through more than most Dogs ever should. She was found abandoned in a dumpster after giving birth to her puppies- scared, exhausted and left to fend for herself. Despite everything she’s still here and slowly learning that the world can be kind. Right now she’s understandably, fearful and cautious. New people, sudden movements, and unfamiliar environments can overwhelm her and she will try to run if she feels unsafe. She’ll need a patient, experienced home that understands shy dogs that may be a flight risk and will be committed to keeping her secure and giving her time to trust. But underneath that fear is a gentle, tender soul. You can see it in her soft eyes and the way she quietly observes everything around her. She wants to trust so badly. If you sit with her long enough and stroke her side softly, you can see her relax and begin to understand what Love feels like. With time, consistency, and a calm environment to support her needs she will get there. Once she begins to feel safe, you’ll start to see glimpses of her true personality: quiet, affection, curiosity, and a deep capacity to bond. What this little Angel needs: A quiet, low-traffic homeA securely fenced yard (this is a must)An adopter experienced with fearful or undersocialized dogsSomeone patient and committed to going at her paceShe may do best with another calm, confident dog who can help show her the ropes, but thoughtful introductions will be important. This is the kind of dog where every small step forward will be a huge victory. If you have the heart and patience to help her feel safe in this world she will undoubtably build an unbreakable bond with you. Quietly changing your life in return. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hello, My name is Tag, and yes I like to play tag as my name suggest. I am 100% beagle and I am 5 years old. (DOB: 12/08/2020) I enjoy walks and I love eating! And when I am not doing neither, I am just laying down on my bed resting. I love resting! I am shy, believe it or not, so it will take a few to getting used to new people, but with a nice treat, you can win me over. I really like receiving hugs and been patted. I am looking for a new home that offers me a lot of love and care. I promise I will LOVE you back unconditionally.

Story
Victoria is a 3.5-year-old, 26 lb beagle mix with a stunning tricolor coat and beautiful brown eyes. This gentle, sweet-natured girl is looking for her perfect forever home. Calm, loving, and endlessly patient, she's already proven she can handle a lot of life's chaos with quiet grace. She walks nicely on a leash...No pulling, lunging at squirrels, or stopping to investigate every blade of grass. Good behavior is her default mode…and she’s remarkably quiet. Victoria has a wonderful temperament...Zero aggression, not even when a well-meaning 3-year-old treats her like a stuffed animal. Victoria is patient, tolerant, and genuinely good-natured through and through. She loves dogs, cats & people and is friendly with everyone she meets. Victoria absolutely loves other dogs and must be in a home with a canine companion. She’s a lovely, sensitive girl. Victoria settles in easily and snuggles when she's ready. She's respectful of her space, but won’t turn down an invitation to join you in bed. Once she trusts you, she's all in. Because loud noises and traffic can scare her, Victoria will be happiest in a quieter suburban or rural environment rather than a busy city, somewhere she can enjoy walks feeling safe and relaxed. Victoria is a lovely, sensitive girl looking for a calm, loving home. Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturday 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered
