Story
Some dogs arrive in rescue angry at the world. Others arrive completely shut down. And then there are dogs like Eddie — little souls who have every reason not to trust people anymore, yet still look at you with hopeful eyes and quietly ask for love.   Eddie is an absolutely adorable one-year-old Beagle mix weighing about 30 pounds, and everything about him is endearing. From his compact little body to his soulful face and soft expression, he is impossible not to fall in love with. He has the kind of face that makes you want to scoop him up, sit down, and promise him that life is finally going to be better.   Sadly, Eddie’s beginning was anything but easy.   He was rescued from a neglect and abandonment situation along with eight other dogs. They had clearly been surviving rather than truly living. Although friendly, they were frightened and unsure of the world around them. It is heartbreaking to imagine how long Eddie went without the stability, affection, and care every dog deserves.   But despite everything, this sweet boy’s spirit is shining through almost immediately.   Within a single day in foster care, Eddie has already started relaxing and showing his true personality. His foster mom says he is soaking up affection and beginning to understand that kindness is real. He has welcomed the companionship of the other dogs in the home and has quickly traded fear for hopeful little smiles and a wagging tail.   Eddie is not an overwhelming or demanding dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be near his people. He is quiet, gentle, affectionate, and incredibly easy to love. Whether he is curling up beside you after a long day or trotting happily along on a walk, Eddie seems grateful for every small moment of comfort and attention.   We truly believe Eddie could fit beautifully into many different homes and lifestyles. He would make a wonderful family dog for children wanting a loyal best friend. He would thrive with a young couple looking for a devoted companion in an apartment or condo. He could also be the perfect addition to an empty-nester home where he could enjoy walks, adventures, and peaceful evenings filled with love and companionship.   What Eddie wants most is what he has likely never had — consistency, safety, and someone who will never leave him behind again.   He is fully grown, fully ready for a forever home, and fully deserving of a life filled with kindness and commitment. Somewhere out there is the family meant for Eddie, and when they find him, they are going to wonder how they ever lived without him.   To give Eddie the loving future he deserves, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 31, 2026, 9:29 pm

Story
Best friend Buddy is the total package. He loves people and greets everyone, always eager for attention.   At 12, Buddy ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter. We do not know his backstory or why such a sweet boy would land in a shelter. We may never know.     At Critter Cavalry, we adore seniors and believe they deserve every chance to find a loving home. You won’t regret considering Buddy—he loves everyone, whether human or animal. Buddy is everyone’s best friend.     Buddy is healthy for a senior. He has limited sight and hearing, but is otherwise in good shape. He navigates his foster home easily and enjoys exploring the fenced yard. He comes when called—just use a louder voice.   Buddy is ready to retire with a couple eager to add him to their family. He’d love a fenced yard to explore—size isn’t important—and an active retirement with short walks and car rides. He will be a wonderful addition to a family that matches his lifestyle.   If you want a new best friend, Buddy is perfect for you. To learn more about adopting him, contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or 615-943-7311. Approved application and adoption fee required.    May 31, 2026, 9:29 pm

Story
Meet McCoy – the sweetest little sidekick you didn’t know you were missing. At just 4.5 months old and 24 pounds, McCoy is a delightful mix of silly, snuggly, and smart. He may be a tiny bit shy at first, but give him a little patience and you’ll quickly discover his playful personality and affectionate heart. McCoy comes from a pretty interesting family tree! His mom is a Heeler/Beagle mix and his dad is a cream-colored Goldendoodle, which resulted in one very unique and adorable pup. He has the coloring of his siblings but favors his Beagle-mix mama in looks — with short little legs, a loooong Basset-style body, and a thick, medium-length coat that’s perfect for cuddling. Though he was born outside and spent his early weeks living outdoors with his parents and littermates, McCoy is now thriving inside a loving foster home. He’s learning all about family life — from the excitement of greeting you at the door (he gives the best welcome-home kisses!) to living with young boys ages 6 and 10. Every day he grows braver and more confident. At first, the big dogs in his foster home made him a little nervous — but now? He’s happily part of the crew. He absolutely loves to run and play outside, and fetch with tennis balls is quickly becoming one of his favorite games. And yes… he is SMART. You can just see those wheels turning. One of the most special things about McCoy is how deeply he bonds with his people. When his foster mom recently had a terrible migraine, McCoy instinctively curled up beside her and stayed close, offering quiet comfort. He’s not just cute — he truly cares. His activity level is beautifully balanced. He enjoys playtime and adventures, but he’s just as happy snuggled up right next to you. With a loving, supportive family, McCoy is going to absolutely bloom into the best kind of companion — loyal, joyful, and full of heart. He is expected to grow to around 45–50 pounds when fully grown. If you’re looking for a special boy who is adorable inside and out, McCoy may be your perfect match. To learn more about McCoy, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. We transport from our rescue base in Nashville up the northeastern corridor of states to approved adopters. McCoy is ready to find his forever family — maybe it’s you. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 31, 2026, 9:29 pm

Story
Meet Esme   Esme is a beautiful 5-year-old, 43 lb blue-nosed pit / beagle mix with a heart as big as her personality. This sweet girl is the definition of a Velcro dog—she absolutely loves being close to her people and thrives on companionship, affection, and attention.   Esme is housebroken, loyal, and incredibly loving. She’s happiest when she’s by your side, whether you’re relaxing at home or heading out for an adventure. She has a curious, outdoorsy spirit and enjoys exploring new sights and smells, plus a good run around the yard.   She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time—ideally someone who works from home or isn’t gone for long hours. Esme truly bonds deeply with her people and struggles when left alone for extended periods.   Esme is being surrendered through no fault of her own. Her owner’s life changed due to pregnancy and a new job, leaving Esme alone for up to 12 hours a day—often confined to a basement instead of getting the walks and attention she deserves. She’s now looking for a second chance at the life she’s been missing.   She is great with kids, cats, and many (but not all) dogs. Like many smart and energetic pups, she will thrive with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. She did once jump a fence after being left alone outside for hours, so she’ll do best with supervision or a secure yard.   Esme is incredibly loyal and ready to give her whole heart to someone who can give her the time and love she craves. She’s not just a pet—she’s a best friend waiting to happen.   We are currently looking for a foster or adopter for this special girl.   To apply to adopt Esme, go to: www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application (please use a laptop or computer)          If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG! Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
I rescued Obi in May 2023, I remembered his bio mentioned him purposely abandoned by his first owner. you can tell by the look he gives anyone that this dog is a dependent baby. As of the time of writing this, I trust him more than my 2 year old nephew. He's been by my side ever since I had him, but his most loving characteristic is slowly becoming my biggest struggle as a dog parent. My household was once bigger when I got him, but as years moved on, my siblings moved out, my grandparents are slowly leaving, and my focus on my career path is only growing. Soon I fear this dog that loves to smell the life outdoors and be around familiar loving people he can trust to share space with, would have to live In a house that has nothing but waisted time, dread. I'm hoping to see an young family who would love an opportunity to continue, as it would be my pleasure to find the most for obi. If you live in the tri-state area, I would be willing to deliver this lovable dog to you myself.
