Dwight is a very joyful, happy, surprisingly athletic guy who is so ready for his next shot at being your buddy. He needed to come back to PAWS after his owner passed away, having spent nearly 10 years with her. Dwight has lived with another dog (who is also now at PAWS Atlanta, Chooch) and with children, and he’s good with both. He is house trained and was able to roam freely in his former home without any issues. When left alone, he plays and rests. He knows several commands, including sit, down and come. Dwight walks politely on leash although he sometimes feels compelled to bark at wildlife and the occasional jogger. Dwight has some beagle chattiness in him. So, his ideal home would be with someone who has a home where he can be free to express his thoughts and feelings. He’s described as smart, calm, confident, dependent, protective happy and cuddly.

Story
Carson is an 10 year old, Beagle/Dachshund mix. He‘s medium in size and weighs 25 lbs. Carson is short and stocky and the size of a beagle, but with a long body, color and face of a dachshund. Carson loves to cuddle, loves leash walks and hanging out with his family. He also gets along well with other small dogs. He LOVES small females the most! He’s also good with cats which is a bonus! Carson prefers dogs his size and smaller in the home. He was attacked by larger dogs in the past so no big dogs please. Carson loves to cuddle more than anything and really loves sleeping in the bed and watching movies on the sofa. He prefers a home with someone home during the day, so he can be let outside to potty on a regular basis. Carson is also crate-trained, neutered and current on shots. He has always had a fenced yard and we prefer for him to have a fence in his forever home.October 28, 2025, 2:41 pm

Story
Ruby had been with us for almost 10 years, she is 11 now. We recently moved and cannot keep her so we are looking to rehome her. She is an indoor dog, very mild mannered and is house-trained....she will tell you when she needs to go out by going to the door and barking or going in circles. She is about 11 years old but still very active and likes to play with toys etc and fetch. She has had a a previous hip/leg injury from before we adopted her but it doesn't prevent her from doing anything she just walks a little funny. She is great with kids and grew up with ours along with cats and another dog. She has no history of any aggression towards people or animals but she does bark a little when someone comes to the door which we always liked as a warning with having kids at home.
