Story
A SWEET LITTLE FRIEND:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 16 lbs. Hi, I’m Cyrus!  I came to Mostly Mutts with a few other dogs after our owner passed away and a lot of dogs were discovered in the home.  We all had terrible upper respiratory infections and skin issues that took some time to recover from, but we recovered and now it’s time for us to find new homes with great families that will take good care of us and love us forever. I came in initially a little scared, likely due to all the life changes, but I’ve blossomed and love people a lot.   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I formerly lived with a lot of dogs that I liked, and I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t quite ready to play with them, I also did not show any aggression, so if you have a dog, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.         • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Due to my former circumstances, I came in pretty timid and shy, but now that I’ve seen all that life has to offer, I’m blossoming very well!  The volunteers describe me as a sweetheart who is friendly and a great dog that enjoys affection. I can still be timid about new things but just give me a little time and I’m sure we’ll do well together! / My energy level is currently 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I’ve learned the ‘come’ and ‘leave it’ commands, and I greet friendly strangers without jumping on them. Check back soon to see what else I’ve learned. / I’ve been experiencing some kennel stress.  The volunteers fitted me for a calming collar, and I’ve just started an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with this. / I've been having accidents on the shelter schedule and sometimes tinkle when I am nervous.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like to spend time with the volunteers both inside and in the play yard, so a nice, fenced yard where we can hang out together would be great in my new home.  A nice Nylabone is a favorite treat of mine and I’m sure we’ll find lots of other toys I like and things we like doing together. / I am settling in nicely at the shelter, but – just as I needed time to warm up there, I may need a little extra time in my new home, so I would not want to be rushed.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m still getting an oatmeal bath once a week and this can be done in my new home. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I’ve started on an inexpensive anxiety medication to help with some shelter/kennel stress; I’ll likely be able to wean off of it once I’m settled in my new home.  I am looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 15, 2025, 1:13 pm

Story
Name: Charlie Horse Age: 4 Years Breed: Beagle Gender: Male Meet Charlie Horse! Charlie Horse is a gentle 4-year-old Beagle with a soft heart and soulful eyes. Rescued from a hoarding situation by local authorities and brought to a shelter, we were able to step in and give him a chance to heal and find the loving home he’s always deserved. Timid but Tender Charlie Horse is a shy and quiet soul who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He may be timid at first, but with patience and kindness, he begins to open up—and once he trusts you, he bonds deeply and becomes a loyal, loving companion. Recovering and Growing Stronger When he came to us, Charlie Horse was suffering from flea dermatitis, but with care and comfort, he’s healing well and starting to feel better every day. He’s also recovered from kennel cough and is gaining strength and confidence. Good with Other Dogs Charlie Horse gets along well with other gentle dogs and would do best in a calm, supportive home where he can feel secure and continue to build his confidence at his own pace. If you have a soft spot for the quiet ones and want to give a sweet pup the love and security he’s never known, Charlie Horse is waiting for you. Come meet this beautiful soul and help him write his happy ending. Let me know if you'd like to add adoption contact details or a foster testimonial! ##2353479##

Story
Meet sweet and loving bonded pair, Zandra (brindle) and Stella (lighter face)! These sisters came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after they were both abandoned in an apartment. They have both adjusted well to life in their loving foster home, but can be timid and uncertain at times. Once they settle in and get to know you, both are very loving and have great personalities. Loud noises can make both Zandra and Stella a little nervous, so a home with older (or no) kids would be preferred. Zandra is a brindle-colored terrier mix. She is a mature girl, who is estimated to be around 8yr old, and weighs 43lbs. Zandra loves to play in her fenced yard, is treat motivated, and is eager to please. She is crate trained, perfectly house trained, and has a medium energy level. Although she always has a serious look on her face, don&#39t let it fool you - Zandra is very loving and sweet! Stella is a Beagle/Hound mix, is estimated to be around 5yr old, and weighs 40lbs. She loves to run around her fenced yard with her sister Zandra, is very food motivated, and is overall a sweet girl. Stella is crate trained and house trained. She is the caretaker of this bonded pair, and is always looking out for her sister and offering her support and love! Both Stella and Zandra are heartworm positive, and are currently available for a foster to adopt situation until their HW treatment is complete, and they are both medically cleared for adoption. If you are not familiar with Heartworm disease, dogs get it from mosquitoes and it is not contagious. It is easily prevented & highly treatable, but requires extended rest during treatment. BarkVille will cover all of Zandra and Stella&#39s medical expenses while she&#39s being fostered and receiving HW treatment. If you&#39re interested in adopting this bonded pair, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.March 4, 2025, 10:09 pm

Story
Meet Jenna, she’s around two years old and just 18 pounds, and ALL beagle sweetness.  She’s safe with us now, but her life hasn’t been easy. Found by a mailman out in the country who was feeding her when she was abandoned - but she most likely was chained outside her whole life. Sweet baby is heartworm positive AND whatever she chewed on to get free took a toll on her mouth and teeth. We see bad teeth like this when dogs are on heavy logging chains - in pens or chewing rocks. Jenna will require a pretty big  dental, but that will be ok. Dealing with heartworms sadly is something we do daily too, bc of where most of our dogs come from ….. but to see a dog so young that has suffered so, is tough. But she’s still so gentle and loving and great with everyone and all dogs - she’s pretty petite as well! Oh did we mention “girl is a foodie ?” She’s so grateful for every bite and loving her Farmer’s Dog soft food ( thanks to rescue buddies at Bosley’s Place) who shared with us.  Rescue Me Georgia utilizes a slow kill method of heartworm treatment studied by an Atlanta area veterinary cardiologist. All treatment medications are provided. Typically, there are no lasting effects after successful treatment  Interested in adopting?
