Story
A SWEET & FRIENDLY GIRL: Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 36 lbs. Hello – I’m Honeybun!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so happy they were able to bring me into the MM family!  I’ve recently spent time in a couple of great temporary foster homes and am now back at the shelter – sharing love with everyone I meet. I have a large tumor on my right hind quarter that will be operated on approx. 02/25/26, see medical below for details about that.  I also needed a good dental cleaning which I have already had completed.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I enjoyed hanging out with two dogs in one of my temp foster homes as well as playing with some dogs I met at the Mostly Mutts shelter, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I was a bit scared when I arrived at the shelter but began to blossom quickly.  Then the weather got really cold and there was an ‘all call’ for temporary fosters to host us until the weather passed, I went to a nice home and gained even more confidence there and had a great time too!  I have a quiet and gentle nature, and my foster said I am ‘just a lovely dog’ who will be a great addition to a lucky family. With my cute little face, I am ready to charm my new family and live a great life with them. / My energy level is 6-7 so I have pep in my step at 10 years old. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I will be learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  Check back soon to see what I have mastered. / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule with only a few accidents and they were good in my temp foster homes. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  My favorite thing is being with my people.  Whether we are enjoying a nice walk or cuddling on the couch, I treasure those times.  I love to be in a lap, so make room for me, and let’s cuddle! / I was VERY nervous during the car ride from the shelter to my foster home.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I had a good dental cleaning and a few teeth removed, so my mouth is fresh again.  I have a large tumor on my right hind quarter that has been evaluated by the vet and as much as possible will be removed approx. 2/25/26, so local adoption only. Just ask about that. I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 11, 2026, 6:55 am

Story
A SWEET & FRIENDLY GIRL: Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 19 lbs. Hi there, I’m Lori! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family. I just went into a foster home, so we’ll be learning even more about me soon-but for now, just know I’m already feeling grateful, hopeful, and excited for this new chapter!  I needed a good dental cleaning when I arrived, so I’ve had that.  I’m also heartworm positive and I’ll be treated for that in early April and I hope to be with my new family before my treatment starts.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I haven’t met other dogs at Mostly Mutts yet, so let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers report that I’m a very friendly and happy girl with a sweet and calm nature. I was a superb bather-relaxed in the tub and so patient during my extensive ear cleaning. I have a peaceful side, but I’m also a happy and playful pup who enjoys having fun. / Energy Level: 3–5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. My ‘sit’ and ‘down’ commands need to be on soft surfaces please as I don’t like doing those on a hard surface. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’ve had a few accidents on the shelter schedule, but not too many, so please keep me on a good schedule and I think I’ll do well. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time with the nice volunteers and having fun too. Pup-Peroni treats are a big favorite, and I’ll happily smile for the camera-the photographer even said I was a sweet, fun, and friendly subject! I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we’ll like doing together / I can’t think of any dislikes but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’ve just had a dental cleaning with a few extractions, so my mouth is fresh again.  Since I wasn't kept on heartworm prevention in my previous home, I'm HW positive. The good news is that I'll be treated for that in early April and Mostly Mutts will cover the cost of that treatment with their vet, so local adoption please.  I hope to be with my family before treatment starts. Since I'm a Dachshund mix, I naturally have a long back which is subject to injury, so please don't allow me to jump on and off furniture so we can keep me safe and healthy. I’m a darling little pup looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 16, 2026, 11:52 am

Story
A WONDERFUL PUPPY FRIEND: Approx. 7-8 months old / Approx. 19 lbs. & growing Hi, my name is Cuddlebug!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m having fun in my foster home learning and playing while I wait to meet my new family!  Everyone agrees that my name suits me perfectly as I just love to cuddle!  I’m now ready to find my new family and start living the good life with them! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I’ve not met dogs while with Mostly Mutts, though I talk to the ones I see from a distance. If you have a dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be buddies! / Cats unknown. / I enjoyed the company of the two kids in a temporary foster home (ages 5 and 11).  So, let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over with my puppy energy. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet and snuggly puppy who is ready to love and be loved.  A typically playful and fun pup, with a little mischievous nature - if a chair is pulled away from the table, I’ve been known to scamper onto the table – and I have mastered the ‘puppy high jump’. Silly me! My foster says that I’m a great dog who is still very much a puppy! / My energy level 5 -7, sometimes a little higher.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog - so get ready for some training with your new best friend.  In my foster home, I’m working on the ‘sit command, and I’m sure you can teach me lots more. / I’ve had good crate manners at the shelter, as well as in my foster home. / I’m still a young puppy, and my potty habits are a work in progress.  I’m getting the hang of it though, as the accidents are becoming less and less on a good take-out schedule, every few hours. Please continue to be consistent with me on a very good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES: There are few things better than squeaky toys, playing outside with my people and cuddling.  I like mealtimes too, but I prefer to eat in the afternoon and evening, not in the mornings. / Loud noises startle me and I am no fan of the vacuum cleaner.  Otherwise, I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on my immunizations, micro-chipped and neutered. If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    February 14, 2026, 3:06 pm

Story
A SWEET LITTLE FELLOW:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 15 lbs. Hi, my name is Sean!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am really enjoying the love and attention I am getting from the nice volunteers.  I came in with some healing skin and a little fur loss, but I’m being well cared for, so I’m coming along!  Now I’m available for adoption, so plan to come meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and did not like them, so I’ll want to be your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me.    • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet, friendly, and loving little guy with a calm, easygoing nature. I was especially sweet for my photo shoot and such a good boy during my bath. I was even a wonderfully patient sport when they had to do some intense gum removal from my chest - how did I even get that there? I’ll happily offer up my paws for a deep clean and stayed calm for ear cleanings, too. I’m truly an all-around sweet, relaxed, and loving boy. / Energy Level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training with the free for life training that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners have been good. / My potty manners have been very good on the shelter schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like being held and absolutely love attention. My tail wags when I walk, and I enjoy spending time outside with the volunteers - and inside with them, too! / I can’t think of any dislikes yet, though like all dogs I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. Since I came in with a little fur loss and healing skin, I’m getting medicated baths twice a week and these can be easily done in my new home.  I’m a wonderful dog looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  February 19, 2026, 6:37 am

Story
A HANDSOME FRIENDLY FELLOW:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 35 lbs. & needs to lose weight Hi there, I’m Monroe!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m thrilled to be here getting a 2nd chance at finding a great home!  I needed bloodwork before my neuter surgery, and I had that done thanks to a generous grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization! Now I’m ready to find my furever family! Perhaps it’s you?  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and was interested, although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  I enjoyed taking walks and sharing toys and beds with the 8-year-old female dog in my temporary foster home, but didn’t enjoy sharing with a different larger golden doodle in another – perhaps he was just too energetic for me.  I prefer the more mellow dogs I have met, so if you have a nice, mellow dog at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  / I met a cat while visiting a temp. foster home and I was unsure, but not aggressive. There were 2 cats in another temp. foster, and I didn’t do too well with them, so perhaps no kitties for me. / I met two nice boys around 8 and 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them.  I even didn’t mind when they rode a scooter near me.  I also liked the kids age 7-14 in my temp. foster home, and I even followed 2-year-old twins around so gently and sweetly in another home I visited.  A home with kids 10 years old (or a little younger) could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet, gentle boy who loves people and has a happy and friendly nature.  Like many dogs of my breed mix, I’m also quite vocal, so I’ll do best in a home where I can sing my songs without bothering any neighbors.  No apartment/condo type home please.  I came in very stressed, but once I had time to settle, my calm and loving side started to shine.  I was even a champ for my bath, leaning into the soothing massage and ear cleaning like it was a spa day.  I’m a hefty guy but working hard on losing some weight using the green bean diet, and I’m very proud of my 8-pound weight loss.  With love, patience, and a cozy home, I know I’ll thrive. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’, and ‘place’ commands.  I also walk nicely on a leash and accept friendly strangers without jumping.  I bet you can teach me even more!  / I don’t love being in my crate, and I can be loud when in it.  Luckily, I haven’t really needed one in my foster homes.  / My potty habits are good in my foster home, where I enjoy 3-4 walks a day to potty and sniff around.  Hopefully that’ll be the case in my new home, too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love spending time in the great outdoors sniffing all the wonderful scents!  I also really enjoy soaking up all the scratches around my head and ears – feels so good!  I also love a good game of fetch, followed by some belly rubs and a nice nap.  I have a special Kong treat ball that’s tasty and fun – just watch the treats as I’m doing so well losing weight on my “green bean diet.”  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we enjoy doing together! / I don’t like being picked up and when there’s too much going on.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.   • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I recently started on a low dose of anxiety medication, to help me with some shelter stress I’ve been experiencing.  I’m on an over-the-counter joint supplement that is good for all older dogs.  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.  Be sure to ask about my green bean diet so I can continue to lose weight in my new home.  I’m looking for a great family that loves the hound dog vocal breed mix! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  January 22, 2026, 12:13 pm

Story
Meet Flint, an adorable Beagle/Dachshund looking for his forever family! This poor boy ended up at a high kill shelter after he was confiscated form a hoarding case. Flint isn&#39t going to let his sad past define him, and he is working on adjusting to &#34normal&#34 life with his foster family! He is estimated to be around a year old and weighs just 15lbs. This cutie walks great on leash, is house trained, and is working on his crate training. Flint loves other dogs, and would do best in a forever home that has another confident and friendly pup that can help show him the ropes. Fint is best described as sweet, charming, and loving. He will need a family who is patient with him, and will continue to help him feel safe and confident. He does not like being picked up, but Flint does enjoy being pet and loved on. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. If you&#39re interested in adopting this deserving boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.May 24, 2025, 10:49 am
