Story
Bessie is one cute little Beagle girl! She's tiny at about 15 lbs, and is 1 - 2 years old. Bessie is a friendly beagle and a good snuggler - her tail is always wagging.. She loves to play with other dogs and will engage in chase games and wrestling with full-size beagles. She's gaining confidence with walking on a leash, but may be a little skittish around traffic, loud noises, and other things that roll by. Bessie is mostly housebroken, she settles in a crate after a little whining; she'll sleep in her crate but prefers your bed. She's generally quiet and non-destructive. She does enjoy getting exercise, doing zoomies and exploring. Her ideal home would have another young dog in residence, people around most of the day and a fenced yard. Bessie is available in the Boston area for visits. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Sadie is a very sweet hound girl who is coming to us from a Louisiana rescue. She's been fostered in a home environment since last Summer, after being found pregnant and delivering a littler of pups. The puppies have all been placed and now it's Sadie's turn to find her Forever Home, She has over come heartworms and fear of people. She is still a bit shy but if you sit down on the floor, ground or in a chair she will come to you. She is easily won over with treats! She is active, likes toys and loved her plastic swimming pool in the hot weather. She is social with other dogs. Has never offered to bite or scratch jumping up. Sadie is very much a little lady. She just needs to get to know you. Once she knows you, she loves petting and is always happy to see you. She walks well with a harness and does not try to get away. Sadie is about 5 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. Ready for transport to an interested adopter. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Turbo (aka Furby) is a handsome basset hound/beagle mix who is no longer getting along with an older dog in his home. He was originally adopted from NECR about 2 years ago. He is around 3 years old, around 30 pounds, neutered, with a perfect mix of beagle playfulness and basset hound laziness. He is house broken, invisible fence trained, happily sleeps in his bed all night in his humans room, rides great in a car, good on a leash, and good with kids and most dogs. (Unknown on cats). He is very food motivated and enjoys keeping himself busy with his puzzle dog treat toys. He loves to sniff outside and roll in the grass. Unlike most beagles, he actually rarely ever barks. Along with our eldest dog, he also lives with a 104 pound rottweiler who he has forced to be his best friend. We believe Turbo would do best in home that if he was an only dog, his humans are home the majority of the time, or if he had another dog sibling, they are a larger/more dominant breed to reduce any chances of him bullying a submissive dog. His owners are so heartbroken to rehome this lovable pup, but know he deserves his perfect family. Turbo is available for visits in NH. Story
Frack is a 1 year old, sweet lemon beagle from the south. He is a friendly, loving boy who is working hard to overcome his wariness of humans. He was extremely skittish when he first arrived but has made tremendous progress while at his foster home. He is starting to learn humans aren’t so scary. He happily greets his foster parents at he door, bouncing and barking with excitement. He will come to them to take a treat and likes to snuggle on the sofa and bed. While Frack is still hesitant of being approached, he willingly approaches visitors. He LOVES the other dogs and is happiest when he is outside running around and playing. When inside, he loves snuggling with the pack, often pressed up against one of his foster siblings. He enjoys chewing on bones and playing with toys. He is generally quiet except for mealtimes. He gets so excited he bounces and howls! Like any beagle, the way to his heart is surely through food! Frack will need a patient adopter who will allow him time to get comfortable in his new home and will continue his leash training. A fenced in yard and another dog are a must. A quiet home with children 13 years or older, and someone who is home a lot so that he can continue to gain confidence would be helpful. Frack is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits.

Story
Alice aka Allie is a local surrender who's mom found herself in a new living situation and although she loved her deeply, was unable to keep her. Allie is about 7 years old. She was adopted from a southern shelter about 2 years ago and relocated to Massachusetts. Pretty much from the time she was adopted she has been urinating frequently. The frequency has increased over the last two years and Allie now wears a diaper to get through the day without accidents. We suspect Cushing's Disease as along with the frequent urination she has a distended belly, a severely increased appetite and thirst and a few patches of hair loss. Update: Alice has completed her testing and she does in fact have Cushing's Disease. She has been placed on medication and we are hopeful she will be feeling better soon. Although she will need to stay on this medication for the rest of her life, her overall prognosis is good. Allie is looking for an adopter willing to continue her treatment. Allie is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits.

Story
Curtis is an owner surrender. He is about 7 years old and about 40ish pounds. Curtis has been through a lot of changes in the last few years. Several years ago he was a stray running around a neighborhood down south. Fortunately, a Good Samaritan was able to catch him and bring him inside to safety. Unable to find his owner, she decided to keep him. He was a typical stray learning to live in a home. Curtis was very skinny, terrible on leash, timid, anxious and not housetrained. She worked with him and he has overcome all that to be a sweet, friendly snuggle bug. Curtis is pretty laid back, enjoying a few naps and a nice walk each day. A new baby entered the home several months ago and has seemed to set off his anxieties. His owners have tried several things to help him, but his anxieties continue. He spends most of his day hiding and is generally always nervous. The baby’s sleep schedule has caused him to confuse his days and nights. Although heartbroken, his owners have decided to rehome him as their home will become more chaotic as the baby grows. They want the best for Curtis and hate to see him so stressed. Curtis would love a quiet home with someone who is home a lot. He is used to being an only dog so a doggie sibling is not necessary although he likes other dogs. He is a bit chubby and would benefit from a diet and regular exercise schedule. Curtis is expected to arrive in MA in early June.
