Story
Beauford is a sweet, active, lemon and white beagle from Virginia. He's a little guy at about 25 lbs. He loves to play and to be outside for hours of the day (if you are looking for a quiet couch potato, he is not the dog for you). He would do best with a fenced in yard with room to sniff and sing. He loves people and attention and also does well with other dogs: his foster reports there is not an aggressive bone in his body. When it is time for bed, he will sleep through the night and is largely housetrained. When Beauford arrived we noticed that he had a lump on his butt. The mass has been surgically removed and biopsied and the prognosis is good for a healthy recovery. Vets have estimated Beauford's age at 5 - 8 yrs old. His foster reports that he is like a puppy at times and full of energy. He's a joyful little Beagle who will bring you companionship and laughs. Available for visits north of Boston near southern NH. Story
Meet Pete, a 5 year old beagle mix whose heart is even bigger than his spirit. This loving amputee is a poster pup for resilience, proving that having three legs doesn't slow him down one bit. His favorite place to be is running and exploring the great outdoors. Whether he's chasing a ball, bunnies, or just sniffing the breeze, the backyard is his personal happy place. He enjoys playing with other dogs, once he gets warmed up to them. He loves people and children. Whether they are crawling over him or cuddling on the couch, he loves the attention. Due to his IVDD and surgery two years, his right behind leg had to be amputated. Pete may have some medical difficulties, but his cute face and loyalty will say it all. Pete is first and foremost a certified cuddle expert. His greatest joy is being as close to his people as possible. Pete believes there's no such thing as too much affection! He will gently lean into your hand for endless pets, and once you sit down, you can expect him to wiggle his way onto your lap or into the crook of your arm for the deepest, most satisfying cuddles. Story
Kody is a young beagle/hound mix, about a year old and weighing 35 - 40 lbs. He's doing well at his foster home in Virginia and loves to play with their dogs. He quickly learned how to use the doggie door and is housebroken. Kody hasn't had the benefit of much training and could use a little work with leash walking and obedience, but he's eager to please and learns quickly. Kody is friendly and engaging with new people and would be a good family pet, although he might be a bit rambunctious around very little children. Kody will arrive Dec 17th If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Bonnie has come a long way from living in an outdoor kennel. She is starting to enjoy the comforts of living in a home and learning how to be loved although is still timid and shy. Bonnie needs plenty of time to get comfortable in her new environment and with new people. Once comfortable, she seeks out affection and snuggles freely. She does best with slow movements and people who crouch down to meet her. She loves chilling on the sofa and sleeping in bed with her people. She is good with other dogs, has medium energy and is doing wonderful with house training. Bonnie is about 5 years old and 36 lbs. Adopters who are willing to give her the time and space to get comfortable at her own pace will be rewarded with a loving, affectionate member of the family. Bonnie is being fostered in the Boston area and is available for visits.
