Story
Hutla, smaller malinois mix, 48 lb, female, spayed, 1 yoHutla is a beautiful, sweet, waggy, happy girl. She looks like a very small shepherd, she is young, playful,  obedient and trainable.  She was abandoned in the fields and showed up one night at someone's farm with her mom Ursa. Needs to be guided with  patience gentleness as she is young and often acts puppy-like. She is loving and cuddly. She is rather friendly and submissive with the other dogs, but gets nervous at first and needs proper introduction. Better with the male dogs. Good on a leash. Needs a fenced yard with 6' fence. Adoption fee $325. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at http://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.com      March 30, 2025, 7:55 pm

Story
Ursa, 2-3 yo, malinois, 56 lb, spayed femaleUrsa showed up one night at someone's farm with her puppy Hutla, apparently abandoned. She is gorgeous, loyal, a lot of love and rather calm and cooperative. She is good with another friendly male dog and her puppy Hutla who used to hide under her at first. However malinois are more like shepherds and should be on a leash around stranger dogs. She needs a secure yard with 6' fence. What’s the first thing you think when you see Roxy? “Whoa… those are some crazy eyes.” Same. But trust us those eyes have seen a lot. Eyes that came minutes away from being euthanized. And now? They suit her perfectly, because Roxy is crazy in all the best ways: - Crazy smart Roxy has classic puppy energy and is still learning how to channel it but in a short time she already knows sit and lay down, is great in a kennel, and is mostly potty trained. With continued training, we’re 100% confident she’ll be an incredibly smart, loyal best friend for an experienced owner. - Crazy friendly Cats? Dogs? Kids? Men? Women? Yes to all. She can be a bit of a bull in a china shop, so she may not be ideal for very small kids but she truly loves everyone she meets. - Crazy athletic She walks well on leash, hops right into the car, and is ready to be your adventure ride-or-die. Hiking, running, exploring there’s no active hobby we can imagine that she wouldn’t love doing right by your side. So if you’re looking to adopt a high-energy, fiercely loyal best friend, Roxy may be your gal. Roxy is being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption many places across the country. Adoption fee includes the cost of transport.December 25, 2025, 10:44 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Meet the real MVP: Nik Bonnito  (No, not the Denver Bronco — but yes, he is named after him )   Nik is a 5-month-old, handsome, fearless, and incredibly smart pup who already thinks he’s the biggest guy in the room. Spoiler alert: he’s still small… for now.   &#226&#156&#168 Why Nik is a standout:   Knows basic commands: sit, stay, down, lay down, leave it, shake, go, potty & more (needs continued practice — he’s still a pup!) Very smart & observant — watches his people closely Food motivated and eager to work for treats Playful and toy-loving (not much of a cuddler) Independent with a confident personality Typical puppy mouthy/bitey, but redirects easily with toys Crate trained and can hold potty for 4–6+ hours Walks nicely on leash, though his nose sometimes leads the way  Loves people Does well with other dogs Unsure with cats     Nik is confident, bold, and protective of his space — the kind of pup who doesn’t realize he’s small and is clearly destined to grow into a strong, loyal companion.    Best fit: A home ready to continue training, provide structure, and appreciate an independent, intelligent pup with big-dog energy.   Think Nik could be your MVP?  Approximately 6 months old. Adoption fee $550  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   January 18, 2026, 2:16 pm
