I was fostering him from a kill shelter. He is very sweet to me. He slept with me in my bed, follows me, etc. He play fights with my dogs. However, he hurt one of my cats badly and killed another. He would be best in a home alone, or maybe another dog. The vet he saw at the shelter said he didn’t do well with men, but he seems to be ok from what I’ve seen. No guarantees. Unknown about kids.

Zoey is, in a word, a lazy goofball. She loves to chill and sit around all day, just as she loves going on her two long walks a day. PLEASE READ: Zoey is not good with strangers. Once she has gotten to know you and knows you're not a threat she is the sweetest, calmest dog that just wants all the pets. But if she does not know you she is aggressive and potentially dangerous. Please only reach out if you have experience with dogs, do not have young children, and our willing to work with us to get Zoey acclimated to you before making the full transition. This beautiful girl, Zuzu, is the mom to Sadie-J, Gus, Daisy, Teddy, Sky and Jazmin. They were all found abandoned at a landfill in Texas. Zuzu has taken her role as a parent seriously and has been a wonderfully patient and protective mother to not only her own puppies, but also to a few other motherless puppies that are staying at the same foster home. Our best guess is that she is around 3 years old. She stands about 18-20" at the shoulder in height. According to her foster, she shows several signs (like chattering her teeth when she gets excited) of having some Belgian Malinois in her mix. Not only is she a great mother, but she is also a very sweet and friendly dog. She loves attention and listens well. She has just been at her fosters for a short period of time but she already gets excited when she hears their car approach and she will come when called. She is friendly with other dogs, and doesn't bother the cats and chickens that are living around her. Help us find this great girl a new home, and apply to adopt her! Personality: friendly, affectionate, listens well Good with: people, dogs, and cats. Has not been around young children yet. We post our available dogs in states across the East Coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes of finding perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs — families must come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine to meet and, hopefully, take home their new best friend. Health & Background &#226&#156&#133 Neutered &#226&#156&#133 Rabies and core vaccines up to date &#226&#156&#133 On monthly flea/tick preventatives &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 60-70 pounds Estimated DoB: 13 February 2025 Give a Dog a Home Rescue suffered a devastating fire on 20 January 2026 losing the house and operations center of the rescue. Fortunately the kennel building was not affected by the fire, however, access to water and septic was lost making the kennels not useable. Many people stepped up to foster and a boarding and day care kennels in Bangor also reached out to offer to take some dogs and they took Cruz and his girl riends Clara Belle and Ryder Girl. They have been at the boarding kennels since the end of January and have been doing great, the staff love having them saying they are wonderful and sweet, they have met children and have been great around them, they are well mannered and ride great in the car. CRUZ is a sweet love bug, he has so much affection, he loves to wrestle and chase with his friends and then snuggle up or hang out when they need to recharge their batteries. He loves everyone he meets and would be very responsive to training. With an active family he would thrive.
