Margot was adopted from the Dallas Animal Shelter in April. She’s around 8 months old now, and enjoys being interactive around people and other pets. She's received 6 weeks of training, is crate and leash trained, and is very intelligent and sensitive to what's going on around her. She needs to be able to go outside and exercise more than I am able to provide her, with my new extreme work requirements that keep me away from home long hours. I think she'd do very well with a single person or a family with children, probably over the age of 5-6, as she is a larger and very active dog. I believe she can make a wonderful companion for the right person who's got more time to spend with her and is looking for a smart, sweet, and energetic dog.

Story
I met Margot at the Dallas Animal Shelter. Her cute, floppy ears and sweet, intelligent eyes immediately had me hooked! She played well outside, was very alert, and responsive to commands. She's been with us for 5 months now, I am a single mom, and my job hours have increased so that I am not home nearly enough to really care for her the way she needs me to. I have taken her out in the car and into social events, and she's fine around other dogs, kids and strangers. I have also had PetCo and private training, so she understands basic commands. But she needs to be running, playing, and receiving more attention than I can give her in my situation. I hate to let her go, but I honestly believe that the right person or family, with a little more recreational time and some more people at home could make her much happier! I do care that anyone who adopts her is kind, responsible, and knows how to care for an energetic, highly intelligent animal like Margot.:)

With her sweet temperament and eagerness to learn new skills, she makes a perfect dog life partner. This girl is the total package. Smart, sweet and lovable. She is good with other dogs, is cat curious but easily redirected. She learns quickly. Listens well. You will just adore her. She is a energetic pup who loves to play! This sweet girl is fearless. She is crate trained and potty training. She is a smart girl who knows how to "sit" "come" "off" and "leave it." Sable is very treat motivated and is eager to please. Aside from playing, Sable also enjoys being loved on and gives kisses. Sable is patiently training for her partner in life. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.
