Story
Zara is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois Mix. We adopted her at 6 months from a shelter, the same day she came back from being fostered. She has lots of energy and loves attention. She has been around other dogs (that she loves to play with), she is great with cats because she use to live with one (she needs to be reminded to be gentle with cats), she absolutely loves kids (she will jump on them as well). She knows a couple of commands. She is not aggressive at all and she senses when you are upset/sad. Her favorite things to do are going on walks, going for a ride, chasing squirrels, and playing with toys that give her a challenge. She is afraid of thunderstorms. We just want her to have an amazing home with a family, or person, that has time for her!

Story
Meet Mika! He is a 1 yr old male Belgian Shepherd/Australian Kelpie mix mix that weighs 57lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/27 as a stray. He has such a loving, gentle, moderate personality. He enjoys being petted and loved on. Takes treats gently and walks well on a leash. Mika does walk with a bit of a wobble, due to an injury to his hip bone. He is doing much better and is anxious to find his own loving forever family. As the other dogs were barking at him, he showed no interest, but we always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. He would enjoy having a secured yard he can enjoy, then definitely come back inside where he can have his own comfy dog bed and the company of his human family. You just can`t resist Mika, he would make such a loving loyal companion.

Story
Madeleine is a 3yr-old spayed female Belgium Shepherd/German Shepherd mix that weighs 73lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/16 as a stray. When she got out into the yard, she got distracted with smelling and was more relaxed. She frequently looked out over the wall. She may have been looking for her owners. She is well mannered. There were several times when it looked like she was going to jump on me, but didn’t when I told her no. She didn`t show any interest in the other dogs barking at her, yet if there is another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She sits for treats, takes them gently, and walks ok on a leash. She has the right amount of energy to be playful, but not overbearing. She’s really sweet and wants to please. Due to her size she would need a yard, but she deserves to spend quality time in her new home with her family.

Story
A spirited six-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix currently living in Richardson, TX, Juniper is a joyful whirlwind of energy wrapped in a tan coat with white and black accents. Juniper is equal parts cuddle queen and squirrel-chasing athlete! Her heart is as big as her bark, whether she’s gently checking on the kids in the house like a protective big sister or sounding the alarm when the mailman dares approach her kingdom, Juniper takes her guardian role seriously. She’s a ball-chasing, toy-destroying, high-energy companion who loves her routines, especially mealtimes. Juniper is house-trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She also knows all the classics like sit, stay, down, heel, come, and gentle. Story
Meet Chevy! Chevy is the most handsome 8 year old pup you will ever lay your eyes on! And he’s got the brains and personality to match! Which to be honest doesn’t always happen haha. He was surrendered by his family to the shelter with his brother. His brother was adopted but Chevy found himself left behind and set to be euthanized for space. When we saw he only had a few hours left we busted him out and I’m so glad we did. Chevy is going to make a family so incredibly happy one day. He is truly a unicorn dog. Going through our temperament evaluation there’s typically a few little things that come up…. Not with Chevy though. Every test we through his way he passed with flying colors. Truthfully it’s almost been a bit boring but he is certainly 100% good boy certified! -Good With Other Dogs. Has an “all out” play style. -Very Sweet and submissive with people. -House/Crate Trained -Leash/Obedience Work We Are Currently Working On. Definitely Had No Work Prior. -Demands belly rubs and he’s cute enough to where you will cave in and give them. -Lower drive GS -High Energy and social would be a great adventure buddy We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Hi! I'm Archie! I'm an approximately 5 year old, male, German Shepherd mix. I was found off Ridge Road near Goodwill on 11/05/2025 with a friend but sadly never reclaimed. I cannot WAIT to start the next chapter of my life in a loving home. I am a shy guy but love to be loved. I enjoy the company of my humans and appear to get along well with female dogs. I have not yet met kids or cats so that would be a new adventure for me. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along! I appear to be house and crate trained, though patience and keeping me on a schedule are necessary to make sure I adapt well to my new home. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, and current on core annual boosters. I did test heartworm positive, but treatment is covered thanks to Rockwall PAWS! If you are interested in making me the newest member of your family, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application and RAC staff will be in touch with next steps!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. January 3, 2026, 12:53 pm

Story
Meet Miyagi Miyagi is a handsome German Shepherd, approximately 7 years old and weighing around 95 pounds, who is now officially available for adoption. He was originally found as a stray off Hennich Lane in Rockwall County on January 3, 2026, with no collar and no microchip. After completing his required stray hold period, Miyagi was never reclaimed and is now ready to find a loving forever home. Since coming into our care, Miyagi has been neutered, microchipped, is current on vaccinations, and has tested heartworm negative. He is a very sweet boy who can be a bit aloof and shy at first, but with time, patience, and a few tasty treats, he warms up nicely. Miyagi takes treats very gently, is highly treat-motivated, knows how to sit, and walks decently on a leash. Miyagi is currently receiving care for a skin condition related to allergies, something that is very common in German Shepherds. He is already on medication to help his skin heal and feel more comfortable, and he's doing well with treatment. If Miyagi is adopted before his treatment is complete, his adopters will receive his remaining antibiotic and antifungal medications, along with clear instructions, so his care can continue seamlessly at home. He also has some stiffness in his hips, which may be related to age or past wear and tear. To keep him feeling his best, Miyagi will benefit from a daily anti-inflammatory medication that helps manage discomfort and support his mobility, allowing him to continue enjoying walks, time with his people, and everyday life. Because we do not have a known history of how Miyagi does with other dogs, a meet and greet is required for any household with an existing dog to ensure the best possible match. Miyagi's adoption fee is $125. If you're interested in giving Miyagi the second chance he deserves, please submit an online adoption application: Apply here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ Miyagi is ready to leave his stray days behind and start his next chapter&#194&#151could that be with you?  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX.
