Story
Zara is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois Mix. We adopted her at 6 months from a shelter, the same day she came back from being fostered. She has lots of energy and loves attention. She has been around other dogs (that she loves to play with), she is great with cats because she use to live with one (she needs to be reminded to be gentle with cats), she absolutely loves kids (she will jump on them as well). She knows a couple of commands. She is not aggressive at all and she senses when you are upset/sad. Her favorite things to do are going on walks, going for a ride, chasing squirrels, and playing with toys that give her a challenge. She is afraid of thunderstorms. We just want her to have an amazing home with a family, or person, that has time for her!

Story
Meet Mika! He is a 1 yr old male Belgian Shepherd/Australian Kelpie mix mix that weighs 57lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/27 as a stray. He has such a loving, gentle, moderate personality. He enjoys being petted and loved on. Takes treats gently and walks well on a leash. Mika does walk with a bit of a wobble, due to an injury to his hip bone. He is doing much better and is anxious to find his own loving forever family. As the other dogs were barking at him, he showed no interest, but we always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. He would enjoy having a secured yard he can enjoy, then definitely come back inside where he can have his own comfy dog bed and the company of his human family. You just can`t resist Mika, he would make such a loving loyal companion.

Story
Meet Tomika, a German Shepherd/Belgian Shepherd mix girl found as a stray on 11/24 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. She weighs 71lbs, is spayed, and is 1 1/2 years old. Though she does walk on a leash, she is a strong puller. Further leash training would be a great idea for Tomika. She does know the sit command and will do so for treats. She is a high energy youngster, and it seems as though a good fit would be an active family. At this point, she might not be a good fit for a home with very young children because she does jump on you. It would be ideal if she had a family that would give her daily playtime, exercise, and enrichment to burn off some of that excess energy. She wants to be part of the family circle. She doesn’t think that’s too much to ask!

Story
A spirited six-and-a-half-year-old Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix currently living in Richardson, TX, Juniper is a joyful whirlwind of energy wrapped in a tan coat with white and black accents. Juniper is equal parts cuddle queen and squirrel-chasing athlete! Her heart is as big as her bark, whether she’s gently checking on the kids in the house like a protective big sister or sounding the alarm when the mailman dares approach her kingdom, Juniper takes her guardian role seriously. She’s a ball-chasing, toy-destroying, high-energy companion who loves her routines, especially mealtimes. Juniper is house-trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. She also knows all the classics like sit, stay, down, heel, come, and gentle. While Juniper absolutely thrives on love and companionship, she shines brightest as the only pet in a calm, stable home where she is the only pet. Her ideal home includes a fenced yard for daily play and space to explore.

Story
Meet Chevy! Chevy is the most handsome 8 year old pup you will ever lay your eyes on! And he’s got the brains and personality to match! Which to be honest doesn’t always happen haha. He was surrendered by his family to the shelter with his brother. His brother was adopted but Chevy found himself left behind and set to be euthanized for space. When we saw he only had a few hours left we busted him out and I’m so glad we did. Chevy is going to make a family so incredibly happy one day. He is truly a unicorn dog. Going through our temperament evaluation there’s typically a few little things that come up…. Not with Chevy though. Every test we through his way he passed with flying colors. Truthfully it’s almost been a bit boring but he is certainly 100% good boy certified! -Good With Other Dogs. Has an “all out” play style. -Very Sweet and submissive with people. -House/Crate Trained -Leash/Obedience Work We Are Currently Working On. Definitely Had No Work Prior. -Demands belly rubs and he’s cute enough to where you will cave in and give them. -Lower drive GS -High Energy and social would be a great adventure buddy We do not ships dog out of state. All adopters must travel to Dallas to meet their potential animal in person before moving forward with an adoption trial run.

Story
Hi! I'm Archie! I'm an approximately 5 year old, male, German Shepherd mix. I was found off Ridge Road near Goodwill on 11/05/2025 with a friend but sadly never reclaimed. I cannot WAIT to start the next chapter of my life in a loving home. I am a shy guy but love to be loved. I enjoy the company of my humans and appear to get along well with female dogs. I have not yet met kids or cats so that would be a new adventure for me. If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along! I appear to be house and crate trained, though patience and keeping me on a schedule are necessary to make sure I adapt well to my new home. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, and current on core annual boosters. I did test heartworm positive, but treatment is covered thanks to Rockwall PAWS! If you are interested in making me the newest member of your family, please visit https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ to fill out an application and RAC staff will be in touch with next steps!  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email info@RockwallAdoptions.com. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense. November 21, 2025, 3:18 pm
