Story
Meet Ariel — Your New Velcro Bestie! ????Ariel is a gentle, loving girl who’s the perfect mix of loyal shadow and playful companion. She already knows several commands like sit, stay, and leave it, and she’s fully potty trained and kennel trained, such a good girl. She’s dog friendly and does great living in a busy home with multiple pups, but when the others are off doing their thing, Ariel turns into a total sweetheart who follows her person around hoping for pets and attention. She’s not shy at all and loves being loved on.Ariel walks well on a leash but can pull a bit when she’s excited, so a little basic training will go a long way because she’s smart and eager to please. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet.She will happily hop on the furniture because she thinks she’s earned VIP status. And honestly, she kinda has.Ariel is in great health, fully vaccinated, spayed, and on monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention, so she is ready for her forever family. She is currently being fostered in a loving home in North Richland Hills, Texas. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate girl who wants to be part of everything you do, Ariel is ready to be your loyal sidekick and snuggle buddy.Come meet Ariel and let her show you just how big her heart is! ????

Story
Cash came to the rescue when the shelter sent him to have his fractured leg amputated at our vet clinic. He had been shot, and we have no idea of the other abuse he had suffered, but he is initially afraid of new men (fine once he learns they mean him no harm). While he is not an aggressive boy, he acts as if he could tear into someone, which can be off-putting. He is fine with women, loving, outgoing, and cuddly, especially with his foster mom. We are helping him work onhis fear, which can/will be resolved with patience and TLC.Cash lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone, large and small. He is playful and happy, can be as gentle or rough as needed, depending on who he is playing with. He walks fine on a leash and is good at going for rides when he gets a chance. He is crate trained and asks to go out if needed between potty breaks. He generally has good house manners, except when he counter-surfs for food when the opportunity presents itself.Cash is fully vetted, current with vaccines, neutered, microchipped, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
Racine had her DNA tested, and the results revealed that she is 60 percent American Staffordshire Terrier, 22 percent German Shepherd, 15 percent American Pit Bull Terrier, and 3 percent Bulldog. This would explain her high energy level and intensity. She is very intelligent and would love the job of protecting your family and doing whatever you ask of her.She came into rescue when her previous family decided to euthanize her when she was nine months old instead of training. After getting her as a puppy, they did nothing to help her learn to be a good family member. Luckily, the vet they took her to realized she was not the problem and had a lot of potential. We sent her to training, and now she is ready to be part of a family where she can fully devote herself.Racine is good on a leash, loves going for rides, and has the energy to keep up with any activity her humans might enjoy. She gets along with other dogs and would do great having fur friends to play with. She is too much for cats and probably small dogs, although she does live with small dogs in her foster home, she is not unattended around them. She would do best in a home without small children for the same reason, just too high of an energy level, and theywould ramp each other up.She is house and crate trained, although she has a stay-at-home family, so she goes outside several times a day, and someone is always available to let her out. Racine is fully vetted, current on vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
Meet Max! He's looking for a new home with a family who would enjoy and older dog who is loyal and obedient. Unfortunately, his current owner is having health issues, and they can no longer keep him.  Max is house and crate trained and walks well on a leash. He enjoys going for walks and knows basic commands which he will happily perform for a treat. Max hasn't lived with other dogs but doesn't seem to mind them when he sees them on walks or at the vet. He has been in boarding, and the staff describes him as super cuddly. As German Shepherd often are - Max can sometimes be protective (barks at a stranger or someone knocking on the front door) but he listens well and is calm when he knows his owners are ok.  He's neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to adopt him here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
