This puppy has a very strong drive to herd animals, which transfers over to children. It is advised that you do not adopt this puppy with small children in the house, because he will headbutt them or grab at their heels with his mouth. He does fine with adults.

Story
Tato is a 4 year old, 55 lb Black Mouth Cur mix. If you aren't familiar with this wonderful breed, they are described as friendly, lively, loyal, active, energetic, playful, and bright. We also think he may be mixed with Greyhound and Shepherd, but breed mix is just our best guess. Tato loves to be outside in the backyard on nice weather days. It's so much fun to watch him literally kick up his heels as he runs zoomies around the backyard. Tato knows the "sit" and "come" commands, and learned the doggie door in two tries. He loves to chase a tennis ball, and will actually bring it back and drop it at your feet for another game of fetch. He gets along with other dogs, but he may annoy older, more sedate dogs. He has been around kids over the age of 10 and did just fine. He may be a little too enthusiastic for kids younger than 10. Tato is housebroken and crate trained. He needs a little more work on leash training, but only because he gets excited when he sees other dogs, and wants to go play with them! Foster mom says that you just can't find a sweeter, more loving dog than Tato. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
DAISY and POPPY ARE SIBLINGS. All abandoned in the country. There were originally three and one was adopted on her own. We have had these precious girls many months now, with plenty of opportunities to watch their interactions and play style. While, in general, we do NOT recommend adopting siblings, these two have proven to be the exception to the rule. They LOVE each other and have never, ever had a raised lip, a side-eyed look, a growl or anything else. We would really love for them to be adopted together. HOWEVER, WE WILL CONSIDER ADOPTING THEM SEPARATEY. All the girls are very smart, but Poppy is also the LOVE BUG! She is either kissing you, wagging, or falling down for you to rub her tummy. If Poppy were in high school she would be a cheerleader and probably Queen of the Prom. Her personality is a wonderful match to Daisy's low key independence. For more information on adopting Poppy, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

HOWEVER, WE WILL CONSIDER ADOPTING THEM SEPARATELY. All the girls are very smart, but Daisy is especially so. Daisy will sit and watch the hummingbirds and watch for the squirrels! We laughingly call Daisy the "good sister" because she is low key and wants to please you - obeying whatever you ask. If the sisters were in high school, Daisy would be on the debate team and in honors classes. For more information on adopting Daisy, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
CONROE TEXAS ---------- Meet beautiful Miss Annie! This sweetheart was dumped in the woods outside Houston and was left to fend for herself. Luckily for her, a most wonderful rescue angel "street feeder" who brings daily food for dogs who have been abandoned, alerted to Annie's plight and we were able to whisk her to safety. Annie's estimated DOB is May 2023. She is spayed and current on vaccinations. Annie did test low positive for heartworms but does not have any symptoms and has no activity restrictions. She is being treated with the slow kill method. She is a strong and healthy girl and should have no lasting health issues. Despite being a former street dog, Annie is in good health and is a happy, outgoing, playful girl. She is great with other dogs and is very friendly with people. Although she was abandoned, she does not seem to have suffered any abuse. Since she is a mix she will be smaller than a purebred Anatolian. She's what we affectionately call a "pocket Anatolian" and will be great for people who have smaller homes/yards or aren't physically able to handle a 100+ pound dog. She will likely top out in the 60 pound range. Annie has not been tested with children, cats or livestock. Since she is an Anatolian MIX, she is looking for a family companion home and is not available as a livestock/working dog. NO LIVESTOCK EXPERIENCE SECURE FENCING REQUIRED Transport assistance may be available within a 1,000 mile radius depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers. Most Anatolians are not well suited to apartment living.
