Story
Scooby joined our family in July 2024 after I found him sitting alone on a sidewalk. From the beginning, he has been gentle, affectionate, and eager to bond with people. He is playful and adventurous and enjoys outdoor time, but he also has a calm, snuggly side and loves being close to his family. Scooby is smart and food-motivated, making him easy to engage and train. He has lived happily with our small dog and is friendly with visiting family members and caregivers. He is loyal and protective in a calm, reassuring way and thrives in a loving, family-oriented environment. Due to recent hand surgery and allergies, I’m no longer able to give Scooby the activity and outdoor time he deserves. This decision comes from love and the desire to see him continue to thrive. Scooby would do best with a family or individual who can offer regular exercise, companionship, and affection. In return, he will be a devoted, joyful companion. If you think Scooby may be a good fit, I’d love to connect.

Meet Miss Mellow! She is an eight month old Black Mouth Cur/Basenji mix, and she weighs about 40 lbs. Full disclosure, her name doesn't actually fit her personality. Mellow is a very happy pup that has an enthusiasm for life! She loves wrestling and playing chase with other dogs, and exploring the backyard with nose to the ground. She has unique markings with a black stripe running down her back to the end of her tail. She is one of four puppies that were abandoned on the side of the road in a locked carrier, in the heat of last July! The four puppies survived (thanks to a caring person who took them to a vet for life saving treatment). Be sure to check out the photo of all four pups when they first arrived, and weighed about 6 lbs. Two of those puppies have been adopted, but Mellow is still waiting, and so is her brother Buttons. Mellow is housetrained, walks well on leash, and rides well in the car. She may be a little too rambunctious for very young kids, but she should be fine with kids over the age of 6. Hi, My name is Buttons! People say I look like Scooby Doo in my pics, but I promise I only weigh about 40 lbs. I am one of four puppies that were abandoned on the side of the road in a locked carrier, in the heat of last July! All of us puppies survived (thanks to a caring person who took us to a vet for life saving treatment). Be sure to check out the photo of all four of us when we first arrived and weighed about 6 lbs. That terrible experience is now totally forgotten, and I now take joy in so many things. Foster mom says I am a Goofball because I do silly things that make her laugh. Here are just a few of my favorite things. Chewing on hard toys (I defluff the stuffed kind). Running zoomies in the backyard (I'm really fast!) Playing chase with the small dog in my foster home (I usually win). Yummy treats (I sit for treats and take them gently). Couch time with foster mom while she is watching TV (I sometimes watch too!) Greeting new people (I don't think I have ever met a stranger). Give me a chance, and I promise I will be the love of your life! Submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.
