Hi, my name is Mellow, and I was camping out under the Christmas Tree at my foster home, watching and waiting for Santa to bring me a new forever home! But, alas, no forever home yet. I'm still optimistic that the new year will bring me luck and a new forever home. I am one of a litter of 4 that was abandoned on the side of the road, locked in a crate, in the heat of summer. A Good Samaritan found us and took us to the vet who saved our lives. I have fully recovered and I am thriving in my foster home. Foster mom says that I am the sweetest little cuddle bug ever! I love romping around with other dogs, but I am also perfectly happy to entertain myself with toys. I may be a little shy when you first meet me, but it won't take long before I will be trotting around after you from room to room and sitting attentively by your side. Bolt is a big ole country boy that needs space. He is a pandemic pup so really all he knew was family. He gets along well with our most other dogs as long as they aren`t threatening. He is weary of new people and children. And doesn`t like cats. He would probably do best in a home without kids and not a lot of guests coming and going. He has a lot of personality.Once he gets to know you, he is THE SWEETEST! Bolt is food driven, loves to play, loves to chase (squirrels, rodents, birds, lizards..)Will be a great hunting companion and would need some running around space. Loves belly rubs and outside time. He is crate trained and spends nights in his crate, which he likes.Takes time to get comfy with strangers otherwise, he`s pretty fearless. He is house trained, crate trained, has many commands down (sit, come, stay, leave it, no jump, no bite, paw, down. drop it, on guard) and is very trainable. He is playful and adventurous and enjoys outdoor time, but he also has a calm, snuggly side and loves being close to his family. Scooby is smart and food-motivated, making him easy to engage and train. He has lived happily with our small dog and is friendly with visiting family members and caregivers. He is loyal and protective in a calm, reassuring way and thrives in a loving, family-oriented environment.
