Story
Tato is a 4 year old, 55 lb Black Mouth Cur mix. If you aren't familiar with this wonderful breed, they are described as friendly, lively, loyal, active, energetic, playful, and bright. Tato loves to be outside in the backyard on nice weather days. It's so much fun to watch him literally kick up his heels as he runs zoomies around the backyard. Tato knows the "sit" and "come" commands, and learned the doggie door in two tries. He loves to chase a tennis ball, and will actually bring it back and drop it at your feet for another game of fetch. He gets along with other dogs, but he may annoy older, more sedate dogs. He has been around kids over the age of 10 and did just fine. He may be a little too enthusiastic for kids younger than 10. Tato is housebroken and crate trained. He needs a little more work on leash training, but only because he gets excited when he sees other dogs, and wants to go play with them! Foster mom says that you just can't find a sweeter, more loving dog than Tato. Please submit your application, and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Meet Rain Drop, a resilient 4.5-month-old Black Mouth Cur/Beagle mix with striking brown, black, and white coloring. This little pup has had quite the journey, starting her life found under a bush during a rainstorm and then battling an illness. But now, Rain Drop is healthy, happy, and ready to find her forever family! Rain Drop is a playful and energetic pup who loves being outside. She would thrive in a home with a fenced-in backyard where she can run and explore to her heart's content. If a backyard isn't available, she will need daily trips to the dog park to burn off her energy and enjoy some playtime. Walking her on a harness is a must to keep her safe and comfortable during her outdoor adventures. This social butterfly loves other dogs and would enjoy having a dog friend at home to play with. She's a good family dog, full of love and excitement, and she's eager to be a part of your everyday life. While she's incredibly sweet and affectionate, she does need a bit of training to curb her enthusiastic jumping. Rain Drop's cool eyes and beautiful coat make her a standout, but it's her spirit and resilience that truly set her apart. If you're looking for a loving, playful companion who's ready to take on the world with you, Rain Drop is the perfect match. Come meet her and let her brighten your life!

Story
Nathan is a total love bug! He is shy at first but bonds quickly.  He loves his people.  He loves to snuggle and be close to his human. Nathan is dog and kid friendly.  He has not been around cats, but given his demanor, it is likely that with proper introductions, he would do just fine with them as well! Nathan is more of a cuddler than anything.  He enjoys finding the smallest dog bed in the house to nap on, then stretch across the floor or next to his human on bed at night.   This sweet boy is more than ready for a family of his own!  He is fully vaccinated, neutered, current on prevention and microchipped.  He is house trained. ##1200161##

Story
DAISY and POPPY ARE SIBLINGS. All abandoned in the country. There were originally three and one was adopted on her own. We have had these precious girls many months now, with plenty of opportunities to watch their interactions and play style. While, in general, we do NOT recommend adopting siblings, these two have proven to be the exception to the rule. They LOVE each other and have never, ever had a raised lip, a side-eyed look, a growl or anything else. We would really love for them to be adopted together. HOWEVER, WE WILL CONSIDER ADOPTING THEM SEPARATEY. All the girls are very smart, but Poppy is also the LOVE BUG! She is either kissing you, wagging, or falling down for you to rub her tummy. If Poppy were in high school she would be a cheerleader and probably Queen of the Prom. Her personality is a wonderful match to Daisy's low key independence. For more information on adopting Poppy, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

We laughingly call Daisy the "good sister" because she is low key and wants to please you - obeying whatever you ask. If the sisters were in high school, Daisy would be on the debate team and in honors classes. For more information on adopting Daisy, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
CONROE TEXAS ---------- Meet beautiful Miss Annie! This sweetheart was dumped in the woods outside Houston and was left to fend for herself. Luckily for her, a most wonderful rescue angel "street feeder" who brings daily food for dogs who have been abandoned, alerted to Annie's plight and we were able to whisk her to safety. Annie's estimated DOB is May 2023. She is spayed and current on vaccinations. Annie did test low positive for heartworms but does not have any symptoms and has no activity restrictions. She is being treated with the slow kill method. She is a strong and healthy girl and should have no lasting health issues. Despite being a former street dog, Annie is in good health and is a happy, outgoing, playful girl. She is great with other dogs and is very friendly with people. Although she was abandoned, she does not seem to have suffered any abuse. Since she is a mix she will be smaller than a purebred Anatolian. She's what we affectionately call a "pocket Anatolian" and will be great for people who have smaller homes/yards or aren't physically able to handle a 100+ pound dog. She will likely top out in the 60 pound range. Annie has not been tested with children, cats or livestock. Since she is an Anatolian MIX, she is looking for a family companion home and is not available as a livestock/working dog. NO LIVESTOCK EXPERIENCE SECURE FENCING REQUIRED Transport assistance may be available within a 1,000 mile radius depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers. Most Anatolians are not well suited to apartment living. Story
Mac is a 10 year old, 66 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. Yes, Mac is a senior gentleman with a distinguished gray muzzle, but he is still young at heart! Mac loves everyone, including his tiny human sister and his four legged brothers and sisters, and he play chase with one of the resident dogs. He's faster than you would think! He likes to bring his toys to his soft bed for nap time. He loves going on car rides and stopping at Sonic for his favorite doggie treat. Mac likes his routine, so he needs a calm, quiet, low activity home. If you are interested in an amazing dog who is beyond the challenging puppy stage but still a lot of fun, Mac just might be the guy for you! Mac qualifies for our senior adoption fee of $125.00.
