Once, I mistook a squirrel for a tennis ball and chased it up a tree. Imagine my surprise when the `ball` started chattering at me! Ha! This cutie does not meet a stranger. She greets everyone with a big doggie smile on her cute face. She appears to be a Blackmouth Cur/terrier mix. Swifty is pretty much a social butterfly with other dogs at the shelter. She has not shown any aggression when meeting other dogs. All the volunteers can’t say enough good things about her. He’s doing very well in potty training (only one accident in the house).  He’s so smart and already crate trained, and eager to go outside to potty and walks well on a leash. He really loves being outside, playing, chasing balls and basking in the sun. He’s got lots of energy and lots of love to give.  Simon does very well with other dogs and all people he meets.  We think Simon may be a Blackmouth Cur and Carolina dog mix.  He currently weighs around 45 pounds and should weigh around 60 when fully grown.  Simon is truly a loving and fun doggie who will bring years of joy to some very lucky family.  He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home.  His foster family reports he is just super.  Please email steffeniegaprescue.com for more info.May 1, 2024, 4:57 pm

Meet Boone! This gentle 8 year old giants owner passed away and now he is looking for his new forever home. Boone is a true blood hound, he is curious and loves his walks so he can sniff out all of the neighborhood critters. He is a little shy with new people and does not care for loud noises. He likes his doggie friends, but does not like to share his food or bowl when it's chow time. Boone is potty trained, but does not care for a crate. He loves his people and will be a loyal companion who will follow you around the house.In true blood hound fashion his new owner will need embrace his slobber like a badge of honor, but this is easily manageable with a fresh supply of dish towels strategically placed around your home. He also has big floppy ears that need cleaning bi-weekly, Boone takes all of this attention like a champ. Boone is also great at letting you know if someone has come to visit your front door. Boone would do best with someone who can be home during the day to give him attention or someone who can visit at lunch. He does well with others dogs after an introduction, but will let them know who is in charge.
